CrowdScores - Live Pre-season Scores

Hello all!

Just a quick one to say that we have decided to cover all of Dulwich's league games this season.

With the help of some external aggregation and a handful of fantastic forum users, who have shared flawlessly throughout pre-season, we are looking to provide live match data from the Isthmian Premier.

We hope that some of you will keep up with games via the CrowdScores app or even share events yourselves. Live league tables, top scorers and comprehensive Isthmian Premier coverage are on the horizon and should be available shortly.

Event wise, we are hoping that within the next couple of months you'll be able to share anything you could ever want, or at least whatever you feel is necessary, starting with red cards and subs which will be added soon.

We hope people remain hungry for the data.

Cheers,

Mike

Hey all,

I'm back again just to quickly say we'll be covering Dulwich's pre-season games as well as the whole of the Isthmian Premier League live from tonight.

Since this time last year we've made considerable improvements to the app. This includes an improved design, new features and the addition of a whole host of leagues & competitions. Also the sheer number of reports from users and our improved aggregation means that we're now updating scores faster than ever before.

If you want to check us out the app is available on Android (http://crwd.sc/AndroidDHFC) and iOS (http://crwd.sc/iOSDHFC).

I'm glad to see that the sun is coming out in London as a few of us from the team are going to Champion Hill tonight!

Got no interest in the Isthmian Premier League...whatever that is. The team I support play in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

Just downloaded this - looks good. Will give it a go tonight.

Is it not the case that FootballWebPages isn't available on Android? I had it last season on my IPhone, but now I've switched to Android and I can't get it any more. So if there's an alternative service available that works on Android then I'm pretty pleased with that. Just downloaded CrowdScores so will check it out.

Just a pedantic point but notice we are just Dulwich and not Dulwich Hamlet or at minimum Dulwich H. Also kick off is 7.45

Yep...Dulwich Hamlet is the Club name. Dulwich folded over a hundred years ago. Hamlet is very much part of our name, in fact much more so than a bland 'City' 'Town' or 'United'.

Don't think there's an App on Android but there's certainly a mobile site you can get

What we have built is a platform for fans who want to share information with other people that can be instantly consumed in any situation. Instead of having to access a desktop or trawl through twitter or even message your friends directly so scores can spread by word of mouth, we instantly update the app with reports so that any Dulwich fan can access that information (and in turn they can provide you with updates for games that you may miss.)

Sorry for the Oscar speech, if anyone has any more questions or wants any more info just ask.

A lot of bookmakers already have this function on their own apps.

In Germany it worked fine.

Great to hear. Are you German? We are currently in the process of translating the app into European languages.

I believe FWP is still only available on iOS currently. Our league tables on the app are live updating and goals from every league/competition appear in our vidiprinter so our coverage of the Isthmian League Premier Division is better than most.

Sorry about the mistake. Our default 'short names' changed 'Dulwich Hamlet' to just 'Dulwich', we've now changed this to 'Dulwich H'.

It's also worth bearing in mind that's is a requirement of every Ryman League club to update the FWP system. Failure to do so can result in a fine. The information feeds into the vidiprinter which is easily accessed on mobile browsers (and an awful lot of so-called 'apps' are little more than mini browsers).

Because it's mandatory for clubs to update, the Ryman League vidiprinter is the most reliable source of real time match updates across the three divisions.

Finally, FWP was set up and run by a supporter of a Ryman League club (Kingstonian) and so as a service provider is pretty well placed to understand how the League operates and will liaise with the League over its development.

That's interesting - I didn't know it was a requirement. I certainly found FWP to be the best source of information on the Ryman League, either on the day (I have an android phone and just access it through my browser - it was really quick) or in advance, so I'll be sticking with that next season.

However, I don't think it's a bad thing that there is more than one option - so good luck with the CrowdScores app!

I've just had an update from Gary at FWP. He is developing an hybrid app which will work on ios, android and Windows mobile which will be available shortly after the start of the season. It will then be further developed to accommodate notifications which version 1 won't manage.

Good to know. I currently use Soccerway which is v good but doesn't go as far as actual lineups and player info.
