Best thing to do on this map is too make sure all the major routes are mined and covered. For example, if you look on the minimap, you will see the broad roads; these are the main access points to the market spawn and the crashsite.
A good tactic was last night when we managed to capture the slums and then hold off the allied advance. That worked very well, as long as we stayed back and didn’t get too close to the base!
I think that the best tactic is too set up on the crest of the hill on the main road, this way you are far enough away but if you have a sniper rifle or a PKM then you are sorted for the match!
The main key is cover for groundpounders, if you get people into high positions too look over the flags, you are almost certain to cap and hold the flags. I propose that GS provides the cover for GA, make sure we have snipers high up and guys on the ground cover the exits to the flags too stop anyone sneaking up and taking us out.
Also we should have a spotter covering the main base, looking out for movement, making sure we know what’s coming. I.E if we know a Bradley has just started to move out, we can set up an ambush for it, make sure we have 3 RPG guys waiting for it too blow it too kingdom come!
The key too this map though is speed, we need good drivers in the hummers to get us to the flags quickly, and firepower counts. Everyone should be kitted out as an assault troop and 3 or 4 with RPGS/SMAWS to take out any vehicles that come screaming around the corner at us. Also the anti-tank guys can lay a few mines at hotspots to stop any advance by enemy vehicles around the back of the troops.
Also I notice that the right side of the map is very underused. Most people tend too go straight to the slums and crashsite. Using the right of the map is a handy way of flanking the enemy forces too get too the market flag.
I think the key is holding the crashsite and the slums, the market spawn is quite difficult to defend because the Iraqi base is very close and the opposition can organise an effective assault from both sides.
As long as you dominate the slums and crashsite, you should be laughing.
Defensively, you need too keep at least 2 people at a flag to defend. One is just not enough. You need one scouting round looking for the enemy, and one well hidden so he cannot be killed easily and can sneak up on any enemy that comes within range of the flag.
In my verdict this map is best suited to 10v10 or 12v12 no less.
