As for fitness, I'm a reasonable level and will be in top form within a matter of weeks, so what I lack in panache I shall make up for in running and aggression.

i'm 39 my best playing days are behind me, but i feel i'm like teddy sherringham, i was never very quick but i read the game well

sorry rollem, have been away from the boards.. but yeah, i'm in! Something to inspire me to get fit is exactly what i need, and if we're going to be playing every sunday, it's nice to have something to force us down there on cold, wet, hungover days!

Well, Squashed Friend and I put in 4 hours of training on Sunday..... unfortunately it was in the Albert and not in Brockwell Park on the footy pitch (we only had 4 people coming so we called it off). Still nevermind, Relahni and I are playing regularly and have a decent level of fitness... and we've got plenty of time to train - Sundays in the park has to be a regular from now on. You all up for it?

So what about positions then? My preferred position is centre half or right back but I can play anywhere really. Anyone else?

If there is 7 then should it be 1 GK 2Defenders 2 Midfielders and 2 Attackers?

right side of midfield.. more of an offensive midfielder, then defensive just cos i'm shit at dropping back, but quite good at assists, and crossing.

this sunday I'll try and avoid oxfordshire, hangovers, and drunken break dancing injuries.. ooh my knee, it's gorn all purple!

you're right though, every sunday should be a definite now, if we're going to be entering against teams who've played as a unit for a while..

Being right footed i'd prefer right back - i'm not tall but then I ain't exactly ryan giggs when it comes to running with the ball either. I consider myself more of a David Batty, only with even more mis-timed tackles


I'd suggest 2 - 1 - 2 - 1 - just cos it looks godo when I type it. Also the "1" can drop back when needed or push on when on the attack. It's total football I tells ya - maybe we should play in orange!

I think Rollem wants us to play in pink!

I reckon 2 in defence - 2 in midfield and 2 in attack. But obviously supporting each other when attacking/defending - like a mobile unit.

Brixton Hatter gets stuck in and has a little weight to his game. I get stuck in too, can score and pass a little too. Have a tendency to try and twat the ball as hard as possible, which usually ends in a trek to fetch the ball. But I can score a few.

Edited to add, it's looking pretty good now - Wowbagger in goal, Brixton Hatter in defence, Relahni up front...........didn't Tony1798 and Chris Filter say they were midfielders?
