In years to come, will we see Bolt on the BBC pundit team like Johnson, or will he go elsewhere?

I mean, this is what we're all thinking right now, right?

I totally guess that Bolt will retire to an environment where the most strenuous vertical thing he does regularly is a amble down to the shops and back.

Those must be the slowest times for silver and bronze in a mens 200m final since 1984 or something. Ho hum.
It was very strange and, because the race was just after a downpour, it got me thinking about how weather (high/low pressure perhaps....?) affects performance.

The funny thing was, this race, which was to be one of the stellar events of the games, felt like a bit of a damp squib - and I don't think it was just because of the times recorded.

He does it all the time this one. Apparently he set a new world record last time he did it, so maybe he thinks it's lucky and planned it this time.

Marathon runners often take Imodium before setting off so it's odd that Diniz didn't make the necessary preparations, particularly if he has form for browning up the course.

You're right. Rain + no serious competition for Bolt + sadness for the end of an era = slow times + damp squib final (relatively speaking).

They're just doing a little feature on Daley Thompson.

It's easy to remember him as some amiable geezer and you sort of think maybe the event was not as developed when he was competing. But when they run through all of his events, you see just how staggeringly good he was in almost every single event. To see a big man like that being world class even in the high jump and pole-vault is incredible.

He broke the world record for his event four times and walked away with two Olympic gold medals.

The British team in the mens' 4x400 has got to be the weakest for a long time. I think hopes of a medal are slim.

eta  That was classy, though!

The disqualification is baffling. I can only assume it was for excessive pointing at team mates by Rooney once the race has finished. Wouldn't be surprised if GB are reinstated.

They've been focussing on the change-overs. Have they looked at whether anyone stepped inside their lane?

Kemboi was disqualified for one mis-step in the steeplechase.

*rubs blurry eyes*

I love the relays, will be gutted if the men's 4x400 aren't in the final. Mind you 4x100 gives me palpatations hoping no one drops the baton!!
