Not open for further replies.
We haven't even started and it's almost the end
We never talked it over fact we never said anything
Two of the same kinda sorts hiding thoughts
As the small talk ebbs away the silence is awkward
You hardly even know me and I'm starting to show that
I hardly even know you but I like what I know
I want to talk about it but I quake in my skin
It'll only push you further into making decisions
You want to like me but you are likely undecided
The voice inside is always right which is why the awkward silence
Not gonna risk losing you
Which is why I'm never gonna woo-oo you

[Chorus]
I think I love you more,
Than you like me
Although I'm never sure and maybe I should want to be blind
I think I love you more,
Than you like me
Because this is even crossing my mind

Any other day and you'd have not looked twice
The joking went along with my roll of the dice
Purely by a chance I happened on feeling
Really confident around the place and people
You caught a no-hitter hitting winning strokes
I never am a winner, I'm a lonely bloke
Acting exciting like a man for a while
Until you realise I can act like a child
Eternal optimism is spurring me on to think
That acting on your ins like this
Might lead me to learn a secret
But I don't really know
Or why I think so
It's just a good hunch
Hunches are always right though

[Chorus]

I drew a drawing of you after last time I saw you
I never felt to draw a picture like that before
I learnt a lot about myself drawing all morning
It was absolutely shit, I'm awful at drawing

[Chorus x2]

My angel I promised her we'd be dressed in a cloud
Standing on pillars on fire singing out loud
Shot from truth and love, not darkness
With the moon under your feet
Where birth goes on and rides terror
My shine will be complete

With your fire your fire
My tremolo
You're my fire

Every so softly it grows when you don't wear your armor
Crushing the burden and confusion sour
Trembling high on every leaf
Raining light down on your belief
Oh my angel unburdened by the race
I'll go down burning in your embrace

On fire, on fire
My tremolo
You're my fire

Don't take away my shine
My shine is all I have
My heat, my love, my beauty and my glad
It worries me sometimes that I want love
And live a life of sad

My tremolo
Sweet baby, my fire
My desire, fire

Please forgive me
If I appear unkind
But any fool can tell you
It's all in your mind

Down in the meadow
The old lion stirs
Puts his hand 'cross his mouth
He has no use for words

Poor little girl
With your handful of snow
Poor little girl
Had no way to know

And you've got me eating
You've got me eating
You've got me eating
Right out of your hand

I mean you no harm
When I tell you you're blind
Give a sucker an even break
He'll lose it all, every time

The airborne starlings circle
Over the frozen fields
The hollyhocks hang harmlessly
And the old lion yields

And you've got me eating
You've got me eating
You've got me eating
Right out of your hand

This garden that I built for you
That you sit in now and yearn
I will never leave it, dear
I could not bear to return
And find it all untended
With the trees all bended low
This garden is our home, dear
And I got nowhere else to go

So bring it on
Bring it on
Every little tear
Bring it on
Every useless fear
Bring it on
All your shattered dreams
And I'll scatter them into the sea
Into the sea

The geraniums on your window sill
The carnations, dear, and the daffodil
Well, they're ordinary flowers
But they long for the light of your touch
And of your trembling will
Ah, you're trembling still
And I am trembling too
To be perfectly honest I don't know
Quite what else to do

So bring it on
Bring it on
Every neglected dream
Bring it on
Every little scheme
Bring it on
Every little fear
And I'll make them disappear

So bring it on, bring it on
Bring it on
Every little thing
Bring it on
Every tiny fear
Bring it on
Every shattered dream
And I'll scatter them into the sea

Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
And they're young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one
Any more

Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people and I
Want to see life
Driving in your car
Oh, please don't drop me home
Because it's not my home, it's their home
And I'm welcome no more

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well the pleasure, the privilege is mine

Take me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought, 'Oh God, my chance has come at last'
But then a strange fear gripped me and I
Just couldn't ask

Take me out tonight
Oh take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one
Oh, I haven't got one

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well the pleasure, the privilege is mine

Oh, There is a light and it never goes out
...

cavefest :D

As so with that, I thought I'd take a final walk
The tide of public opinion had started to abate
The neighbours, bless them, had turned out to be all talk
I could see their frightened faces
peering at me through the gate

I was looking for an end to this, for some kind of closure
Time moved so rapidly, I had no hope of keeping track of it
I thought of my friends who had died of exposure
And I remembered other ones who had died from the lack of it

And in my best shoes I started falling forward down the street
I stopped at a church and jostled through the crowd
And love followed just behind me, panting at my feet
As the steeple tore the stomach from a lonely little cloud

Inside I sat, seeking the presence of a God
I searched through the pictures in a leather-bound book
I found a woolly lamb dozing in an issue of blood
And a gilled Jesus shivering on a fisherman's hook

Babe
It seems so long
Since you've been gone away
And I
Just got to say
That it grows darker with the day

Back on the street I saw a great big smiling sun
It was a Good day and an Evil day and all was bright and new
And it seemed to me that most destruction was being done
By those who could not choose between the two

Amateurs, dilettantes, hacks, cowboys, clones
The streets groan with little Caesars, Napoleons and cunts
With their building blocks and their tiny plastic phones
Counting on their fingers, with crumbs down their fronts

I passed by your garden, saw you with your flowers
The Magnolias, Camellias and Azaleas so sweet
And I stood there invisible in the panicking crowds
You looked so beautiful in the rising heat
I smell smoke, see little fires bursting on the lawns
People carry on regardless, listening to their hands
Great cracks appear in the pavement, the earth yawns
Bored and disgusted, to do us down

Babe
It seems so long
Since you've been gone
And I
Just got to say
That it grows darker with the day

These streets are frozen now. I come and go
Full of a longing for something I do not know
My father sits slumped in the deepening snow
As I search, in and out, above, about, below

Babe
It seems so long
Since you went away
And I
Just got to say
That it grows darker with the day

Hey now little speedy head the read on the speedometer says
you have to go the task in the city
Where people drown and people serve
Don't be shy, your just deserve is only just light years to go

Me my thoughts are flowers strewn, an ocean storm may bury them
I have got to leave to find my way
Watch the road and memorize this life that passed before my eyes
and nothing is going my way

The ocean is the river's goal, the need to leave the water knows
We're closer now, but light years to go
I have got to find the river, Bergamot and bed of rose
Run through my head and far away
Leave the road and memorize this life that passed before my eyes
And nothing is going my way

There's no one left to take the lead, but I'll tell you and you can see
We're closer now and light years to go
Pick up here and chase the ride, river empties to the tide
Fall into the ocean

River to the ocean goes a fortune for the undertow
None of this is going my way
There is nothing left to grow but ginger, mint, and indigo
Coriander stem and rows of hay
Strength and courage overrides, these privileged and weary eye
River poets search naivete
Pick up here and chase the ride, the river empties to the tide
All of this is coming your way

High above the roof tops,
Higher than the milky way,
Slipping through the hour glass,
Shooting up the desert plain,
You are one life older than before,
But you can't stop the chill,
Now you're falling in slow motion,
Though the air is still.

If you close your eyes than I can take you all the way,
Let me close your eyes and I will take it all the way.

You are on the outside,
Hands upon the window sill,
I am on the inside,
Carving up the hunters kill.

If you close your eyes than I can take you all the way,
Let me close your eyes and I will take it all the way.

Cruising on a missile,
Cruising on a desert plain,
Wading through a minefield,
Wading through the monsoon rain,
Surfing on an oilspill,
Surfing on a perfect wave,
Porn upon the airwaves,
Rituals of the mating game.

If you close your eyes than I can take you all the way,
Let me close your eyes and I will take it all the way.

D'ya think I'd have to choose
D'ya think I'd wear brown shoes
D'ya think that I'd ever have to read about this in the news
You gonna have a go
Well I don't want to know
I just thought that I should try and say hello to those who'd

Never exist without being generic
You have to impress our bovine public
You'd never exist if you wasn't generic
You have to impress our bovine public
I'll never forget how all this begun
and I will never regret a thing I have done but
You would never exist without us

So maybe I do not have the time fair weather friends of mine
A year's a long time be doing nothing with your life
I heard you felt alert
Well I'm hoping that it hurt
Cos you played too much time in groundwork
To be ground in to the dirt by those who'd

Never exist without being generic
You'll have to impress our bovine public
You'd never exist if you wasn't generic
You'll have to impress our bovine public
I'll never forget how all this begun
and I will never regret a thing I have done
But you would never exist without us

So maybe I do

Well you say nothing
So you'll always mean nothing to me
And if what you say means nothing
Then what you say will always mean nothing to me

D'ya think I have the time fair weather friends of mine
A year's a long time be doing nothing with your life
I heard you felt alert
Well I'm hoping that it hurt
Cos you played too much silent grammar
To be ground into the dirt by those

Who'd never exist without being generic
You have to impress our bovine public
You'd never exist if you wasn't generic
You'll have to impress our bovine public
I'll never forget how all this begun
and I will never regret the one thing I've done
But you would never exist without us

There's not much to say for me
That's ok, you know that girls like mystery
They'll know all the things I've had
That’s ok, it don't necessarily make it bad

Leave me alone, I'm just your enemy
I've seen it all, I've seen your jealousy

They say love me till then end
They only see me as a friend
We leave a lot to be desired
I don't care about desire

They say love me till then end
They only see me as a friend
We leave a lot to be desired
I never wanna be desired

There's not much to say for me
That's okay, you know that girls like mystery
Keep your clothes as your dignity
After all, it's only two years history

Leave me alone, I'm just your enemy
I've seen it all, I've seen your jealousy

They say love me till then end
They only see me as a friend
We leave a lot to be desired
I don't care about desire

They say love me till then end
They only see me as a friend
We leave a lot to be desired
I never wanna be desired

Have you noticed i've never been impressed
by your friends from new york and london
i'll level accusations like the press
until you realise that you've dressed yourself in tatters

because the man's needs
man's needs
are full of greed
full of greed
a man's needs
man's needs
are lost on me

a man's needs
man's needs
are full of greed
full of greed
a man's needs

i'm not bothered
what you say or how you dress
i'm a mess, so you've always seemed inviting
but really
this all seems quite meaningless and i remember
that you never seem to see

the fact that man's needs

man's needs
are full of greed
full of greed
a man's needs
man's needs
are lost on me

a girl's needs
girl's needs
just don't agree
don't agree
with man's needs

have you noticed i've never been impressed by your friends from new york and london?
but really this all seems quite meaningless and i remember
that you never seem to see

the fact that man's needs
man's needs
are full of greed
full of greed
a man's needs
man's needs
are lost on me

you say a man's needs
man's needs
apply to me
i don't agree
a man's needs
oh oh oh oh

Monday morning wake up knowing that you’ve got to go to school
Tell your mum what to expect, she said it's right out of the blue
You went to work in Debenhams, because that’s what they expect
Start in lingerie, and Doris is your supervisor

And the head said that you always were a queer one from the start
For careers you say you want to be remembered for your art
Your obsessions get you known throughout the school for being strange
Making life-size models of The Velvet Underground in clay

In the queue for lunch they take the piss, you’ve got no appetite
And the rumor is you never go with boys and you are tight
So they jab you with a fork, you drop the tray and go berserk
While your cleaning up the mess the teacher is looking up your skirt

Hey, you’re been used
Are you calm? settle down
Write a song, Ill sing along
Soon you will know that you are sane
You’re on top of the world again

Monday morning wake up knowing that you’ve got to go to school
Tell your mum what to expect, she said it's right out of the blue
Do you went to work in C&A, cause that’s what they expect
Move to lingerie and take a feel off Joe the store man

Tell Veronica the secrets of the boy you never kissed
She’s got everything to gain cause she’s a fat girl with a lisp
She sticks up for you when you get aggravation from the snobs
cause you cant afford a blazer, girl you’re always wearing clogs

At the interval you lock yourself away inside a room
Head of English gets you, asks you, what the hell do you think you’re doing?
Do you think you’re better then the other kids? well get outside.
You’ve got permission, but you’ve got to make the bastard think he’s right

He, you’re been used
Write a song, Ill sing along
Are you calm? settle down
Soon you will know that you are sane
You’re on top of the world again

Are you cool, and you know
You’re a star and you’ll go far
Think of me as a friend
Not just a boy who’s playing guitar
You’re on top of the world again

Early one mornin' the sun was shinin',
I was layin' in bed
Wond'rin' if she'd changed at all
If her hair was still red.
Her folks they said our lives together
Sure was gonna be rough
They never did like Mama's homemade dress
Papa's bankbook wasn't big enough.
And I was standin' on the side of the road
Rain fallin' on my shoes
Heading out for the East Coast
Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through,
Tangled up in blue.

She was married when we first met
Soon to be divorced
I helped her out of a jam, I guess,
But I used a little too much force.
We drove that car as far as we could
Abandoned it out West
Split up on a dark sad night
Both agreeing it was best.
She turned around to look at me
As I was walkin' away
I heard her say over my shoulder,
"We'll meet again someday on the avenue,"
Tangled up in blue.

I had a job in the great north woods
Working as a cook for a spell
But I never did like it all that much
And one day the ax just fell.
So I drifted down to New Orleans
Where I happened to be employed
Workin' for a while on a fishin' boat
Right outside of Delacroix.
But all the while I was alone
The past was close behind,
I seen a lot of women
But she never escaped my mind, and I just grew
Tangled up in blue.

She was workin' in a topless place
And I stopped in for a beer,
I just kept lookin' at the side of her face
In the spotlight so clear.
And later on as the crowd thinned out
I's just about to do the same,
She was standing there in back of my chair
Said to me, "Don't I know your name?"
I muttered somethin' underneath my breath,
She studied the lines on my face.
I must admit I felt a little uneasy
When she bent down to tie the laces of my shoe,
Tangled up in blue.

She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe
"I thought you'd never say hello," she said
"You look like the silent type."
Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century.
And every one of them words rang true
And glowed like burnin' coal
Pourin' off of every page
Like it was written in my soul from me to you,
Tangled up in blue.

I lived with them on Montague Street
In a basement down the stairs,
There was music in the cafes at night
And revolution in the air.
Then he started into dealing with slaves
And something inside of him died.
She had to sell everything she owned
And froze up inside.
And when finally the bottom fell out
I became withdrawn,
The only thing I knew how to do
Was to keep on keepin' on like a bird that flew,
Tangled up in blue.

So now I'm goin' back again,
I got to get to her somehow.
All the people we used to know
They're an illusion to me now.
Some are mathematicians
Some are carpenter's wives.
Don't know how it all got started,
I don't know what they're doin' with their lives.
But me, I'm still on the road
Headin' for another joint
We always did feel the same,
We just saw it from a different point of view,
Tangled up in blue.

Now and then
I see you passing by
And for a while
I don't begin to cry

But just when I think I'm all cried out

Another tear falls
Another tear falls
And then I know
You are still here in my heart
You are still here in my broken heart

Everytime I go with someone new
I tell myself I've gotten over you

But just when I think I'm all cried out

Another tear falls
Another tear falls
And then I know
You are still here in my heart

You are still
Here in my
Broken
Heart

I remember you well in the Chelsea Hotel,
you were talking so brave and so sweet,
giving me head on the unmade bed,
while the limousines wait in the street.
Those were the reasons and that was New York,
we were running for the money and the flesh.
And that was called love for the workers in song
probably still is for those of them left.

Ah but you got away, didn't you babe,
you just turned your back on the crowd,
you got away, I never once heard you say,
I need you, I don't need you,
I need you, I don't need you
and all of that jiving around.

I remember you well in the Chelsea Hotel
you were famous, your heart was a legend.
You told me again you preferred handsome men
but for me you would make an exception.
And clenching your fist for the ones like us
who are oppressed by the figures of beauty,
you fixed yourself, you said, "Well never mind,
we are ugly but we have the music."

And then you got away, didn't you babe...

I don't mean to suggest that I loved you the best,
I can't keep track of each fallen robin.
I remember you well in the Chelsea Hotel,
that's all, I don't even think of you that often.

"Sometimes I beheaded them
with daggers, with poniards, with knives
Sometimes I suspended them in my room
from a pole or by a hook and chords and strangled them
And when they were languishing
I committed with them the evils of the flesh"

The evening air laps thick about
The stagnant moat that Tiffauges claims
As dusk now slips away
Where taught to run, the rotten tongue
Of a hotter Götterdämerung
Has started licking like a flame

Whispers in the dismal mist
Are full of crystal promises

Black rites begun in earnest
Ignite Hell's hungry furnace

Behold the bold inauguration of the darkside
Demonic passions climbing
Ill-fated stars aligning

Tonight these sights are guaranteed to feed the master
The tide of blood is rising
His gifts will be providing

Unmasked, the phantom lord De Rais
Haunts the furthest tower
Wherein death has sucked the hour

There, throttled gasps tantamount to foreplay
And drooling razors next to come
Unspool red secrets from the young

The moon grinned full, the games were chaste
When the children first arrived
Now midnight shadows crawl apace
To darken counsel with their lives

Flesh and ecstasy as sport
Are immortal vices of the highest order
Wherein devilry holds sway
Behind blind walls where these cockatrice squalled
Their songs of Necronomicon
Spoke out of Gilles De Rais

Each murdered son, each frozen rose
Handpicked, was gently fed
To the sumptuous one in black and those
Whose lives were thrown in with the dead

The candles lit, the stage was set
As it was in sainted days
When censers swung and banners hung
On the Siege of Orleans on the painted Seine

Now the castle floats in the drifting fog
Torn from it's moorings
Like a shipwreck dredged from Hell
As innocents entreat a shifting God
Their voices soaring
On a silver tide to heaven
On a knife edge as they fell

The blade would plunge in virulent arcs
Such wounds would stretch away
By the fireside, warmed to creative sparks
Of the monster Gilles De Rais

Gilded Gilles De Rais

Comets vomited
The restless bells of crime
Peeled back skin from broken bones
Of angels cut from the nicks of time

Festering faces with painted eyes
The prettiest kept to be thrust inside
Gaping necromantic from the mantle-side
Caked in kissed goodbyes

Days faded in decay
The stench of perfume lied
No horror in the glades of man
Was left for Barron to provide

So unique was the beat of his poisoned heart
And it's sordid, morbid crack
No further atrocity could possibly surpass
Unrewarded, bored, he turned his back

walker/cohen fest...

And if one day I should become
A singer with a Spanish bum
Who sings for women of great virtue
I'd sing to them with a guitar
I borrowed from a coffee bar
Well, what you don't know doesn't hurt you
My name would be Antonio
And all my bridges I would burn
And when I gave them some they'd know
I'd expect something in return
I'd have to get drunk every night
And talk about virility
With some old grandmother
That might be decked out like a christmas tree
And though pink elephants I'd see
Though I'd be drunk as I could be
Still I would sing my song to me
About the time they called me "Jacky"

If I could be for only an hour
If I could be for an hour every day
If I could be for just one little hour
Cute in a stupid ass way

And if I joined the social whirl
Became procurer of young girls
Then i would have my own bordellos
My record would be number one
And I'd sell records by the ton
All sung by many other fellows
My name would then be handsome Jack
And I'd sell boats of opium
Whisky that came from Twickenham
Authentic queers
And phony virgins
If I had banks on every finger
A finger in every country
And every country ruled by me
I'd still know where I'd want to be
Locked up inside my opium den
Surrounded by some china men
I'd sing the song that I sang then
About the time they called me "Jacky"

If I could be for only an hour
If I could be for an hour every day
If I could be for just one little hour
Cute in a stupid ass way

Now, tell me, wouldn't it be nice
That if one day in paradise
I'd sing for all the ladies up there
And they would sing along with me
And we be so happy there to be
Cos' down below is really nowhere
My name would then be Junipher
Then I would know where I was going
And then I would become all knowing
My beard so very long and flowing
If I became deaf, dumb and blind
(was: If I could play deaf, dumb and blind)
Because I pitied all mankind
And broke my heart to make things right
I know that every single night
When my angelic work was through
The angels and the Devil too
Would sing my childhood song to me
About the time they called me "Jacky"

If I could be for only an hour
If I could be for an hour every day
If I could be for just one little hour
Cute in a stupid ass way

and onto marc almond..

A tenement, a dirty street
Walked and worn by shoeless feet
Inside it's long and so complete
Watched by a shivering sun
Old eyes in a small child's face
Watching as the shadows race
Through walls and cracks and leave no trace
And daylight's brightness shuns

The days of pearly spencer
The race is almost run

Nose pressed hard on frosted glass
Gazing as the swollen mass
On concrete fields where grows no grass
Stumbles blindly on
Iron trees smother the air
But withering they stand and stare
Through eyes that neither know nor care
Where the grass is gone

The days of pearly spencer
The race is almost run

Pearly where's your milk white skin
What's that stubble on your chin
It's buried in the rot gut gin
You played and lost not won
You played a house that can't be beat
Now look your head's bowed in defeat
You walked too far along the street
Where only rats can run

The days of pearly spencer
The race is almost run
The days of pearly spencer
The race is almost run
The race is almost run

A tenement, a dirty street
Remember worn and shoeless feet
Remember how you stood to beat
The way your life had gone
So pearly don't you shed more tears
For those best forgotten years
Those tenements are memories
Of where you've risen from

The days of pearly spencer
The race is almost won

not even so much as a punch up let a lone the decapitation, murder and raping of children on meat hooks, BORRINNNG!

And who by fire, who by water,
Who in the sunshine, who in the night time,
Who by high ordeal, who by common trial,
Who in your merry merry month of may,
Who by very slow decay,
And who shall I say is calling?

And who in her lonely slip, who by barbiturate,
Who in these realms of love, who by something blunt,
And who by avalanche, who by powder,
Who for his greed, who for his hunger,
And who shall I say is calling?

And who by brave assent, who by accident,
Who in solitude, who in this mirror,
Who by his ladys command, who by his own hand,
Who in mortal chains, who in power,
And who shall I say is calling?

If it be your will
That I speak no more
And my voice be still
As it was before
I will speak no more
I shall abide until
I am spoken for
If it be your will
If it be your will
That a voice be true
From this broken hill
I will sing to you
From this broken hill
All your praises they shall ring
If it be your will
To let me sing
From this broken hill
All your praises they shall ring
If it be your will
To let me sing

If it be your will
If there is a choice
Let the rivers fill
Let the hills rejoice
Let your mercy spill
On all these burning hearts in hell
If it be your will
To make us well

And draw us near
And bind us tight
All your children here
In their rags of light
In our rags of light
All dressed to kill
And end this night
If it be your will

If it be your will.

you'd almost think we were in the same room as each other or summink :hmm:

All at once i miss you
So long since i kissed you
How i long to look into your eyes
Yes i still dream about you
My world is lost without you
For you were my first love
And first love never ever dies

Whenever i feel lonely
I'm thinking of you only
One last kiss
And then we said goodbye

The love i left behind me
Comes back to remind me
That you were my first love
And first love never ever dies

The love i left behind me
Comes back to remind me
That you were my first love
And first love never ever dies

And if you're thinking of me
And you find you still love me
Theres no use to go on living lies
Lets hurry to each other
Co's there could be no other

Yes you were my first love
And first love never ever dies

First love never ever Dies

Love her
and tell her each day
that girl needs to know
tell her so, tell her everything I couldn't say
Like she's warm, and she's sweet and shes's fine, Oh love her like I should have done.

And hold her, and show her you care. When her world is blue see her through any time that she needs you be there, by her side, be the guy that I couldn't be and love her, love her for me.
Please love her, love her for me.

Hold her, and show her you care, when her world is blue see her through any time that she needs you be there, by her side, be the guy that I couldn't be and love her love her for me.

Yeah, c'mon love her, love her for me.

Well, I don't see you, I won't call you
I don't know enough to stall you
Is it me, or is it all you?
Guess, it's on and on

On a day, maybe I'd show you
But it's the least of all I go through
But the thing is I don't know you
And it's on and on

The trembling words, don't make my eyes close
And if anyone then you'd know I can't find out
'Cause it won't show
And it's on and on

Well, every dream is shot by daylight
And I pray that maybe you're right
But if you don't, maybe I might
'Cause it's on and on

When it takes too long I lose it
I'll just hang while you abuse it
If you knew then why'd you choose it
'Cause it's on and on

You're not gonna get me through this, are you?
You're not gonna get me through this, are you?

Well, anytime I'm there to show you
But if it takes too long I know you
Out the door just leavin' me screwed
And it's on and on

Well, everytime I try to fight it
It's so hard to seem excited
And if you don't turn, I'll bite it
And it's on and on

You're not gonna get me through this, are you?
You're not gonna get me through this, are you?

Well, I don't see you, I won't call you
I don't know enough to stall you
Is it me or is it all you?
Yes, it's on and on

Well, every dream is shot by daylight
And I pray maybe that you're right
But if you don't, maybe I might
'Cause it's on and on

(Beautiful and emotionally perfect in context, utter bollocks when written down in black n white!)

(always the way, mancboy ;))

You don't have to tell me, girl, because I know
Baby, don't you think I knew it long ago?

Baby, you don't have tell me
'Cause I already know, you see
Baby, you don't have to tell me goodbye

There is someone new who gets your kiss now
What about the times before - don't they exist now?

Whoah - baby, you don't have tell me
Baby, 'cause I already know, you see
Baby, you don't have to tell me goodbye
Have a little lesson now

Baby - tried to be a middle guy
Baby - when I know what is on your mind
Baby - you don't have to tell me goodbye

Go ahead, tell me that's life, each day if you could
You are giving me a taste of life but good

Whoah - baby, you don't have tell me
Baby, 'cause I already know, you see
Baby, you don't have to tell me goodbye

Baby - tried to be a middle guy
Baby - when I know what is on your mind
Baby - you don't have to tell me goodbye

It was a modern love affair
completely cool and casual
they hardly knew each other was there
i mean Both of them had their own getting off to do
and they had to dream about their own self
when they were through
but the modern girl was elated
with what the revolution gave her
and since she was liberated she could have
everything that striked her fancy
and she fancied quite a bit
i mean if it felt good she did it
and she did it every chance she could get
with her main modern man and otherwise
and her taste wasn't limited to just modern guys
since another modern girl showed her
that modern girls know how to hold her
and after she had her eyes opened
all her old close friends started getting closer
and new friends weren't that far away
but the modern man he just wasn't so lucky
he being shook from his usual role as the heartbreaker
he was completely battered and bewildered
when he actually started in feeling something for her
and he discovered a new emotion
when they stopped ending up together as frequently
and when he finally confronted her with the question
"had she been bedding down with others in the periphery without him?"
and she replied "Hell yes! ain't it funny!"
so view the modern man looking, looking, looking, like a soft Picasso
he's there with his head in his hand
repeating to himself an epigram
"live by the scam, die by the scam."

 All very oldschool for me tonight... And so to bed...

I can't talk, I've got the wrong way
Looking up what's falling down, yeah
I can't talk I've gone back the wrong way
What is the use in what I say?

I hear myself complain so I can do it again
Do it again
I give myself the blame so I get back up again
Get out of the rain

Baby, I miss you, so tell me
Is she really that beautiful? Woah
Each time she's kissed you, tell me
Is it that really that good for you?

Does she love you like I never could?
Hold you tender tell you everything's good? Woah
Would she hurt you? Cos I never could
Does she hold your body tight all night baby?

I'm talking bout a whole lotta history
I can't find a way to show what you mean to me
I've fallen all around when you miss me
I don't know what to do so tell me baby

Hello, did you call me?
I thought it didn't matter that you're gone
And I know, end of story
Now there's nothing but a shadow where my heart shone

I'm dammed if I do and I'm dammed and if I don't
But you cost me so much love, yeah
So finally I just decided to go
I know I've had enough, so tell me that you're not alone

I'm talking bout a whole lotta history
I can't find a way to show what you mean to me
I've fallen all around when you miss me
I don't know what to do so tell me baby

I'm talking bout a whole lotta history
I can't find a way to show what you mean to me
I've fallen all around when you miss me
I don't know what to do so tell me baby

And it keeps me spinning
And controls what happens to Monday, to Monday
And it might sound crazy
But your voice still leaves me all funky, all funky

But your voice still leaves me all funky, all funky
