Comet NEOWISE (C/2020 F3) visible over the UK

I went and had a look when I saw this. South London is about the worst place to try and see anything in the sky to the north but I caught a faint non starlike blur through binoculars in about the right place.
Yup I'm south too, so from my viewpoint it was right over central london. Could still see it though.

I’m East with a North East facing garden, this morning I was looking East, North East, North North East, North and used a SkyView app to pinpoint some of the stars it should be close to - I could see Capella / Big Bear etc. clearly but not the comet, I set my alarm for 2:45 so was outside from 3 to 3:30 until clouds started coming over. Gutted :(

I’ll try again tonight if it’s clear.

I've found GoSkyWatch is the best app to locate it: How to find comet NEOWISE with the GoSkyWatch Planetarium app

I am going to Morden park in South West London to view the comet tonight. Got to see the heavenly body before it goes out of site. I have Olympus 10x50 binoculars.
Are there any other dark sky recommendations in South West London?

bright as anything here sub/urban cardiff. just looked out the window vaguely north in a gap in the clouds and there it was :) i'm usually asleep by 9 these days but couldn't sleep anyway. it's just down and to the right of the plough, as shown in diagrams on thread. just after dark. so reasonably high in the sky, but i guess getting dimmer now because it's headed away from the sun now?

am chuffed to bits to have seen one with my actual eyes :) and the kids were surprisingly keen, for teens, too

defo down and to the right, but quite a long way (twice the length between the two diagonal corners of the saucepan i was using for pointers). keep looking!
Think I saw it last night. But there's light pollution to the north of here and there was a bit of haze or whispy cloud in the area so not sure.

I may have better luck as it moves west over the next few days. :)

Halle Bopp was awesome, just couldn't quite get my head around why it wasn't rushing out of view, but was there night after night.
It used to sit in the sky above a long road I walked home from work each night - it was great to see it lurking there for such a long time. :)

Wonder how many of us will see Halley's Comet again when it returns in 2061. I probably won't, but the young 'uns on here might. That doesn't include you Bahnhof Strasse :p

It's clear here tonight, so might pop out later to see if I can spot the latest one.
