BIM brought this all on themselves. They left a blatantly inciteful post up and expected nothing to happen.
As for this all being a personal dispute, well, if Zaskar wanted to trash BIM that bad he could have done it a lot more easily with a few lines of Java. That site has been hacked into, to my knowlege, at least once.
Also if Zaskar was the "disgruntled ex-activist" you are trying to smear him as he would not have admitted to informing the cops. He'd have kept his mouth shut and sat back and watched the fun. However Z. isn't like that, he may be crap in many ways but he hasn't done this out of spite. Actually he told me had talked to about ten people, none of them particularly "straight" because he wasn't sure about it, before taking action. And why should he consult BIM, a bunch of assholes who'd sent him to a kangaroo court for no good reason??
EVEN IF HE HAD acted out of malice, BIM STILL have to accept responsiblity for allowing the post to stay up for a whole 24 HOURS before doing something about it.
It's called TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS. Something that, in your world, it appears only other people have to do.
