that was a great festival

I loved the size of it, meant that in the rain it wasn't a monumental mission to go and do anything. it didn't feel that there were 20 other things that you should do, which was a bonus when the rain kept you in for a bit.

I found the security to be pretty low key, the only search i got was of my cool box when we went in, guess they were checking for glass more than anything else. I heard about the bag checks on friday, but I presumed that because it was so wet on saturday (which was when I finally ventured out of the camping area :D ) they'd given up.

the best festival toilets I've ever seen too, the loo seats were nearly always clean and dry :D

big thanks to jefe and pie for supplying the tent and the lift - and thank you so much to wiskers for helping with the tent putting up! and for supplying a bacon sandwich at just the right moment on saturday morning.

highlight for me was the cropdusters being just as brilliant as I remember them, and hobo jones and the junkyard dogs were fun

lovely to see faces old and new, thanks to idaho and his lovely wife for the cocktails.

I'll definitely be back next year.

Jittug and I were discussing everyone saying saturday was a rain washout last night . . . we think the thing to bear in mind is that it always sounds worse from inside a tent. esp a small one. it really wasnt so bad outside.

I'm a major rain hater at festivals (of course none of you know that :p ;) ), but that's a really good point --once you get out, it has to be a real deluge to be worse than how it sounds when inside a tent,

[So this coming Saturday, I'll be heading straight to a LARGE tent .. with a bar in it ... ;)]

Judge Jules! *chortle*

It wasn't more than 3" deep, I kept clean for most of the festival, as did others. Wellies and boots were caked but it wasn't very muddy considering the amount of wind.

Didn't it get into your tents and stuff though? :(

How did your tent hold up btw? :D Oh, and your pics are lovely. :)

I had a great tent, three man, double mattress, fleece blankets and a big sleeping bag - people were even coming back to my tent :D

Cheers, I'll try and fix this memory card and post some more. I have some good ones of hobojones I think!

Weather is changing, no month is spared shit weather.

Which is why you just have to go for it! Our weather is shit, hadn't you noticed? :D That's why we have things like green trees, and lush green fields of grass, ahhhh.

This shit weather is inevitable thing ... it's a bit of a misleading idea. Climate change means weather fluctuates, within years and between years. We've been lucky enough to have had some great-weather festies so far this summer, despite the summer being generally indifferent-to-rubbish. And yet this coming weekend looks like an Endorse It scale washout rainwise for anyone heading for Devon.

BUT we cannot rule out a summer dominated throughout by hot sunny weather. We'll get one. Some time between now and 2012 ... or 2021 :)

And in any case. Weatherwatcher of Walworth can almost guarentee that Endorse It 2009 will be 2007-like in sunbathed -ness ... :)

Quote me on that this time next year, but include the word 'almost' ;)

The mud wasn't that bad, moomoo.

A bit of slopping about but not enough to get in your tent and stuff. Even when you had a shit tent like mine. :)

Fuck no! I borrowed everything, cityofdreams got my lidl one and I don't think it lasted too long :D

Marnin'

cheers to everyone who came and cheered / laughed / heckled Who's Afear'd over the weekend. I had a U75 shout-out all ready and then completely forgot about it. I think they call that fluffing yer lines (something that most of you lot didn't have a problem with ;) ).

Only got to speak to the Jefe-meister and a couple of others over the weekend as was ultra-distracted. Looking after Rita (and her quiche) was particularly important. Gotta say that watching Back to the Planet, in 2008, with my mum, was a wonderfully surreal experience!

Absolutely crackin' weekend, as ever. Can't wait for next year - am hoping that they will convert the church down my road into a permanent Wig-on Casino...

:)
I really enjoyed Who's Afear'd! The boyfriend wanted to bid the last of our money on the quiche but I wouldn't let him :D We also spotted you at the station on the Monday but I felt a bit awkward about going up to you and saying "Kevicious? I'm Thora off the internet..."

Looks like it would have got everywhere! Are there showers on site btw?

(((((cityofdreams)))))

Psssst, got any pics of them in your Lidl tent? :D

I was intitially in a bit of a weird head space having come directly from Climate Camp...

Really? Would like to hear about that. I was very nearly there on the eve of Wednesday 6th ...

I suppose 'very nearly' doesn't really cut it though ...

All in all, aside for the terrible calamity that was the camper van field (did I really pay an exta 20 quid to be treated so shabbily?? Surely there must have been some almighty cock-up on that front, 'cos the organisers generally do seem to make every effort to think of everything..)

There's been a fair few grumbles aboiut this on efests ...

... and also about the Security using dogs, allegedly/apparantly heavyhandedly, at the close of the Beer Tent, 4 am Monday morning. Did anyone witness this? I only have a couple of second hand accounts but to me the idea of using dogs at festivals seems wrong and unnecessary.

I will definately be back though, 'cos it was still really good fun and I thought the inside of the festi had got loads better actaully.

Good to hear on both counts :)

Now I don't like being back home...

Know the feeling!!!

I didn't see any heavy handed security all weekend.

Nor me, nothing worse than some festivals I have been too. In fact, one security guard always gave me a big thumbs up as I had a Studio1 tshirt on!

I didn't see any heavy handed security all weekend.

Fair enough, plenty of people here and elsewhere have said the same, It seems like most people were fine with them.

But the account I did read elsewhere, from someone who didn't seem ultra hysterical about it or anything -- he made a point of saying that most Security were absolutely fine -- gave me pause for thought. I guess just one persons account though, with only one or two others postiung in agreement.

I know Security have to be there and last year at Endorse It they were fine.

Dogs though ... hmmm ...... I spose I should listen to people who were there though rather than going off on one from a distance.

But were any Urbans in the Beer Tent when it closed at 4 am Monday? Just interested to hear another view ... honestly not trying to put a downer on peoples exerience generally. From Urban, and mostly on efests too, it sounds like almost everyone had a fab time :)

I'm not saying the thing with the dogs didn't happen, William.

Just saying that I didn't see owt like that myself.
