Alistair Stewart steps down from ITV news.

Calamity1971

If Mr Peanut says It's okay, then it is.
Alistair has stepped down from the news after a 'regretable incident on social media'. His account has been deleted on twitter.
No one has reported exactly what was posted yet?

Am I reading those tweets right, he posted the same bit of shakespeare to three different tweets? Were all three of the people he quote tweeted black too?

That'll be former chairman of the young lib dems Martin Shapland then - The young ones: Is this the future of politics?

Martin Shapland, 23, is less partisan than Bagshaw but even angrier (something of a showman, he also strides into the room two hours late with a pair of shades hanging out of his untucked shirt, despite the fact it's still raining).

Do you trust the Tories?
It's a very good question. They're still our opposition but I've been pleasantly surprised by their willingness to compromise. I'll judge them on their record.

No way someone so abjectly beige should have anywhere near the public consciousness for 40 years . I think he's the only person on twitter I've ever unfollowed. Solely due to his unique brand of nothing.

(Are we going to redo the Danny Baker thread?)

The one in which some people fell over themselves to deny his racism; acknowledging only his first tweet (the chimp child) and studiously ignoring the other three tweets he posted in quick succession (a banana; a 'strange, brown American ingredient', and The Monks)?

Not sure that's relevant, TBH.

Whether or not there was any racist intent behind this post, it's a stupid and irresponsible thing for anyone in Stewart's position to do.

Yeah fair, was just trying trying to figure out whether he was intentionally going round calling black people apes on twitter, which would be another level
