Ultimately disappointing result but an enjoyable game to watch IMO. Was really impressed with Hazard and some real promise from new signings Luis and Remy . We had some really good chances that we should have converted Fabregas in particular but I won't knock our 36 year old Drogba even though he probably wasn't match fit. Disappointed in Rameires though undisciplined, very often out of position and generally ineffective.

The commentators were annoying last night banging on about "not the Drogba of old", "the old Drogba would have put that away", etc, etc.
He was ok. Getting into positions, still a handful for defenders. If he lacked a bit of finishing sharpness it's probably more down to lack of football than age or fitness. You can't judge him on one game and it was great to watch.
Got to give credit to Schalke though. Their defending in front of goal was excellent and Huntelaar was a bit good too. They deserved the point.

The media and tabloids are continuing all this "not the old Drogba" nonesense. It's just lazy journalism.
Let's hope that someone at the club explains all this to Costa so he knows what to expect when he has a bad spell.
Agree too that Schalke looked good, a bit like Atletico last season and caught us out a bit which made for a great game.

The City game will be very interesting. If the rumours are true about Costa should we risk him and take City on like we did Everton?
Or should we take a few spare buses up like we did last year in what was one our best results of the season (along with the Anfield win) and play for the fast breaks. We have enough talent not to worry about leaving Costa out and just tightening up in the middle of the park and hope for a bit of sparkle upfront from Hazard, Oscar, Schurlle, Remy or Drogba.

It was a good game and I thought we had pulled it off again but if you asked this morning if I'd be happy with a point the I would have said yes.
Still room for improvement and not just Schurlle's tracking back. Courtois needs to work on his distribution and the number of times that Willian and Ramires gave the ball away was really frustrating.
Lampards equaliser was classic, how many times have we seen him do that in Royal
Blue? Surely someone could have closed him down. Having said that his reception from our fans was unique.

Had to watch that in a pub packed with City supporters lol although to be fair I know a lot if them. Everyone buoyed up by uniteds humiliating defeat earlier. Predictable tactics from both managers really which mirrored last seasons games ie we do the Ali rope a dope and let them come on to us and then use Hazard and William as the counter. Quite a physical battle overall I really enjoyed Mattic versus Ya Ya . It was odds on that there would be a second yellow and actually it should have been Silva that went first.
Thought we had all three points , Costa hit the post and then the horrible but predictable sight of Frank scoring. Happy with the point though as I can't see past city and us for the league tbh.

Shrewsbury away in the next round. Years ago we went up there with our usual blue strip and change strip of yellow only to find out they played in blue and yellow stripes and the ref was having none of it. We ended up playing in a botched up red strip and if I remember correctly we got thrashed 3-0.

They all were the other night but a win is a win. We shouldn't disrespect Maribor in the next two games either,they could snatch points from us if we don't take our chances.
We're gonna miss Ashley against the Gooners on Sunday. He always raised his game to silence the boo- boys.
Wellbeck will be out to prove a point to his old club that he can cut it in the big games as well as Champions League.
It's gonna be a great game, Costa will love it.

Men against boys today . I don't remember Arsenal having a shot on target . Wenger was simply embarassing. Mourinho tactically superb .

Brilliant tactics, Arsenal were getting well annoyed hence the rash challenges. They simply couldnt stop Hazard without fouling him.
Oscars performance was one of his best, again superb management by Mourinho to see his commitment to the team as a unit while at the same time letting Mata and Lukaku go as good as they are individually.
The meedya are making big of this Courtois incident, quite frankly they cant think of anything else to put us down with as we enter another international break.
