Isn't it American robins that carry the really nasty veriosn of bird flu that you can catch just by being in the same county as them?

Serioulsy tho Stobs do think you should inform the RSPB cos there may be some sort of trend of birds crossing the atlantic, global warming etc and the fact that there now appear to be two of these birds may be important research blah, blah, blah!

The bird in that link has a much lighter beak than the one in the garden.Maybe it's dirt, it's digging up the lawn and it's making a bit of a mess.
I Have just googled the images and the beaks can appear black, depending on the angle of the bird. This is almost an exact replica of the one in the garden:

Just did a quick search, and it even made the papers in America, where it's about as rare as a blackbird is here.

Blackbirds can't be that rare, we see loads around here.These ones:

We have a nature reserve on the other side of the railway embankment, so we get quite a variety of birds in this area.
