There must be loads of plucky losers, it's what has made this country what it is....

well, there's Patrick Horsbrugh, who competed in the Mixed Architecture, Architectural Designs contest, sadly Alfred Thomson, who I belatedly discover won another gold for Britain, for Painting and Graphic Art, died a while back

the question isn't - or shouldn't be - 'who should light the flame', but rather 'who should be consumed by the flame', to which the obvious answers are boris johnson, ken livingstone and sebastian coe, kbe.

Steve Redgrave will probably do it.

Boring answer.

What you have to ask yourself is who do the 4bn (allegedly) mostly foreign viewers want to see light it?

It's going to be a hologram of Princess Diana. I hope they don't mix the projector slides up with Tu-Pac ones.

Never liked Thompson after the homophobic shit he spewed about Carl Lewis.

Apparently theres a medal winner from 48 still alive.

Otherwise Terry Wogan. It's not much of a step up from Eurovision.
