Anti-Bailiff Action: Jacobs Bailiffs' Birkenhead HQ Occupied

Kickstarting a summer of anti-bailiff actions, protesters occupy Jacobs Bailiffs in Birkenhead on Merseyside in tandem with a communications blockade. Why did we occupy Jacobs Bailiffs? Do we really need to give a reason? No.

But to make your piss boil even more, Jacobs Bailiffs have a "Welfare Reform Recovery" Strategy to maximise clients' collections --basically indicating their intention to make profit of those hit by welfare reform. Here's a link to the news article gloating about their welfare strategy: http://www.jacobsbailiffs.co.uk/news/

Leaving aside the moral question of whether it is OK to shoot bailiffs, from a strategic point of view it's just not clever.

That said, I would expect that stuff like this is gonna start happening more often as more and more people are driven into utterly desperate circumstances. What is needed is collective resistance from whole communities, to prevent violence as much as anything else. I consider forcefully removing people from their homes to be a form of violence incidentally, and an act of violence against the community not just an individual or a family.
