Not that convinced by the biwiring fad. i recall my dad had a system decades since, which had minescule speakers called minimax which i believe originated in the old soviets. They were wired to a garrard(100?) with a fancy arm arrangement and an early cambridge (p50?) amplifier. His speaker wires was mains bell flex, thin stuff, easily bent around corners, which appealed to his fastidious nature, allowing the wire to be tacked to skirting board tops and painted over. The whole thing absolutely rocked. He listened mainly to classical stuff, mostly unappealing to these hippy ears. But when he was at work, out would come the Grateful dead and Sgnt Pepper. Marvelous sounds from bell wire.
No. You’re wrong. It couldn’t have sounded good as the cable wasn’t expensive enough.

This is because bi-wiring is bollocks.
i have suspicions that you may be correct. my audionotes are not bi-wired. If bell wire functioned for my old man, that is good enough for me. Not that i use bell wire, just bog standard thickish speaker wire to allow some watts to travel without fire risk!

my yardstick is thickness. Thickish seems reasonable, thin, less so due to resistance. Drax power supply cable ridiculous.

True audiophiles won't just visit the free exhibition though, they'll pay £2100 to make some speakers themselves, at a designated time and place:

those flaired horn things in the above photo has just reminded me.. one day in holmfirth i noticed a skip outside what was the the cinema, which was in the process of an 'upgrade'. It contained two of those, just sat there for the taking.. Always regretted not lifing them. Trouble was they were too big for our then house. They had a wee speaker at one end as well, presumably for the treble. Carpenter made probably. possibly oak. Frustrating 😐

I probably would have gone tbh, had i seen this earlier

going to see and possibly buy an arcam fjm 25p power amp tomorrow which I'll use in combo with my alpha 10.

also hopefully arranging for a new set of kef floorstanders. have seen a set of q55s which will be a nice upgrade from my aging q35s.

will report.

Come on, at least mount them on quantum levitating magneto optimisers, otherwise quite frankly what’s the point.

Shut Up And Take My Money

off to barnsley to collect this amp in a bit.

it has an a/b speaker selector, same as my alpha 10, I'm gonna try and bi-amp both sets of my speakers.

will report.

Cor, it isn't small is it? I suppose you need all the room inside for all the quantum defraculators and electromagnetic field resonators?
I thougbt it was just some magic mice inside, that what the holes in the top are for, so they can breath...right?

They let any spare quantums out.

Which is why you’ll need my patent soon to be applied for Spare Quantums Regulator*, yours for a bargain £763.95 (plus shipping).

Of course as you’re bi-amping you’re gonna need two to give optimum performance…

*Which to the untrained eye looks like 3 coat hangers soldered together

The upgrade itch will need scratched again - not diminishing the joy you are getting from your system btw. Its jus that upgrade itch never finally leaves, it lurks like a fucking prowler in the dark ready to pounce just when you thought you were safe. Different cartridge got me obsessed for ages, until the new denon arrived, which gave some relief, for the moment.
