Edinburgh - things to do and see, great pubs and more

Porty Prom. Number 26 bus from Princes Street every 5-10 minutes.

edit: But the weather really *is* grim btw.

what he said. The windchill is making it feel like minus 7 in the city centre today so I really wouldn't fancy the beach

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

I want to go to the seaside. Is there a nice seaside that's easy to get to from the centre?
Get the 41 to Cramond, low tide is 11.10 according to internet so should be able to do the island before it starts pissing down in the afternoon. Fucking cold though.

Also this, actually. Although the 41 bus route is a bit of a nightmare, especially so depending on where in town you start from.

I had a great time in Edinburgh. Will post up photos and tales of grand drinking later!

Had a lovely dish of cullen skink at a restaurant on the left halfway up that cobbled street. It's a great city.

I used to jog up there in my younger, fitter days

I once raced someone up those when drunk. Face planted into the drain pipe at the first landing and spent the rest of the night wondering a) why the bouncers had been reluctant to let me into my usual Friday night indie-disco, and b) what had happened to my face.
