Now go to Yummies in Trethomas (nr Caerphilly) as good as I've had in London... Not been to the one in Blackwood ...but its the same bunch of Geezers

their £12 ...yes £12 special ...... usually covers me for next days brekkie as well (and the dog)

Cheese and chips seems to be a bit of a thing in the valleys , cant remember seeing in in the east end ....

Chips and cheese and curry ? WTF ....? not tried it .... maybe next time just for the lutz !

Its got a bit of a hit and miss on the reviews due to the squirts ......cant say I've ever had a spray , myself ! , other than a bit of follow on chilli ring burn next morning ...which to me is the sign of a decent chilli sauce !.... Maybe the local valley commandoes prefer their mutton a bit more .....errr ...fresh ....and kicking .....dunno

This is my local. It didn't do spectacularly well on the Penzance Hygiene Charts that came out in the local paper recently but the blokes that work there are friendly, their chicken shish is a belter, they once invited me in to get cleaned up when a seagull managed to shit in my ear and then offered me a job.

Update: I popped in on the way home and can report that Alverton Kebab now proudly displays a 5 star Hygiene rating sticker in its window. So please ignore my previous comment. The bit about a seagull shitting in my ear / them offering me a job is still correct.

You and marty21 should have your work to promote the kebab recognised

Ahh back when I lived in Hoxton (a decade BEFORE it was trendy, just cos I know people will rib me about it otherwise) there was a fantastic kebab place at the southern end of Kingsland Road, quite near the railway bridge that went over the road.

That place basically ruined any other kebab for me, was so good.

for me finchley kebab will always be the defining kebab shop

In the good ole days, the shoddily named Kebab and wine in east dulwich had a special secret room out back for VIPs and esteemed guests, where they could drink efes and eat flesh analogue until dawn with the nodding acceptance of the local popo. I only ever went for the beer and was invariably castigated by the owners on a regular basis

Voted for Kings Grill in Reading.

Great kebab, great staff, very clean store. Meat is so tender, great flavour, good salad mix. Not found a decent replacement in Devon and don’t think I will.
