Car smashes through Edmonton police station

Edmonton police station all cordoned off after car smashes through the front of the station.

Intentional by the looks of it

Footage posted to social media showed a man appearing to exit the crashed vehicle, before walking into the road pouring a flammable liquid.


The man then lit a strip of fire across an entire lane, directly in front of two buses.
A police car arrived just as the man ignited the liquid and an officer appeared to quickly detain him.
“At around 18:58 on Wednesday, 11 November a vehicle collided with the station office at Edmonton Police Station,” Scotland Yard said in a statement.

“A man – no further details – has been detained in connection with the incident. The vehicle remains at the scene. Specialist officers are in attendance while it is examined.

To be fair, many buildings in Edmonton could only be improved by a car smashing into them.

“Videos of the incident showed the sole occupant of the car, which was lodged in the front of the police station, getting out. A petrol can is taken from the rear seat, then fuel is poured on the police station, car, and street, before being set alight.

Officers are heard to shout “get back” before dousing the flames in the road.

The man appears to then be tackled by police. The investigation is initially trying to determine if the crash was accidental or deliberate.”
