That was amazing and lovely. (Well, not that amazing because I went last year and I already knew that it'd be amazing iyswim).
I am a teeny bit jealous of all the munters, because I didn't feel quite right enough in the head from the start to join in and could only consume teensy dibs and dabs apart from large quantities of fine cider and ale.
But I got my kicks from tea and cake, the general atmosphere, the sun and being around all you guys who are made of 100% win (with special mention to the hosts TopCat/gloworm and Iemanja/Mation and their assorted hanger-ons
)
and the music. Highlights for me were two bands that I'd made a special effort to see as I'd seen them before and they didn't disappoint. The Big Hand who'd rocked Offline at Jamm a few months back were great fun.
And Lazy Habits (connected by their trumpeter to the band Imperial Leisure of last year's guerilla-gig-by-the-portaloos-fame) were amazing again. The atmosphere in the tent for their second gig on saturday afternoon wasn't all there at first as everyone was sitting down- and they are very much a bouncy bouncy band - but the surprise beatboxer who came up on stage from the audience broke the ice and had the band members jaw dropped and the audience on their feet. Utterly brillant.
Also loved Zion Train. Came as a bit of a surprise after feeling so-so about them last year that I was bouncing around like a made thing to their set this time around. (Even if clearly noone has told the singer that Ketamine is not just for horses, but for children and kittens, too
- albeit not necessarily for breakfast on top of a large glass of vodka and orange but that's a different chapter.)
Anyway, big love to everyone who went and to everyone who's coming next year!
Oh, and I nearly forgot to say a very special thank you to citydreams for a lift that extended beyond Salisbury to our front door!
