Brixton property developers Lexadon: Gerry Knight fined £175k under Proceeds of Crime Act

Excellent result

Charming Jerry has responded in person:

The tenant in question had benefitted from a low rent for many years.
The landlord increased the rent to the current market rate in line with other similar properties at the block.
All negotiations were made directly with the tenant only.
Acorn and others certainly had no influence on the landlord’s actions.

How can this crook and his gang get away with never doing what he should be doing? Like fixing the flats for the ripped off tenants, for example?

I'll reply to my own question. People don't get organised enough to kick some shit. Much easier to do nothing and let him get away with extortion and bullying, supported by a dodgy council that has been in power for millennia and should be voted out and replaced by a Green.

They probably get a bonus for being absolutely horrible to people. THAT'S A WARNING! They treat renters like SHIT.

Is Lexadon worse than Foxtons? Discuss.
No discussion. Yes, they are. They are fucking evil.

Lexadon's response to just about every negative review is to claim that the comment hasn't come from an actual tenant - like they're going to give their real name and email address to the review.

Damning piece here. This is the same property they tried to enforce a 74% ret increase on.

So Jerry Knight is blaming everyone but his own company.

There has been no neglect by Lexadon who have only recently acquired the site which is in serious disrepair.

A resident got in touch with a document showing that far from taking over the site ‘recently,’ Lexadon actually took over ownership in April 2023.

That’s 1 year, 5 months and 22 days ago.

Lexadon being shit landlords again:

HAHAHHAHHA! Only £15,290 in fines?! It should be much more!

It's amazing that this guy is not in jail. Maybe they are waiting until someone dies in one of his properties, then something will be done.

Looks to me a bit like the author of the Brixton Buzz article may have got things confused - I think the text it displays (talking about mould and broken windows etc) is referring to another case, not the Lexadon case. I think it's another case that was being used as precedent for what should happen when a landlord doesn't have HMO licences in place.
