Atos Medicals - Questions, Answers and Support

Unfortunately I missed that bit, but it probably would have revealed nothing we don't already know or suspect. :(

Atos Medicals - Questions, Answers and Support

A spokesperson from Maximus (?) was on R4 You and Yours earlier talking about taking over the Atos contract. I missed most of it (not being an habitual listener to that programme) - did anyone hear it?

    ESA medical

ah the myth that the Health care professionals are unqualified despite the JD and PS for the roles requiring full and unrestricted registration with the relevant Professional regulator GMC/NMC/HCPC ... we'll also conveniently avoid the fact that NMC and HCPC registrants are trained...

Losing benefit if you're an addict or obese

In case any of the posters on this thread don't know the misery that all the current benefit cuts are causing, I suggest you read these threads: Atos Medicals - Questions, Answers and Support List of those for whom Welfare Reform and cuts were too much to bear

Atos are still doing (re)assessments despite what Gov and Press say..

Congratulations Nick, I'm glad to hear that at least you'll have the breathing space you need to have a chance of improving a bit. No need for guilt, although it's a very natural and human thing to feel, when you've been lucky and so many others haven't. You can offer hope and have done so...

Atos are still doing (re)assessments despite what Gov and Press say..

Glad to hear you've finally had some success, and sorry it took so long. You're not obliged to offer anything in return for the support you've had, but as you suggest your good news gives some encouragement to us all. Of course you're welcome to stick around and offer whatever support you can...

Losing benefit if you're an addict or obese

...Ask any nurse or doctor - this is basic medical ethics. b) who decides what constitutes "trying" (to lose weight, to give up booze or drugs)? ATOS? Some bureaucrat who has met you once for 10 minutes? The Daily Mail? Or is success the only acceptable measure? c) It seeks to divide people -...

Atos are still doing (re)assessments despite what Gov and Press say..

...have won when others are still having to fight on. I also have no faith in any decision and would not be at all surprised to be summoned back to ATOS at any moment. At least this gives me a breathing space, I suppose, and each month takes me closer to pensionable age - just over three years...

Losing benefit if you're an addict or obese

you[re missing the aim of the game. nothing to do with saving money, despite the rhetioric that heir core support lap up. it's about diverting tax income to service providers - read companies that know how to play the back slapping game, and give their old school tie fellows in westminster good...

Losing benefit if you're an addict or obese

...you end up with regarded as a wildly optimistic best case scenario. Out of interest, counting reduction in benefits set against money paid out to workfare etc providers, increased costs at job centre, money paid to ATOS, are there any good estimates for how much has actually been saved so far?

How long will i be banned?

...this. You'll need expert help - at least go to the CAB, or disability rights centre. Also check the benefits and work website. BTW check the ATOs thread here - read the first page and then skip to the end of it, if I were you. Please bear in mind that the thread is a support thread, not...

A third of male university students say they would rape a woman if there no were no consequences

tbh, i don't think there's many people reading this thread that haven't already heard my opinions that the first thing we need to do to fix the system is educate the people involved in the legal process. it's people like that pratt who end up as judges in rape cases who blame the victims from...

A third of male university students say they would rape a woman if there no were no consequences

...all my time being outraged over women's issues (and believe me I would love to be), I would be in full relapse most of the time, plus it wouldn't leave any energy left over for other issues like disability issues or helping people through the ATOS process. We all do what we can with what we...

Atos Medicals - Questions, Answers and Support

Yes, it's happened before, it was an ESA assessment done by ATOS. The first time, the practitioner had concvenitnetly forgotten that it was supposed to be recorded. After VP stated that an unrecorded assessment was absolutely not acceptable, the practitioner agreed to reschedule it. The...

Ring up and ask for clarification, which you also want in writing, of what exactly the appeal decision was and for how long. Note the person's name (they can at least give their first name), position, time and day of this call, so that it can be verified if need be. Suppose nothing, check...
