Anyone local able to fix headphone leads?

I've got three pairs of fairly cheap but good sounding headphones which have become unusable because the plug has broken. I've had a go at fixing them myself but my rubbish soldering iron (and equally rubbish soldering skills) have failed to deliver.

The cable is made from that strange material where you have to burn off the thin covering to reconnect the cables. Happy to reward with beers, cash or even a hallowed urban75 t shirt....

If you can wait until 16 July you could go along to the Restarters event in Tooting. Volunteers are in hand to help fix all sorts of stuff, like your headphones. I think this is the nearest one to you.
