Lampard looks like he might be loaned to City in order to keep fit for the MSL.Doesnt look like he will play against us but great opportunity to see him again in the EPL.

Whilst I don't expect friendliest to be covered by any newspaper aside from short summaries I was intrigued that the same night that the super cup was being played the Guardian sent both their chief football correspondent and their full time Manchester United correspondent to cover uniteds friendly last night.

Don't be worrying about United Step...They are Involved with MK Dons in that Cup while bigger teams like ourselves and Hull City are concentrating on Europe

Oh well, City top after all the weekends goings on. Looks like its down to us to show them who's boss starting tonight.

Not impressed with anyone else, Arsenal Liverpool Everton and Spuds all looked mundane, Utd looked worse.
At the other end Ferdinand was an embarrasment at QPHaHa and Palace should have points deducted for time wasting tactics on the opening day of the season. Burnley will be more inspired tonight knowing that these two teams are worse than them but i think we will have enough class to be sitting on top of the table tonight.

We looked very good in the first half and cruised through the second.the team needs some more game time but what we saw last night was very very encouraging.

Fab was superb with a range of passing that reminded me so much of Frank and Mattic was 100% in charge in midfield.

Costa is quick strong direct and gets involved early, he is going to be a handful and the first Charles Bronson look a like in the EPL.

Impressive stuff for a first game. Looks like Fabregas will allow Hazard more freedom, lot's of big strong players for set pieces. Quality and depth. Would still like another striker though.

Good start but shame about their goal. If we're going to compete with City this season we've got to be really thumping the Burnleys and Stokes 3, 4, and 5 nil, from the off.

That he did, his goal was sublime and hopefully a taste of what's to come with this new set up.
Can see a similar pattern tomorrow with Leicester having a go but the pure class we have should win us the game.

Meantime it's been a funny old week watching Liverpool chase another loony and Palace/Cardiff in meltdown

Leicester played well first half , could have scored second half with their only chance. We were far better in the second half . Costa is just what we have been lacking .
