What if the other option was going to Bath?Certainly neither of those tweets would make me consider Ghana as a holiday destination

As that is my home town , I favour that option . It's strange that WoS would choose to live away from Scotland tbf .What if the other option was going to Bath?
Interesting isn’t it? They’d see themselves as left wing. But it’s a sad and all too predictable (and, I humbly suggest, predicted) tale of where rejoicing in being “the 45” would go: their exclusivity, their bitter, increasingly cocooned descent into distrust and hatred is pretty disturbing.Who are the 'Wings' people? Who are his followers and supporters?
It all comes across as pretty unpleasant right wing stuff. Bit of crossover with Trump's fanbase? Thing is whenever I've encountered unpleasant right wing politics with a Sottish accent its usually been from someone who has a picture of the queen at home (presumably next to their picture of Stevie G).
They seem like very different groups though?
Funnily enough his shtoomness coincides with the aforementioned turnaround in Wings loyalties. Hmmm.that reminds me, Dexter hasn’t passed by recently
Please don't say his name a third time or you will summon him from the beyond and we'll all regret itWould love to hear a spicy Dexter take on COVID-19 right now
FFS. Sasaferrato should take out a Wings subscription.I see yer da's taking the divorce well

There’s a Falkland in Fife. Nice wee place. I hope they don’t go there. The Falklands , it sounds Scottish.
In this willingness to shift their stance and follow the big man into battle even if that means destroying former allies, I was getting echoes of Sheridan's followers a few years back. And not just the shifting positions, in the abject nastiness of it. Then I thought I was reaching a bit with the comparison... but then I saw this:View attachment 259870
I have no idea if it’s true that Stuart “Wings” Campbell said that. What I do know is that his acolytes are fizzing mad on Twitter. It’s pretty hilarious really. They’ve gone from blind-fury driven visceral attacks on anyone who dared to criticise anything SNP related to the same ferocity directed at anyone SNP sympathetic. They share bizarre tweets about male and female genitals, they decry rape charities, and take exactly the same position as Unionist MPs on Sturgeon. I think what annoys them the most is that they’re a tiny percentage of twitter users, who are in turn a tiny percentage of Scottish residents. They’re indescribably insignificant. And barking like chihuahuas about it.
In one of his columns in Sputnik, Sheridan called for the return to frontline politics for Salmond. A man who Salmonds own QC referred to as an 'objectionable bully' and a 'sex pest'. Is that who we really want involve in progressive politics? Sheridan really is an objectionable narcissistic scumbag, with a lovely sideline in mysogyny
Not reaching at all. Exactly the same phenomenon. And a lot of the same people involved. In this willingness to shift their stance and follow the big man into battle even if that means destroying former allies, I was getting echoes of Sheridan's followers a few years back. And not just the shifting positions, in the abject nastiness of it. Then I thought I was reaching a bit with the comparison... but then I saw this:
Was just reading that. He describes Wings's interest in him as 'purely transactional' and says he deeply regrets speaking for him in court. Wings appears to be in full-on tailspin meltdownLegal blogger Paul Kavanagh, recently survived a stroke. He had testified in Campbell’s favour in the “homophobia” defamation suit Campbell brought against Kezia Dugdale who opined in a column that Campbell was homophobic. Kavanagh (himself gay) chose to leap to Campbell’s defence.
Kavanagh describes their relationship now:

It's probably because of crumpetsI’ve been losing Wings supporting followers quite quickly recently. I’ve been openly critical of him since during the indyref, but they became more touchy recently. Today I opined he was a daft wee fudd, and my follower count has been ticking down. Not that it bothers me. These aren’t people I know. Not even sure why they were following me anyway, I’ve been inactive for a couple of years (during which time I lost about 150 followers, reasonably enough).
It’s a very odd thing, social media.
I never talk about crumpets on Twitter. I did once talk about macaroni pies, which seemed to go well. It's probably because of crumpets
Maybe this thread could now become dedicated exclusively to pictures of mince-based cuisine, to commemorate the sad fall from grace of one of the Indy movement's great Tweeters
