Ireland are all over Italy so it wont matter anyway....not:oops:
So what's this game like boys? I'm watching Paddy Power.

Spain are doing their usual 'we're taking our ball home' act and tapping it about to no great end product.

Croatia are well organised and better looking.

Has been short of real clear-cut chances but couple of through balls nearly came off for Spain. Agree that looked a penalty no problem for Croatia.

A Croatian goal would

Why are Italy above Croatia in the table as it stands. Head to Head they drew, and Croatia have scored more and have a higher goal difference.

Does anybody know how this "mini league" works out?! BBC commentary saying Italy are top but their website shows Spain as top

I think the Ireland score becomes irrelevant and they just work it out over their scores against each other?

That's right.

Spain and Croatia can't be separated on head to head so then the ireland game is considered, and spain scored more.

Neither can Italy , so it's goal difference ( the ireland game since the head to heads were all draws ) which puts it Spain, Croatia, Italy .

To explain the group rankings a bit further...

As 3 teams are level on points currently, there is a mini league of those three teams' results (i.e. excluding Ireland) to determine rankings. Currently this is:

Italy Pts 2 F 2 A 2
Spain Pts 2 F 1 A 1
Croatia Pts 2 F 1 A 1

Italy lead on goals scored in the mini league and therefore are top of the group. As Spain are tied with Croatia in the mini-league, it next goes to results in all the group games, and as Spain have the better goal difference (+4 v +2), they are ranked second.

This website explains quite well what happens.

That is the shitest way of doing it possible. Just do points, goal difference, head to head , then maybe move onto mini league.
