Bearded Theory Festival - news and discussion

If it wasn't for William's premature departure, I would have been holding back to buy tickets.

I know at Bearded I will be able to raise a glass to him as there's NO guarantee I'll be able to get a Glastonbury ticket.

Mr Riff came up with the rather genius idea of meeting up (no idea of time, dato or lication) with a tin of locally-brewed beer from whatever part of the country you're from.

Initial line up for 2023 announced...and its a corker imho. Definitely buying tix for this: For us we 're already looking forward to the lovely eggs, pigsx7, snapped ankles, warmduscher, viagra boys, stick in the wheel with loads of others we'll probs watch like primal scream, gary numan etc. Looks good to me 😄

Millie’s brilliant. Hopefully will try get to this .
as long as they don't get the sound engineer from GG. jebus. 35 minutes of "can we get that instrument up that person's nose ... no further... thanks... can we get that banana more grilled ... yeah ... with salt .... can we get less drums in our monitors... can you put them in someone else's monitors? ... no the guitar is supposed to be feeding back ... not into that ... OUCH not like that..."

You can tell that a small festival you used to love and indeed occasionally work at has gone down the dirty road of commercialism under the new regime when they send you an e-mail flogging festive jumpers!

All the more reason to make this my last Bearded.

That's why I've held off buying a ticket for 2023 Riff. They've even erased the beard from the logo. Where it says Bearded Theory it could say anything frankly. And as people on the Facebook group have pointed out, leaving it this late in December to advertise them means the wading through treacle postal service is unlikely to get them to punters by Xmas and who wants to wear a jumper in May heat.

Yes, changing the Beard logo to a nondescript blob is frankly lazy. There probably won't even be a false beard record attempt next year. :(

So can anyone recommend similar festivals to bearded? We will go this year cause we like the lineup but we're open to alternatives as well, esp. if they retain the broadly anti-corporate approach and being vegan friendly helps as well. We don't like anything too big like Glastonbury, went to beautiful days last year that was quite good. 2000 trees is near us, never been tho and the lineup doesn't appeal much. Oh, and we'll probably go to one of the something else mini festivals too.
