Where have I heard this before The new one ?Swearing that says alot about you and why your club is what it is
You came on here for no other reason than to give your unwanted and Ill informed opinions which have, rightly, upset a few people. Our club is highly regarded by many who visit it as one of the most welcoming around despite your view. 3000 people and no hassle, no trouble and no draconian rules. We happen to quite like it or we wouldn’t go there because there is so much more to do in London than support a small football club in a sea of professional clubs close by.Swearing that says alot about you and why your club is what it is
Hardly going to be picking up a book written by Paul Embury (sic). This is an individual who has been happy to air his views via online media such as Unherd, Spiked & GBNews on matters such as immigration and refugees. Hardly the mouthpieces for someone who proclaims themselves to be on “the left”. Might also add his views on transgender women. Someone who would deny me the opportunity to play sport alongside the other women who welcome & accept me isn’t going to be on my Amazon reading list.I suggest you read a book by a Labour party member and trades unionist Paul Embury its called despised. Why the modern left despises the working class.
Actually, on the note about noise - now we have a timeline for how long we're going to be at the current ground, it would be really helpful if the club could look at getting some kind of small roof behind each of the goals.
It doesn't need to be something big, even a small covering that's the width of the goal and covered half the steps would make a massive difference. I'm talking about something as simple as the kind of thing you might see at a provincial bus stop.
One of the first things Hakan did when he joined the club was bring in some members of The Rabble and ask them to make "a wall of noise", and people are really trying, but we've just got our hands tied behind our backs with the current set up.
There has to be some solution that's affordable and doesn't require planning permission. It doesn't need to be perfect - any improvement will do.
(Would be grateful for any thoughts, Ben Clasper)
Your own comments say everything about what you are. You sound like an online version of that bloke who walks into a pub he's never previously visited, plonks himself at the bar, and demands an audience from everyone within earshot. No wonder proper South Londoners thought you were a twit.Swearing that says alot about you and why your club is what it is
Pink yes ill leave you to your own, I have never gone on any other clubs site but Saturday was unlike any before.
You are certainly different in someways and maybe if you had to play clubs like Aldershot, Oldham, Scunthorpe, Hartlepool even Yeovil or stayed if you went up may not have suited your ethos?
Their supporters large in number very vociferous and of an attitude in thought and mind that some of you would clearly not appreciate.
Maybe the Ismithian or NLS might be a natural sealing to suit your following.
Which whatever you think is quite different from most football clubs and if it suits you all fine and dandy.
Its just playing or watching ive never seen a club roll over on such an important day and i felt sorry for your manager.
Good luck and Good health
Steph
Good. His official club interview was done in the immediate aftermath of our relegation last weekend. I always interpreted the element of uncertainty Hakan hinted at as being no more than an assumption (on his part) that any relegated manager may be regarded as a failure and shown the door. His 13 matches yielded 16 points. That sort of ratio would have yielded 56/57 points over the whole season and kept us up comfortably, so that's not the reason we went down, especially when you consider he inherited a team with 1 point from 10 games. I hope the board has been able to reassure him that he's our man and we very much want him to stay. I don't think it would have been healthy to focus on "what if we go down?" ahead of last weekend, and obviously Hakan was dealing with a major bereavement too, so I can understand that conversation not taking place any sooner.Reading Hakan's quote in the South London Press it is clear he wants to stay. Good news .
