Forgot to mention before - Kevicious sent me a shiny new cd! It works and everything. Very good band, very attentive to customer satisfaction. :D

Cheers! :D

Thank-you Stig.

Dates for next year are 8th-10th August 2008 - tickets will probably go on sale around the beginning of March. We are again considering an earlier event in the year - details to follow.:)

I am so much there ... :)

... in only just less than 12 months time :(

But generally :)

One important suggestion, please try and get the toilet people to replace the soap with that evaporating antiseptic alcohol-type stuff, no not THAT type :D

I fear one or two of us briefly went through 'unsettled' times not long after

Zero other criticisms tho' ...

:) I reckon the dates you had this year were good - it was hot that time last year iirc any earlier and there might be RAIN!!!!

I think endorseit is best suited to happy sunnys days makes it even more special and friendly - I'd still go if it were raining tho.

Also having it around the 10th will be like the finale of the summer festies for alot of people. :)

As posted on t'other board
points noted and will be fed back - thanks for that. However, upset stomachs effecting more than one person can come from one person just not bothering to wash their hands and then the whole thing gets spread along orally. Soap and water have been used after having a poo or wee for generations with brilliant results. The route is known as the faecal/oral route ( how worms etc are passed on). Its more likely that someone didn't wash their hands and then shared something with you that was contaminated - particularly as it was localised to your group.
Personally I don't trust anything in any bogs and have always carried my own supply around ;) ( who said anal retentive?)

I think that all makes sense (and thanks for noting the points) but every other festival bar one that I went to this year, had the antiseptic stuff -- most portaloo hire companies supply it and it definitely works.

I agree you can't definitively attribute the problem (minor admittedly, but not nice) to the toilets, or rule out group unhygeine  but every precaution helps -- not sure the difference in expense would be any more than minimal, but do correct me if I've got that wrong ...

Anyway I'll be back next year whatever, the above just a minor matter really.

Well I was fine. And I didn't snog/shag/stick my fingers in the private bits of anyone except rich!, call me old-fashioned. :D And he was fine too. ~dunno what the rest of you were up to, but stoppit. You filth. :p

eta just saying er, didn't blame the toilets. Too much information?

Personally I'm all for it. Most festivals in my experience run out of it though and its not replaced ( nasty results). We've actually had several emails commenting on how pleased people were with the cleanliness of the bogs!!!
Some people are a little less careless about PH than others though and do build up a resistance to certain bugs, but can spread them to others. My job requires that I'm fastidious about hands being clean & I carry this healthy paranoia into my festival goings on.
I did once meet someone who had contracted Hep A through sharing a joint at a festival. Nasty business.:(

Oh didn't know you could pass it on that way!!

Fortunately I can't get Hep A now.

As for a suggestion, the sound at the end there for Phil Hartnol was terrible, which was a real shame as I got an unexpected Orbital gig. I know
there were some regulations going on there, but you were allowed more than whisper quiet. I think that not disconnecting and moving the mixing desk before he came on might have solved a lot of them.

Fair dos ....

The toilets themselves were clean, sure, which I why I was surprised that there might have been a problem. I hadn't really thought about possibe alternative sources though. I'm pretty hygeinic myself at festies, get through mad quantities of wetwipes, caution usually applies after a particularly nasty bout, far worse than this time, following Mudbath Glastonbury in 1997. But you're right, you tend to forget that others might spread a bug unknowingly.

Wasn't THAT bad anyway, by the time Beautiful Days started the following Friday, I was 95% recovered ... and I tested that to destruction in the beer tents over there :D

I am aware there were a few issues with Phils set - the problem with the sound levels were that I don't think he was aware of our restrictions ( he got there late and went straight into the setup and then the gig started). Our sound man would have to turn it down and then phil would bung it back up - it did take a few moments for them to sort this out.

With regard to the mixing desk - Phil has certain requirements and the desks needed to be changed to fit in with them.
Apologies for any disappointment that arose from this.

Time for this megathread to sink very soon I guess, but just before it does ...

Looking far from impossible that next year I may bring a 'new' and festie loving friend ;) (from elsewhere) next year, if all goes well ... which they are, very, so far ....

Moar later ...

That slightly indiscreet and partly drunk post comes from Exeter ;) in advance of getting up at 8 am tomorrow for the next stage of my Perpetual Festival Tour tomorrow, which will be no. 4 of 5 consecutive. Don't call me non hardcore!!! :p

Endorse It 2008 really is very much on our agenda now. Being both of us hardcore festographers, we are already starting to plan our Season 2008 campaign ... and festivaldeb is pretty keen to come along already. Must have been something that I sold ... :D :)

A couple of bands who played EndorseIt 2007
Tragic Roundabout
Chicken Shed Zeppelin

will be playing at a fundraiser gig in the Windmill on Sat 6th October.
I'll post details(with permission of course) nearer the date...
