OK, folks, post your top beefheart tunes here.......

I love this thread and call for many more. For me, the Captain is up there with Syd Barrett, Prince, the wonders of nature and Jesus.:)

my favourite trackle is Full Moon Hot Sun, right here

Pretty much anything from Safe As Milk.

It was played to me as a baby, and it's an album that's never been too far from the top of the pile since.

Fantastic clips, didn't even know they existed.

Loved this comment on there.
Like an old weird mechanical thing you found in your Great Grandfather's garage. You don't exactly know what it is, but man it makes this cool noise.

Great clip. :)

Are the Magic Band still going? We had them on down here in Penzance a bit back and they were fucking brilliant, even minus the Captain himself.

Saw them a couple of years back and they were great, although i think Drumbo is getting a bit egomaniacal about it, like instead of them keeping the Captain's flame alive, he's trying to push himself as the frontman too much. That said, they were ace so it doesn't matter :)

I know what you mean. They (or rather he) did the Captain Beefheart solo number off 'Trout Mask' ('Orange Claw Hammer' is it?) when I saw 'em. That was pushing it a bit, I thought.

Still, he did a good job of it, I've gotta admit. He's got a fucking great voice and is probably the only person for the job. And there were some other great moments that night - 'Abba Zaba' took off and went on for ages, just getting better and better. Not many people could pull that off.

I hope they stick around. I'd love to see them again. :)
