Maybe? worth sending Flounder some suggestions for next time :) , he and the others do listen to ideas in my experience!

Just think -- generally -- that writing off a whole load of festival acts as 'shit' is a tad harsh is all. A lot of the choices suited me sure, but it wasn't as one dimensional as all that I didn't think ...

Saying that I'd agree that comedy and cabaret etc need to feature more ....

I thought most of the music was shit tbh and I thought the festival was a bit one-dimensional. It needs cabaret and theatre and some different kinds of music from ska and punk.
Please write to the organisers and suggest that they offer Offline a stage so we can put on some alternative entertainment! I've been nagging them for ages 'cos I reckon we'd add something interesting to the festival. We'd certainly improve on the 'comedy' which remains the most painful part of the festie.

I didn't see many bands, although I thought the general quality - if not the variety - was mainly pretty good. Sham69 were exceptionally shite though.

I loved the jovial chaos of the Strummerville area best - the PA may have been wobbling most of the time but the atmosphere remained fantastic.

I did say I saw SOME really good stuff and had an amazing time all weekend. And I definitely want to go next year. What's wrong saying that some of the music was shit? It didn't affect whether I had a good time or not.

It's up to us whether we have a good time, not the music.

Ok, I'll do that :)

I'm thinking back to proper old festies like Elephant Fayre and IMO they managed to get the balance of big name music, local bands and theatre all just spot on. I really liked the strummerville area very much but never got there in time to sit down. One thing me and Ground Elder and Mrs Ground Elder reckoned was it needs more fire - both physically and spiritually ;)

Yes that was my favourite performance area by far. It really was a lovely intimate atmosphere with that fire, and all. :)

Not in disagreement generally ...... it's very much a vibe and company type atmosphere at Endorse It, more than line up. Praps that why I'm easily pleased!

Just looked like you were saying before that you thought the music overall was shit -- sorry if I misread that though

Eat Static were really good. The rest was pretty predictable for Endorset. Not that I really cared, spent most of the time stumbling around tents whilst curiously insensible!

If it wants to have more than one dimension it definitely needs cabaret and theatre. And some street stuff. Most decent festivals have (or had) cabaret and theatre.

Nope.

Bunch off tossers prancing around being 'alternative'? No thanks. 'Street' stuff? Ha!

were eat static on on saturday night? i was confused as to what the electronic music was when i went down to the arena. i guess it must have been them.

Were they the psytrancey type lot that no-one would go and see with me either? :D

They weren't actually psytrancey particularly, more techno. They were amazing. Though that could've been the 'rugs... ;)

Although it was a shame that the main stage was in a tent, the sound was really good this year - in fact it was pretty good on most stages.

I thought the security were good too - pretty much invisible most of the time and it's always nice to be at a festival without cops milling about.

Endorse It remains my fave festival!

There was a psytrancey type band that no-one would go and see with me because they were psytrancey :( Oh! on Saturday night we were at the restaurant so it can't have been them.

That's pretty much why I go to ANY festie. Good music is just a bonus. I honestly think if you can't have a good time at a FESTIVAL, where can you?!

No, I wasn't saying all the music was shit. Just alot of it. But the GOOD things I saw totally made up for it. tbh, I hardly saw any bands. And the shit ones were really funny, anyway, so it was ok.

There was a bit of a clash going on at the entrance on Sunday night. Some kid on the ground in handcuffs and a load of kids on the other side of the fence getting sketchy.

Do keep coming tp, just where would we be without your forthright honesty? ;)

I dunno, but I'd like to know what everyone was on and how much they had drunk because seriously, the whole thing was shit, I can see how you could confuse that with it being alright though if you were off yer face.

Me too! Old skool, NO corporate shit (the only advertising is for things like Mr. Wurzel's drumminge shoppe in Boscome etc. etc.) :D . And it's the PERFECT size, really friendly, and just ace. Deffo going again next time.

There were a few tent thefts, and a grapevine said that cop car down at the entrance was to do with that, but I didn't personally see or experience a single bit of hassle.
