David Cameron: socialists have no sense of humour

Jimmy Carr is a throwback to cuntier times - although some of his political stuff on the 10pm show has been decent. I think his cunty stuff is just because he's too lazy to think of an original angle.

Hardly seen him but he does speak to the times. Even the 'cunty stuff' now has to come with a contrived sense of irony. It's as pointless and unfunny as the politically correct stuff. The flip side in fact.

You can't win though. I've done my utmost to remain utterly unsuccessful all my adult life and I still lost my faith in the possibility of a better world.

You're an entirely different kettle of fish though. You remain a leftie, but have lost any hope that meaningful change will happen (and seem desperate to disabuse the rest of us of any last vestige of hope as well). I don't hear you on here talking about bloody workshy dolescum etc.

And I don't equate increased wealth with losing your left wing ideals, although it can play a huge part. I may have made it seem like I did, but I think you can have the same trajectory without material success, it just takes a different form.

I'm not trying to disabuse anybody of anything. However, I can't radiate the kind of political hope I don't feel just to please the rest of you.

popular mainstream comedian, a bit breathless, a bit posh, does observational comedy in an undemanding kind of way.

he wears a fucking blazer for fucks sake , absolutely no irony intended with it . Its purely because he's the type of cunt who wears blazers . His hair is straight out of a winalot advert . He has babys bums skin grafted onto his anodyne face . He's been scrubbed squeakier clean than the fucking Monkees . He is to comedy what Hansen are to heavy rock .

"Alternative" comedy is just comedy that doesn't rely on giving entire demographic groups a good kicking. It was the breath of fresh air after decades of Chalky White and mother-in-law jokes.

.

yeah right , I seem to remmeber it going from mother in laws to

I liked Dave Allen , Billy Conollly , Les Dawson , Kenny Everett and some Bill Hicks . And the young ones when they were the young ones .

Loose Women and Joe Brand are decidedly not alternative. FFS!

Guilt-ridden, clueless, wannabe lefties don't count.

I think you're my favourite left-wing comedian. You're the Eeyore of the left. I mean than affectionally.

Really? I'd have said all my insults have been out in the open, whereas yours are the sort of insinuation seen below.

See? A snide twat being a snide twat.

It isn't insinuation. Anybody can see that, for whatever reason, you're sucking up to somebody who is perfectly capable of fighting his own messageboard battles.

but back in the 80s they were at the top of the alternative pile . As far as Im concerned it was just a failed experiment .

They weren't even around in the 80s. Joe Brand maybe at the tail end. But she wasn't part of the alternative movement, she was the start of the comedy 'feminist' backlash, where apparently equality is about misandry becoming just as popular and acceptable as misogyny. All women have to do to be equal is to become just as fucked up and nasty as men. Comedy feminism indeed - a fucking parody of a travesty of a way to miss the fucking point doofus.

They might be the armed-wing shock troops of the underground 'feminist' army, but they have nothing to do with feminism or progressive politics.

I don't often look at what people put under their user names.

Stop wiping his arse. He's perfectly capable of doing it himself.
and lo! and behold, the most tiresomely predictable sequence comes to pass - again.
1) LLETSA talks utter, total shite
2) gets pulled up by others on it
3) because he's nowhere enough of a man to accept he possibly might be wrong, he reverts to the usual offering of snide, sneery remarks, as this is the only way the king of the inadequacy complexes can feel he's not being outsmarted (and you really can't handle the feeling of someone outsmarting you, can you).
LETSA, in one way - just one, mind you - your presence, here and elsewhere, actually has value; in an uncertain world, it's heartening to think one can rely on the boards' resident dullard putting your own inimitable, utterly pointless, depressing, if-i-make-enough-personal-remarks-i might-avoid-self-awareness stamp on things.

Do you really have to be 'enough of a man' about what is really nothing other than pissing about on the internet? Get a grip of yourself; you're babbling.

Calm down dear
I'm perfectly calm thanks, it's merely that LLETSA's every post is so tiresomely predictable - you really do know exactly what's gonna come next - that it's about as entertaining and worth bothering with, as those old-tyme sexist comedians from way back when people more interesting than him actually did use the phrase 'alternative' to describe a comedian

All this said with a straight face, as if the likes of Steathamite haven't beeing regurgitating the same set of platitudes on here for a full decade.

Is it PMQ's today? Any guesses as to which British cultural "comedy" reference Disco will come out with today? I vote for something from "On The Buses" -

"Plenty of room upstairs for my policies, love"
"Phwoar, that Theresa May's a right bit of crumpet, eh?"
"You stupid woman!"
"'Ere Clegg, give yer ma a kiss goodbye, then!"
"Right son, you're on report!"

etc etc etc

(Special Guest: Vince Cable as Inspector Blake)
