But a bit more boring and factual, plus recent such document can be found - search for Rowntree Foundation and their recent reports (last 3-4 years) and you will see US and UK at the bottom of the world's social mobility "league", with the respective educations systems as the vehicle that perpetuate the inequality in these societies...
And the education systems might not be the greatest in the world, for the money they pay for it - but their privileged students are prepared in terms of networking, they learn to speak "properly" (with a "proper" accent), which pieces of cutlery are used for which course etc. etc.
