The Streets of San Francisco...guaranteed car chash and a credit sequence with a ride over the Golden Gate Bridge.

But of the two? Columbo obviously. I can imagine Quincy living out his retirement being a 'green ink letter writer' to newspapers about local youths breaking litter regs...

Are you a catholic traditionalist, or did you go to Oxford? Either way, *I* feel superior :D

Then perhaps you are proud of your Roman heritage?

*Direct decendant of Boudicca*

so basically you're saying you're an essex man..?

:p

Even in my drunken state I feel that, if I respond to this, I'm gonna turn into the next Ernesto, without the East-end chip shop empire

Yeah Quincy was a right dick head. Though the theme to Quincy was better.

Yes, but nicked from a 1930's song about nannies called "Other people's babies"!

I really can't decide...

I mean, Columbo had Shatner as a villain...

But Quincy was on Diagnosis Murder...

So they're even tied on bonus points :(

Not so. Shatners evil schemes for galactic domination and chart succes were twice fioled by the cunning sleuth doubling the bonus points and one more thing...

Am I imagining this but didn't Jack Klugman lose his marbles for a while and start turning up at hospitals/mortuaries claiming to be Quincy?

Columbo's great, of course, but Quincy has its own special place of merit.

You have to understand about Jack Klugman, coming off the Odd Couple stint, and basically carrying the Oscar persona into the autopsy room.

Also worthy of mention, Robert Ito as sidekick Sam Fujiyama, and John Ragin as eye-on-the-bottom-line snivel servant boss Dr. Astin.

Classic Seventies tv.

Jimmy Saville just turns up claiming to be Jimmy Saville.

Does any one remember the episode of Quincy where he tackled the perils of punk rock? :D And won  Surely he gets points for that!
