Nah, i was thinking of that crap liverpool gnagster one released last year/early this - it's so shit i can't recall the name, but i do recall turning it off. Bog standard young lieutenant wants to take org over but must defy his...BROTHER...to do so. Lots of well known faces. Absolute piss.

Searching for 'Liverpool gangsters' on IMDb has been instructive, in that there appear to be few films so described

2000's Going Off Big Time (thoughtfully retitled Liverpool Gangster for the German market, it seems) does however look like a treat, scripted by Neil 'Ray Von' Fitzmaurice and starring Stan Boardman alongside Sarah Alexander from Coupling.
