Best Posh Chocolate !

Recommendations please ! I like to give chox to everyone at Christmas and was a-pondering ordering some from a makery near us however they cost out at £2 per truffle, which although these things are 'lishous, are wasted on the utter peasants I'm related to. Yes I'm aware of Thorntons, Lily O'Brien's etc and yes I do know that a slab of Galaxy is probably better value but I like to treat my nearest and dearest occasionally. (I'm also aware that Moser Roth from Aldi is often as good as some really expensive chocolate but hate to see their little faces fall when I hand it over. As I said, they're utter peasants :D)

So ! What posh chocolate would make you happy ?

oooh yunno this was one of my possibles, the one with popping candy is lovely.

I think they're reasonably priced as well on Amazon (don't knock me,, it's by far the easiest way to send them to her) and better than the likes of Lily O'Brien and Hotel Chocolat. Most of my chocolate knowledge comes via my mum and I agree with her on Monty Bojangles.
I always liked Montezuma especially the chill one but not sure what they do besides bars.

Not exactly posh chocolate on the level you maybe have in mind, but if you can get hold of any Fazer Finnish chocolate, it‘s a definite cut above the normal bars in flavour.

Genuinely luxurious, delicious chocs, from a socially useful enterprise. Splash out on one of their selection boxes or buy a bar from Aldi if you're gifting to philistines :D

I'll look it up and thank you :D

I really like Rococo chocolate.

But the range of options has increased vastly since I first decided they were my chocolatier of choice. This thread will inspire me to try others.

Do your recipients like licorice izz ? Lakrids do some amazing licorice chocolate. You can find it on-line at Sous Chef and Selfridges and probably more ...

These are actually quite cheap, but ohmyfuckingGOD soooo tasty, and incredibly moreish.

Mathez French Cacao Truffles. I'm foregoing my usual big box of Thorntons for these.

My folks made the mistake od leaving a box of Thorntons in front of me while the football was on last night. I was quite restrained eating just 5, I thought.
I have eaten the best part of a big box of their Continental truffles many a time on Xmas Day. Made meself proper sick.

They look very like the truffles from Aldi that punt out for hardly anything but are totally lush. (actually what I could do is buy a boat-load and re-box them..... :D )

I've got Chococo advent calendars for the wife a few times and they've been a hit. Chococo Home Page

Last year she got Hotel Chocolat and wasn't as happy. This year I went for a Wickedly Welsh one, but what with it being November there's no feedback yet. Chocolate Gift Boxes and Hampers

This isn't what you asked but if you want some outstanding chocolate, you could do worse than Bullion. I'm not really into chocolate but this stuff is mind-blowing. Bullion Chocolate

If you're thinking of something chocolate-adjacent, don't buy any fancy biscuits from The Biscuiteers. They may look amazing but they have hardly any taste at all. :(

Thank you for the warning but as it happens I don't need it on account of being gifted a tin some years ago. They were definitely crunchy but for the life of me I had no idea what they were made from, they tasted like stale tapwater in solid form :D
