Alex Salmond accused (and then cleared) of sexual misconduct.

In terms of breaching the ministerial code, there was no good outcome really. Sturgeon handled it badly and was uncharacteristically shifty at the Committee. But then if she'd been found guilty, some very unpleasant people would be celebrating today. 'No winners', but there were certainly losers (the women who complained).

I'm pleased that Sas will be disappointed and that assorted dickheads will be grinding their teeth, but the banter result would have been for her to be found to have broken it I think. Ah well.

Old Sleepy Cuddles has been publicly divesting himself of dignity again. He’s decided he’s not going to let it lie. As soon as I find a link to his statement I’ll post it.

Alex Salmond has just announced the launch of his new party, Alba Party, which will be standing in the upcoming election, that's going to piss off Sturgeon & the SNP.

Salmond isn't one for lying down is he? From an independence perspective Alba seems an astute move to me. My vote as a socialist will be as follows: 1. SNP 2. Alba.

Not because Salmond's ego has persuaded me - he remains a questionable individual. But that is what he is, a deeply flawed individual. A vote for Alba isn't a vote for Salmond. But Independence needs progressed. Nicola sits on her hands and seems to ignore the base, but IS effective as an administrator, particularly around covid - hence my first vote.

I'll just leave this here

I was looking for a graph showing how Sturgeon's popularity has changed over the last little while, but I couldn't fine anything - 58% is great, unless you were at 75% three months ago (she might not have been I dunno)

The SNP polling for May has shown a big dip over the last month or so - is that related to this nonsense, or is there other stuff going on?

Those who vote Alba on the list shouldn't be labelled or autoregarded as misogynists though danny. Some will be of course, just as every political Party will contain and/or have supporters who are people of dubious character.

Will you not be considering casting for Alba?

Nope. Wouldn’t go anywhere near them.

Fair enough. I suppose any organisation that stands candidates will have dubious types within, which might be limiting when it comes to voting intention. i prefer to put aside my more purist inclinations on this forthcoming election. For me its important to give Boris Johnson's gangsters warning that the heave ho is coming.

Anyroad, it is going to be very interesting seeing how the votes ultimately stack up.

From the SNP’s point of view, they don’t need to have a membership purge. The conspiracy nuts will flock to the cause.
