A thank you to Brexiteers.

Do you have any particular reason for not flying Ryanair ?
Three of them: shit airline with shit customer service; operates from a highly inconvenient London airport; and which planes depart or land at the worst possible time of day for the most part.

What is this form people have to sign, then?

Ryan O'Leary's campaigning for Remain probably pushed quite a few wavering voters toward Brexit :D

His predictions were spot-on though

O’Leary said a Brexit would be damaging to the European and U.K. economies for the next two-to-three years. “There’d be huge uncertainty while Britain tries to negotiate an exit out of the single market and tries to replace it with a whole series of trade deals, which won’t get done."

It’s a petition that wants the EU to ban strikes by the French ATU but as you say he might be a cunt etc

And yet you apparently think the opinions of the owner or CEO or whatever he is are worth posting here...

confused face
Even a stopped clock, etc.

He does have a valid point IMO, two in fact: a lot of Brexit supporters, certainly a lot of those who still think Brexit is anything other than the monumental steaming pile shite it is, and who would campaign vigorously against any attempt to bring the UK closer to the EU, will be dead in the next 10-20 years; and Britain would certainly be very stupid not to try to reach at least a Switzerland-sytle agreement with the EU, if not a full rejoin.

‘Only gobshites think there’s flights for 50p’ etc.

Yes, it’s not great, and Stansted is a pain in the neck. But I have personally never had any Ryanair related problem, other than trying to ignore the scratch card sellers and the one time they ran out of tonic - at the very start of the flight. A gin and tonic was the one thing I’d missed during an otherwise fab time in the Rif mountains, and I’d been looking forward to one for days. Because its reputation precedes it, I feel badly for the frontline staff who are treated like filth by both the management - and a fairly substantial section of the customers who arrive with attitude and take things from there. They do their best from everything I’ve seen.

Of the terrible twins, I do prefer EasyJet by far, but that might just be the less offensive cabin decor.

The owner is a cunt, but is correct on Brexit.

Bleak

might be bleak but like us join the eu back in the day if the public mood changes it could always lead to re-joining with the special privileges that the uk had before

sorta of like how the unified ireland is almost inevitable when irish people breed more than the unionists

I totally get why EFTA didn't want the UK as members

they would want a special deal instead of the EFTA

so i can also agree why the would not want them in the group

also at this stage believing an agreement with the uk is very suspect

I think that rejoin supporters need to articulate a case and attempt to change minds rather than relying on the death rates of people who would oppose rejoining.

I'd like to hear this case from posters who identify as being socialists on here rather. There used to be a stay and reform type that was quite coherent and worth discussing with.

I note for all the moaning no one has attempted to make a serious case for rejoining.

Why not?

I asked this question years ago. No response was forthcoming from planet remain. Why? Because the arguments for rejoining all require acceptance of a particular economic destiny - of democratic accountability being further dissolved into a complex nexus of committees under the control of the undemocratic EC/ECB/IMF and an acceptance that the demands of market forces must prevail. It would mean making the case for closed borders. It would have to explain why political federalism is a good idea and one for which there is consent.

Even the remainers on here aren't daft enough to set that particular stall out. Are they......?

I’m not expecting to rejoin any time soon and nor am I going to make any effort to do so.

Unfortunately we will still be hostage to

In the wide and shiny free world now we’ve left.

Any dream that we’ll be financially and regulatory unimpeded is wishful thinking and delusion. If we want to trade with the EU it will dictate how we do so and what regulations we must adhere to.

The IMF will also take a keen interest in ensuring we play ball.

Because there is no need to, any more than there would be any need to explain to someone who's thrown you into a swimming pool full of shit why you object to it and why you really would like to get out.

I mean, what the actual fuck? :D
This is dumb. We have a Tory govt at the moment and many make a case for something else. Emphasis on the positives for something else.

No moaners on here though have even tried to articulate a case for rejoining.

I would be interested in discussing such arguments. Sadly though all we get from the moaners are dumb memes and hand wringing about shit German bands.

took 40 years to get the UK out of the EU project with the way the country is going atm can see it taking less to go back in

must admit do like this new angle of the Uno reverse card 500 pages of no good reason to leave now it's give us a reason to rejoin :hmm:

how about the fuzzy run tum feeling we all have afterwards
