Charity Shop Bargains

Took a few days off and tried to go to a town that advertises itself as a book hub to browse the books. Got there and it was closed--the whole town! Turns out they had a festival that started the next day and they all closed to retool. So I hit all of the charity shops I could find between there and home. I found:

* 1 pair of brand new motorcycle boots by Harley Davidson - $3.00
* 1 pair of black dress pants $4.00
* 1 grey tunic $2.00
* black tank top $1.00
* Black dress flats $3.00
* New, army green winter parka $5.00
* a hand-thrown pottery Japanese cooking pot called a donabe, used for cooking at the table. $4.00 (These things can go for $150). It's a nice expansion of my handmade pottery collection.

Last purchase was a brand new with labels dress from monsoon for a fiver :cool: wore it Friday night for our night out in London. At the moment it’s more a drop off than pick up as I’m moving house

this Mid-century design classic for a tenner yesterday. :cool:

When we’re on holidays we always find a charity shop, give the kids €2 each and tell them to find a toy and a book. They think they’ve hit the jackpot.

Also, kid’s jigsaws in charity shops are usually surprisingly complete.
