Brentwood Town vs Dulwich Hamlet - Tuesday 12th April

But you were happy enough in the Rising Sun, with their name on one of the England flags ?
Most people just see the massive IINNNGGERLAND flag - and all the well reported negatives that some may associate with it - rather than the name of the pub. If it was my club, I would have made a flag based around Brentwood's badge or the pub sign or a big pint of beer, not an England flag.

For transparency, I've reported your post for sexism. Last time it was transphobic nastiness. When are you going to get the message: there isn't a place for that at DHFC.
I wasn't sure if that was what he meant - that's why I asked for clarification. If it was as disgustingly sexist as it sounded, then a temp ban will be coming right up.

Please explain yourself clearly DonkeyAssessor because your previous answer didn't make sense.

As I have said already, mine says South London across it, just showing what part of England I/we are from and as we play many games outside South London, I don't see a problem!

I will add I bought mine whilst following England abroad and have never bothered bringing it to a DHFC game as I can't be bothered to go searching the loft for it...

Sometimes sadly I think people read into theses things to much.
What would you read into one with "Loyal" on it?

I saw that explanation and thought it was weak back peddling. If he has got an actual explanation then I'm happy to hold my hands up for getting the wrong end of the stick.

There was a Dog training centre adjacent to the ground.

I don't know exactly where the editors photographs were taken around or in the ground , and asked a perfectly civil question.

As another poster has just stated, perhaps some people read too much into posts.

It didn't look like it was taken at the leisure centre !

Why on earth would you think there would be a photo taken at the dog training centre during the middle of the game?

I made no mention of ever going there and even if I had, it would have no place in a match report. Hmmmm.....

Were all your pictures taken in the middle of the game ?

That and their order wasn't clear.

What had the tractor to do with it ? except it was clear the pitch had been ploughed up .

I don't buy it. You were making a cheap shot about the woman in the window.

Are the flag haters unhappy with the cross of St.George, the Union Flag or both at football matches. There was a time when most clubs had their names emblazoned on the Union Flag for domestic and England matches, then the comment was made that the Union Flag wasn't representative of the England team so fans started using the cross of St. George. It's hardly football supporters' fault the National flag has been hijacked by those with ultra right political views but you can't tar everyone with the same brush. The Welsh and Scots have idiots and anti-English racists amongst their numbers too.

I'll agree putting a club name/pub/home town across the centre is hardly original, but it's not all nasty.

The tractor WAS IN THE GROUND. I didn't go out of the ground in the middle of the game, walk some hundreds of metres into the adjacent Dog Training centre (which was most likely closed) and then take a single photo to include in my photo report without any explanation at all, and then return to the game.

I wouldn't read anything in to it. I would take it to mean what it's supposed to mean!

Obviously depending what other words where on it.

Nothing wrong with "Loyal Dulwich" etc...
I think you're taking things too much at face value, "it's just an England flag", "Maybe they're loyal to Brentwood" .

These are associated with certain things and that is why they were on display last night.

What else was written on the Wes'tam flag, was it humour?

This. Particularly in context of the monkey noises and other comments.

The opinion of 2,600 doesn't really represent the nation does it?
Its actual quite a big sample size for a survey.

Sampling can be a complex process to understand, but on most occasions a sample of 400-500 will be sufficient for most in-house studies – again this is dependent on the level of subgroup analysis needed and also the penetration of the target group in the population. The greater the number of population groups that need to be analysed may increase the sample size needed, as typically for findings to be statistically valid a minimum of 100 in a subgroup is required. A larger overall sample of 1000+ is normally required if findings need to be nationally representative.

Out of interest, if you heard monkey noises, took the cross of St George flag as racist, their fans were aggressive... Why not confront them? Keeping quiet at the game then bringing it up here does the sum total of fuck all to solve it
I'd imagine that trying to confront the kind of people who think like that on their own turf in the midst of a football game may result in you getting dragged into a punch up. Far better to lodge official complaints with the club: after all, it's their fucking problem to sort out.

We didn't keep quiet. We sang over them.

What would a confrontation achieve?

Complaints about the comments and the monkey noises have been/are being made via the official channels.

Official complaints to the club? I'd like to think they'd take them seriously but let's not hold our breath eh? There's a fuckload more of us than them, as is the case at virtually every ground we go to. If a local fucknut does kick off when confronted, they'll go all meek like when we all turn.

I'm not being argumentative, and I'm not advocating violence (!) but being passive and turning the other cheek to complain later just gives them the opportunity to have a pop at the next target.

Over sang? Wonderful.

And the next game they'll have forgotten about us and moved onto the next target.
