Black metal that is not politically dodge

in a fairly unexpected turn of events I came across what looks like the full set of Burzum reissues in a charity shop.
I'm quite magnetically attracted to their evil.
I expect they came to someone local-ish as review copies, I'd be giving a couple of quid to a good cause and not to Vikernes
so morally, I think I'm in the clear there. Unless it turns me into a racist while I sleep.
although as I understand it - the songs aren't really political anyway and all the nazi business arrived when he was in prison
I'm not really the biggest fan but I might pop back and get 'Filosofem', or are there others I should consider

any qbuyer beware advice from the group?

get them all, but listen to them secretly.

Christ, I don't think I can be arsed with that - the prison albums and everything since are supposed to be cack anyway aren't they?
I'm listening to 'hvis lyset tar oss' on the youtubes which is probably adequate for my requirements
I don't listen to all that much of this stuff and there's plenty of other things with which to scratch that itch
I think it was the brief joy of their mysterious appearance between the old celebrity christmas albums and landfill indie cast offs
that I was most excited about rather than actually listening to them all that much.
I did get the first Moon Duo thing for a quid though.
I don't give that much of a toss about them either but I'm much more likely to play it.

Make sure you stuff your underpants with stinging nettles as a penance before heading off to purchase them.
On your return you should apply a balm of asafoetida and St John's Wort to your buttocks, whilst playing Dunkelheit at full volume.

Filosofem is dull but listenable. The others are boring as shit. I love black metal but even if I saw Burzum discs in a charity shop I'd probably not bother. Have a look through the classical items they've got and have one of them instead

Just wanted to post (first time here, hello) to say this whole thread is brilliant. I kind of 'got out of' metal for years (loads of reasons), having probably been much less aware of bands' politics when I was younger, except for the 'obvious' stuff (Burzum etc). Now I'm delving back in its a nightmare and I'm sick of having to search "[Band name] racist" every time I find something new!! So yeah, thank you for this!

It's a valuable service for sure, which is why it is such a shame that the RABM blog has gone quiet in favour of the board on reddit.

I'd like to recommend sitting down with the new Feminazgul album and a nice cup of tea.

e2a: And I've literally just seen that there is a new Panopticon EP which I will be giving my attention next, with 'Every penny I receive from this release will be forwarded to musicians that I know who are struggling from cancelled gigs and tours, lost income that they depended on.
If you know anyone who is hard up during this time, please feel free to drop me a line and let me know who. This is a dark time. Lets look out for one another.'
