I think I saw that two local guides who had been hand holding this guy have been caught and could face 15 years in prison. Hope the Minnesotan could face the same.
I wonder if they could remove the cubs for rearing and release them later, rather than allow the new male to kill them - as instinct would insist. To save the genes, as it were.
I have no repeatable words to express my contempt for that thing what shot Cecil. I'll not dignify it with the term man.
I don't understand the fetishism of wanting to shoot animals with a cross bow. In this case, as I suspect with many others, the animal would only be injured requiring a rifle to actually kill them. Seems extra cruel to me.
Anyhow, hope the local police catch this guy and throw the book at him for poaching.
Are you sure about that?I think we have to remember that Attenborough, hail be his name, when he started out making programs would travel to special places, watch exotic animals and then kill them and bring their bodies back to the UK as exhibits.
A rare moment when you and I agree about somethingWhat is wrong with these fuckers? I have no problem with people killing animals for food, but to kill something just for the sake of it... How does that make you any different from a psychopath?
That's what I heard on the radio yesterday. There are six of themReport I read said they were just going to kill the cubs for their own good .
Yes I am fairly sure. I can recall an interview when he was asked about it, it was right when he was starting out when that was the done thing. Don't recall which animals specifically though. Are you sure about that?
wolves, I'm telling you, wolves. There is only one species on this earth that will track as long and hard to a kill than wolves, and that is us. With no helpers or anything- the 'pack' he essentially travelled with, the score would be even stevens. He can keep his crossbow, wolves have got speed and teeth so thats fair. Not even liam neeson could best a wolf pack when they are feeling that late-winter gnawing in their bellies
I believe this is the perpetrator with another of his trophies:

There's an element of blood lust involved in shooting things for fun, which is not even close to fishing on levels of fucking with animals who were perfectly happy doing their thing.
you'd better be a good and sure shot to take down a charging rhino because if you miss they will close the distance and fuck you right up. Although I suppose hunters always keep downwind, stalk the creature silently and then shoot it. Wouldn't want a fair fight obvsFucking hell, would love to see those smug smiles wiped off their faces. I can't see why anyone would feel proud abut that, especially when these animals are close to extinction. Plus I can't imagine it's awfully difficult to a point a gun at a big creature and hit it.

by no means. his being hunted down by someone with a bow seems only fairI think I saw that two local guides who had been hand holding this guy have been caught and could face 15 years in prison. Hope the Minnesotan could face the same.
Cecil is a crackers name for a lion.

Why do people who go fishing catch fish then throw them back again?
This small-town Minnesota dentist presumably grew up hunting deer and moose and whatever, became very good at it, and made enough money that he could go around the world killing lions and rhinos and whatever the fuck else he wanted. It's stupid, fucked-up, and selfish behavior - but there will always be people like him around, and I hope some of the wrath directed at him is also directed at the system that encourages it to happen.
Yes, I heard a report saying that also. But I think this particular guy also prefers to use his bow.Again , according to the report I read a couple od days ago the crossbow was used for little more than to keep the kill silent and avoid being caught

I've read/heard loads of interviews and this hasn't ever been brought up. It's a pretty serious allegation the make with no evidence other than a vague memory.Yes I am fairly sure.
