World Cup Gambling Thread

So far all I've had is Benzema top goal scorer - £20 @ 25/1. I think it represents decent value considering 1) he is likely to be first choice once the tournament gets underway 2) France's group has to be the easiest with Switzerland, Honduras and Ecuador.
Benzema just scored two excellent goals in the game against Jamaica and could have had a hat trick (hit the bar) looks to be full of confidence!

I think he's a decent bet at those odds. Top scorer is a hard one to call because the total is usually quite low - one really good game can almost get you there. That group gives him a decent chance of having that game though.

I've just had a tenner on him over on betfair @ 28-1 and a tenner on Belgium to get to the semis. 4-1 on that though.

If you want my tip (and you probably don't) then I would go for a Brazil win and Neymar as top scorer.

Brazil have lost one competitive international at home since 1975. That's 39 years.

And you can get 20/1 at Ladbrokes and Betfair. Online I am guessing.

Couple of offers that might be useful to the gamblers...

Place a £10 bet with Betfair and get £26 cash-back via Quidco
http://www.quidco.com/betfair-sportsbook/?hoid=29157

Place a £10 bet with William Hill and get £27.30 cash-back via TopCashback
http://www.topcashback.co.uk/william_hill_sports_betting/

Offers are for new account sign ups I think. The cash-back sites are both fine but the money might take a while to come back to you, usually 2 weeks - 3 months as a rough guide. These two companies probably have some 'free bet' offers for new members so might be a bit more of a deal to add on?

Total £20 stake would give a £33.30 profit even if the bets fail.

Another one here - http://promotions.coral.co.uk/landing-pages/crazy-prices-online/

Coral are offering 2/1 that Brazil wear Yellow against Croatia. Yes.

Obvs its a new customer ploy and is really just their 100% matched bet bonus offer wrapped up in a shiny offer. Max bet is £10, new accounts only, but if you want to make a quick profit then its there.

Final thing - with ALL offers there are T&C's, and it may be that this one has a wagering requirement (ie you have to place a certain amount in bets before you can cash out) so remember to read them before you place the bet. And bet responsibly

Those cashback places also might have a minimum payout level of say £50, so check the minimum payout first.

ETA - just checked with my mate at TCB and they dont have a payment threshold, but you do have to wait for the merchant (in this case William Hill) to validate the transaction. Once thats done the payment is available for you to withdraw, or exchange for a TCB voucher that has a bonus attached to it

That is why I posted this:

I agree. There's going to be some crazy offers and because the bookies dont match each others bets (because they want the best offers) there will be some serious arbing potential

If anyone spread bets.

Im on.

A Croatia bought at 8

B Chile sold at 9

C Colombia bought at 16

D Uruguay bought at 13

E Switzerland sold at 10.75

F Bosnia bought at 8.5

G Ghana bought at 5.5

H S.Korea sold at 6

Never really been a fan of arbing, I know it's guaranteed money but where's the fun in it? Definitely going to be taking a serious look at all the offers available today and tomorrow thoug

Ok had a quick look at the offers available and have gone for:

1) The £10 on Brazil to wear yellow against Croatia at 2/1 with Coral. No brainer really it's a free £20.

2) Opened a new account with Boyles as they are offering double odds on the outright market up to a max of £20. So had £20 on Germany at 6/1 which will return £260 hopefully!

Think that'll do for me. Will see how long I last with the £30 I'll have with Corals from game 2 onwards. And fingers crossed for 3 Benzema hattricks in the group stages before France self destruct

I can guarantee you that the bookies hate it more :)

Insider knowledge says that Skybet and Corals are going to do some mad stupid bets during the World Cup (the insider being me) :)

I hate skybet, signed up with them a year or two ago at the start of the season for their signup bonus and thought the odds they offered were terrible!

Anyone having a go at forecasts or predicting top three places in the group stages? There is some value in looking at threefold or four time accumulators.

There is also an interesting market in top premiere league scorer in the World Cup. I backed Dzeko.

If you have that bet and it comes in (Duhhhh) then roll it over onto Brazil to win and Neymar to be top scorer. 16/1 with Coral. If you put it all on then thats £30 towards your wagering requirements and £480 for you. Spend another (I'm guessing here) £30 to get your WR finished and cash out.

Win. Win. Win.

I'm usually quite keen on short odds doubles and trebles but with all the games kicking off at different times (except the final group games) i doubt i'll bother with it much. Not really taken a look at those sort of bets (finishing positions) as generally I hate betting on anything long term, I much prefer betting on a game by game basis.

Usually a bit of a sucker for asian handicap -1.5 betting but need to be careful with it. Lots of talk about how many Argentina are going to put past Iran but in 2010 Brazil only beat N. Korea 2-1

I know those are good enhanced odds but I really don't fancy it as a bet!
