Yeah, I was really worried the hype would adversely affect her but nope. And she's only 22!Awesome Keely made up for her.
Was the Kenyan attempting a bit of product placement there?
Give her a chance,World record perhaps for KH next
Yep, 800m is a difficult one tactically as if you’re at the back or get boxed in you can have too much to do in too little timeIt's all well and good having the expectations and the talent but executing it all perfectly is brilliant to see. Well done Keeley, fantastic gold.
Her camp have been saying she is in 1:53 shape, she’s certainly in the form of her life!Give her a chance,
I think she'll really go for it now as she has ticked this one off and finally got that global gold. There was half a thought it might go here but the gold was the only thing that mattered and she achieved that brilliantly.World record perhaps for KH next
Yeah, Michael Johnson made the good point that when you're running the 200/400m, you're in a lane so really what other people do or don't do doesn't really affect you. But with the 800m etc, getting in the wrong place or the actions of others can completely screw you so you have to think about and be aware of all that too, rather than just concentrating pm your own race.Yep, 800m is a difficult one tactically as if you’re at the back or get boxed in you can have too much to do in too little time
At least let the poor lassie have a cup of tea/glass of champagne first! Her camp have been saying she is in 1:53 shape, she’s certainly in the form of her life!
Yes it’s one of those track records from the 80s that’s dodgy as anythingIsn't the women's 800m one of the longest standing WRs? Kratochvilova?
Barry Manilow?Swedish fella with the great hair isn't content with a mere gold, he needs a record too
Yep, 1:53.28 from 26/7/1983. Just over 41 years old!Isn't the women's 800m one of the longest standing WRs? Kratochvilova?
