BBC going down the pan

Anyone seen the new footie reporting on the beeb?
I don't like it, it's not nearly as clear as the old style.

They've changed the way you get to tables too. Usually, I can click on any table then use the search at the top to change it to the Championship (which was saved as a favourite). Now when you click on it, it offers a million search options of which the championship is one but it's lost in all the other options.

They also changed the News home screen recently and local news now doesn't show on it anymore. Which is very annoying.

The BBC match reports always feel clunky to me, too, hard to find what you're looking for. Guardian's much better.

When I want to find the start time of matches it's often hidden away somewhere.

It looks like they set a designer with no interest in football on the site "We want more white space it looks prettier". No I want the fucking information as soon as I can get it.

This is probably largely me getting old but I hate the summary clips of games on MotD and the like that they've let designers loose on - there's dozens of really short clips of goals all jammed together that are supposed to get people really excited and generate an atmosphere but which actually hurt your eyeballs if you want to see what's happening and then they spend half the clip time showing the fucking players' fucking celebrations grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Don't like it either. Just give me the basic score listing. Ditch the badges. Smacks of an online production journalist having too much time on their hands and jazzing up something that was best when it was simple.

A errr little yellow bird tells me that all of this has happened because the publishing system is changing and all the infrastructure that the old format lives on is going away with it, so the current new iteration is a somewhat hurried response to that. The BBC is ahem not an especially well-resourced organisation but I think in enough time the obvious improvements will be made to this stuff. The feedback is very clear and received.

BBC website for football today has been rubbish. I didn't like the new style anyway but the front of the scores page was not updating and then you go to an individual match and that too is showing a different incorrect story.
