Packed! about 150+ people there, so it took a while to get us all into the the hall. The author delivered a good talk with slides. I definitely want to read the Croydonopolis book. I really enjoyed it.

One of my main reasons for going was to get hold of a copy and get it signed, would that have been an option?

Only if you were either very quick to the front of the queue or prepared to wait for ages after a load of giddy pensioners keen to multitask buying the book and moaning about Croydon Council. (To clarify, friendofdorothy and I are not in that category... yet.)

I might get this if I can find it on Kindle. I went to school in Croydon and have a soft spot for the brutal concrete architecture.

I used to describe Croydon town Centre as a Lego Manhattan. Generic overpriced boxy apartment blocks seem to be the order of the day everywhere, every town and city. Which isn’t great.

I know a few people enjoy a wassail ... This is a local one in Addiscombe Railway Park which might be an interesting stroll for some people interest in Croydon history and transport

My daughter (much younger back then) got given a Banksy print when we took a look "something for the little one" they said.
Worth a couple of grand now.
