Also unfortunately there is still a lot of misunderstanding and stigma from support staff and other health care professionals. I could literally go on all day.
On the other hand my brother who has autism and learning disabilities is in a residential home and I can't talk highly enough of their support. His last place Milestones were utterly appalling and couldn't work with him. They told his new place that he was non communicative and as his new key worker said that's absulute bullshit. Unfortunately for us he now lives 70 miles away and it's much harder to see him.
