Come on come on
I see no changes wake up in the morning and I ask myself
is life worth living should I blast myself?
I'm tired of bein' poor & even worse I'm black
my stomach hurts so I'm lookin' for a purse to snatch
Cops give a damn about a negro
pull the trigger kill a nigga he's a hero
Give the crack to the kids who the hell cares
one less hungry mouth on the welfare
First ship 'em dope & let 'em deal the brothers
give 'em guns step back watch 'em kill each other
It's time to fight back that's what Huey said
2 shots in the dark now Huey's dead
I got love for my brother but we can never go nowhere
unless we share with each other
We gotta start makin' changes
learn to see me as a brother instead of 2 distant strangers
and that's how it's supposed to be
How can the Devil take a brother if he's close to me?
I'd love to go back to when we played as kids
but things changed, and that's the way it is

Come on come on
That's just the way it is
Things'll never be the same
That's just the way it is
aww yeah

I see no changes all I see is racist faces
misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
We under I wonder what it takes to make this
one better place, let's erase the wasted
Take the evil out the people they'll be acting right
'cause both black and white is smokin' crack tonight
and only time we chill is when we kill each other
it takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks
But some things will never change
try to show another way but you stayin' in the dope game
Now tell me what's a mother to do
bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you
You gotta operate the easy way
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way
sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, well that's the way it is

We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive.

And still I see no changes can't a brother get a little peace
It's war on the streets & the war in the Middle East
Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs
so the police can bother me
And I ain't never did a crime I ain't have to do
But now I'm back with the facts givin' it back to you
Don't let 'em jack you up, back you up,
crack you up and pimp smack you up
You gotta learn to hold ya own
they get jealous when they see ya with ya mobile phone
But tell the cops they can't touch this
I don't trust this when they try to rush I bust this
That's the sound of my tool you say it ain't cool
my mama didn't raise no fool
And as long as I stay black I gotta stay strapped
& I never get to lay back
'Cause I always got to worry 'bout the pay backs
some punk that I roughed up way back
comin' back after all these years
rat-tat-tat-tat-tat that's the way it is uhh

Some things will never change

You give me that funny feeling in my tummy
Ahw shit, yeah, thats right huh
Rollercoaster of love
Say what
Rollercoaster yeah (oohh oohh oohh)
Oh baby you know what Im talking about
Rollercoaster of love
Oh yeah its rollercoaster time
Lovin you is really wild
Oh its just a love rollercoaster
Step right up and get your tickets

Your love is like a rollercoaster baby, baby I wanna ride yeah (awawaw)

Move over dad cause Im a double dipple
Upside down on th big dip dipper

Let me go down on the merry-go-round
All is fair on a big fair ground
Lets go slow. lets go fast
Like a liqourice twist gonna whip your ass.

Rollercoaster
Say what

i wonder how long it'll be before i start a thread in the shaggin forum saying i wanna donk every song i hear :(....i wanna donk this one bad....but i digress.

i want to donk the donnie darko (directors cut) soundtrack :D

Dont ask me
What you know is true
Dont have to tell you
I love your precious heart
I
I was standing
You were there
Two worlds collided
And they could never tear us apart

We could live
For a thousand years
But if I hurt you
Id make wine from your tears

I told you
That we could fly
cause we all have wings
But some of us dont know why

I
I was standing
You were there
Two worlds collided
And they could never ever tear us apart

and mgmt would get a donk too :)
as would my friend mjg :D

You were a child,
crawlin' on your knees toward it.
Makin' mama so proud,
but your voice is too loud.

We like to watch you laughing.
Pickin' insects off plants.
No time to think of consequences.

Control yourself.
Take only what you need from it.
A family of trees wanting,
To be haunted.

Control yourself.
Take only what you need from it.
A family of trees wantin',
To be haunted.

The water is warm,
but its sending me shivers.
A baby is born,
crying out for attention.
Memories fade,
like looking through a fogged mirror
Decisions to decisions are made and not fought
But I thought,
this wouldn't hurt a lot.
I guess not.

Control yourself.
Take only what you need from it.
A family of trees wantin',
To be haunted.

Control yourself.
Take only what you need from it.
A family of trees wantin',
To be haunted.

Control yourself.
Take only what you need from it.
A family of trees wantin',
To be haunted.

Control yourself.
Take only what you need from it.
A family of trees wantin',
To be haunted.

Control yourself.
Take only what you need from it.
A family of trees wantin',
To be haunted.

aaah the youtube playlist function gives me all sorts of things i'd never have considered listening to but are a bit ace :)

I can't believe a single word that you're saying
I see your lips moving, but nothing's coming out
Who can believe a single word that you're saying
I see your lips moving& but I can't figure it out

I'm afraid of the crucifix hanging on my wall
You hear yourself screaming, but nothing's coming out
I'm afraid of the shadows dancing on my wall
I hear them laughing at me,but I can't figure it out

I know my limitations
I just don't know when to quit
I know when I'm addicted
But no, I can't get enough of that shit, what?

[Chorus]
Jesus - Make everything all right

Where'd everybody go?
I know I'm losing, but I don't know what to do
Sweet Jesus make it go away
Mary, Joseph what I should I say?
What do I do?

When I was alone you just laughed at me
I held out my hand, you just closed your eyes
I only wanted to be good
All I wanted was a chance to make things right

[Chorus]

Twenty thousand leagues deep on the mic
Mass murder, court convicted, terroristic creature of the night
No, don't let me get freaky tonight
No, don't feed me tonight
I been drinking way to much Jagermeister
Mommy pray for me, cause I'm not feeling right
I've been hearing these voices
They're telling me to take my own life
Breathe my last breath, eat my last meal
You got what you deserve
How's that feel?

(jesus of nazareth by (hed) p.e. :)

Do you remember, chalk hearts melting on a playground wall?
Do you remember, dawn escaped from moonwashed college halls?
Do you remember, the cherry blossom in the market square?
Do you remember, I thought it was confetti in our hair
By the way didn't I break your heart?
Please excuse me, I never meant to break your heart.
So sorry I never meant to break your heart.
But you broke mine.
Kayleigh is it too late to say I'm sorry.
Kayleigh could we get it together again.
I can't go on pretending that it came to a natural end.
Kayleigh I never thought I'd miss you,
and Kayleigh I'd hoped that we'd always be friends.
We said our love would last forever,
so how did it come to this bitter end.
Do you remember, barefoot on the lawn with shooting stars
Do you remember, loving on the floor in Belsize Park
Do you remember, dancing in stilletos in the snow
Do you remember, you never understood I had to go.
By the way, didn't I break your heart ?
Please excuse me I never meant to break your heart
So sorry, I never meant to break your heart,
But you broke mine.
Kayleigh, I just want to say I'm sorry,
but Kayleigh I'm too scared to pick up the phone.
To find you've found another lover to patch up our broken home.
Kayleigh, I'm still trying to write that love song,
Kayleigh it's more important to me now you're gone.
Maybe it'll prove that we were right
Or it will prove that I was wrong

in the year of my decline
sucking freezies in the rain
driving twisted in the suburbs
and then driving back again
seventeen and half alive
headlights illuminate the school
inhale the powder from the science class, yeah nearly dying felt so cool
your face is all that hasnt changed
youre reassembled just like me
but when i reach to touch your hand
you stroke mine gently

all i want is one more chance to be young and wild and free
all i want is one more chance to show you,
you were right for me
you were right for me

im back in gym and its the same
as my name tag floats away
i had 6 too many drinks last night yes
and thats why i made you stay
plus i always wanted you
you liked to rock it in your car
you said you didnt understand me
because i always tried to see too far
well Tainted Love's too fast to dance to
so lets leave them all behind
they hated us with everything they had
and we hated them in kind

all i want is one more chance
to be young and wild and free
all i want is one more chance to show you,
you were right for me
reunion, reunion..reunion, reunion...

We were sitting in the living room on the sofa, the wrong way round, looking out the window. It was quiet, and then in the car park across the road we saw Elvis - look, there beside the postman's van, and he was walking round the postman's van, looking in the open door. He looked as if he was thinking about getting in, but then the postman came back, and he swaggered off, walked past the window and down the stairs, and then at the bottom of the stairs right by the caretaker's office, he started licking the pavement. Every night now since we moved in that new house there's this noise outside the door at just about half seven or eight o' clock every night. And if we go and look outside the door, Elvis'll be standing there waiting to be let in. And then he wanders into the living room, maybe sits down on one of the chairs or even lies down on the floor. He doesn't say much, he just stays there for an hour or two, watching the TV. We talk to him a bit, and then around ten o' clock, he'll go away again, and not co
me back until the next night. There's a lot of lanes and stuff around here, around the house - although it's right in the middle of the city it seems quite like the country, it's dead hidden - safe I suppose, made for night living. There's a lot of squirrels and birds, and Stuart says he's seen about nine foxes there when he's jumped over the fence on his way to Prior's Road. Sometimes you can go out walking, and when you've been out for a wee while even you don't know where you are anymore, so it would be pretty hard for anyone else to find you. I suppose that's why he spends so much time there, that's why he's come to live there, or maybe it's just the squirrels. I read about somewhere that he likes squirrels quite a lot. There's these two videos that we got for wedding presents - called the e-files, e-files one and e-files two about how Elvis is supposed to be still alive. And one time when he came round we were watching one of those, but he didn't say anything he just sat on the armchair. He was playing w
ith his collar a bit, and we watched it right through and then when it finished he just got up and walked off into the mist and didn't say anything. the first few times he came round I didn't speak to him at all, I wasn't really sure what to say. And Karen spoke to him quite a lot - she seemed to know what to do more than I do. He had quite a strange manner though, he'd go into your stuff and look through it, then he'd maybe pick something up and play with it for a wee while, but he'd never make any comment about any of it. Seemed pretty rude to me. I just watched whatever Karen did, and listened to how she talked to him and then, after a while I started to copy that, and tell him a few things, not really bothered about whether he responded or said anything back or not. I think the first time I spoke to him we were sitting up on the mezzanine and I said that I would tell him about me and wee Karen, and how it was that we'd come to be living there. I thought he probably liked the fact that we were living there
because he came round so much, so I thought he might want to know how it was that it came about. We did it all over backwards, I told him. First of all we got to know each other, and then a while after that we met, and when we'd known each other for about seven years we decided to have an anniversary, and that went quite well, so after the anniversary we had a honeymoon, and that went well too, so after that we decided that we would get married. That's why we're living there now. I used to think my dad was Elvis, but I haven't told him that yet. I haven't told my dad either...

Before you advertise

All the fame is implied

With no fortune unseen

Sell the rights

To your blight

Time-machine

While I'm dulled by excess

And a cynic at best

My art imitates crime

Paid for by

The allies

So invest

Now I'm finding truth is a ruin

Nauseous end that nobody is pursuing

Staring into glassy eyes

Mesmerized

There's a vintage thirst returning

But I'm sheltered by my channel-surfing

Every famine virtual

Retrovertigo

A tribute to false memories

With conviction

Cheap imitation

Is it fashion or disease?

Post-ironic

Remains a mouth to feed

Sell the rights

To your blight

And you'll eat

Now I'm finding truth is a ruin

Nauseous end that nobody is pursuing

Staring into glassy eyes

Mesmerized

See the vintage robot wearied

Then awakened by revision theories

Every famine virtual

Exodus
It's simple cos it is the people
Fighting for and claiming what remains
Dreaming this is not dreaming
This is the exodus from the game
Dance beneath the stars
We the sound system
We the collective
With an open heart
We the solution
Should be respected
At midnight the pharises plant the poison
False evidence to bring all back in line
It's no method just dealing out by justice
When no-one here's committed any crime
We'll turn the dust to soil
Turn the rust of hate back into passion
It's not water into wine but it's here
And it's happening
Massive but passive
To bring the peace back
Respect here for all the people
Good copper jah lawyer all good minds
Can see there is no evil
The only wrong is fighting changing times

There's nothing new
In this sad story
The slaughter of innocence
Without glory
At the foot of your hill
Without warning
The centre of operations
They attack in the morning
Now you can lie
Like a lame before them
You can dance in the dawn
You can even ignore them
But with your skin on file
There's no escape
P.C. Keen's got the snap shots
And he knows your face
And the press will declare
That you're all mad and insane
And you'll be accused
Of not playing the game
You'll stand in the court
And declare your bravery
For fighting all this
That brings us all slavery
But they won't even see you
hey won't even hear you
Because you are the truth
So nothing can save you
And the southern intelligence unit will say:
'Thanks to you P.C. Keen
You've saved the day'

Good choice.

Down down, you bring me down
I hear you knocking at my door and I cant sleep at night
Your face, it has no place
No room for you inside my house I need to be alone

Dont waste your words I dont need anything from you
I dont care where youve been or what you plan to do

Turn turn, I wish youd learn
Theres a time and place for everything Ive got to get it through
Cut loose, youre no use
I couldnt stand another second in your company

Dont waste your words I dont need anything from you
I dont care where youve been or what you plan to do

Stone me, why cant you see
Youre a no-one nowhere washed up baby whod look better dead

Your tongue is far too long
I dont like the way it sucks and slurps upon my every word

Dont waste your words I dont need anything from you
I dont care where youve been or what you plan to do

I am the resurrection and I am the light
I couldnt ever bring myself to hate you as Id like

I am the resurrection and I am the light
I couldnt ever bring myself to hate you as Id like

His real name was S.Q. Reeder
Everybody knew him as Esquerita
Black Flash Gordon Rocket `58
The rock around was busting out interstate

Thru the green door there`s a gospel piano
Dressed in sequins, war paint, listen to him holler
I guess the Georgia peach came a little too late
The rock around`s busting out interstate
Houlaaa

His real name was S.Q. Reeder
Everybody knew him as Esquerita
Black Flash Gordon Rocket `58
The rock around was busting out interstate

Been a long time here in California
Western Union, I heard from Sister Rosa
The telegram said S.Q. had passed away
Well now preacher what'ch you gotta say

His real name was S.Q.Reeder
Everybody knew him as Esquerita
Black Flash Gordon Rocket `58
The rock around was busting out interstate

His real name was S.Q.Reeder

Black Flash Gordon Rocket `58
The rock around was busting out interstate

Stop your messing around
Better think of your future
Time you straightened right out
Creating problems in town

Rudy, a message to you
Rudy, a message to you

Stop your fooling around
Time you straightened right out
Better think of your future
Else you'll wind up in jail

Rudy, a message to you
Rudy, a message to you

Stop your messing around
Better think of your future
Time you straightened right out
Creating problems in town

Rudy, a message to you
Rudy, a message to you
Rudy, a message to you
Rudy, a message to you

^ I wanty to this now - but can't id it via google

I transcribed the lyrics. :D The chorus is awful but the verses are superb IMO.

It's by Alan Prosser: he's the guitarist in the Oysterband but he's made a few solo albums too. This is off The Nomads Cellar Sessions, which he recorded with a couple of other people a couple of years ago.

Straight ahead
straight ahead
hey

Let's go straight ahead to straight ahead
straight ahead

Come on - straight ahead
moving straight ahead

Keep moving straight ahead
straight ahead
yeah.
So you started from the bottom but you always saw the light
And now you're ready for your journey - one direction reaching high.
Keep the feeling of the spirit always present as you climb.
One direction
one vibration
that's the message
let us try.

Straight ahead
keep moving
yeah
moving straight ahead

Keep moving straight ahead
straight ahead-yeah.

Keep the feeling of the spirit always present as you climb.
One direction
one vibration that's the message -
You can make it if you try. - Keep moving straight ahead

Straight ahead
moving straight ahead.
Keep moving straight ahead in love
oh yeah.
Let's go
let's go.

Keep the spirit high and your heart in love
keep on movin'.
Keep the spirit high and your heart in love.
Keep your head above and your heart in love
keep on movin'

Keep your head above and your heart in love
keep your feelings now
Keep moving straight ahead
straight ahead

Straight ahead
keep moving straight ahead.

What's there to say, there's not much to talk about
And whatever happened to all of the love that we vowed
Yes, it's true
And there's nothing new
You can say

Give me the reason to want you back
Why should I love you again
Do you know, tell me how
How to forgive and forget

Give me the reason to love you now
It's been a mighty long time
And the love that used to be
Ended the day you walked out

Never knew I'd ever be
Standing a love and outside
With no one to love

Yeah-eah
Ooh-ooh-eah

I was secure and so glad there was you to love
What in the world would I ever do without us
But it's getting clear
That I have to get over you

Give me the reason to want you back
Why should I love you again
Do you know, tell me how
How to forgive and forget

Give me the reason to love you now
It's been a mighty long time
And the love that used to be
Ended the day you walked out

Never knew I'd ever be
Standing a love and outside
With no one to love

No one, no one to love
No one, no one to love
No one, no one to love
No one, no one to love

Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
You, ooh-eah-eah

Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah

Give me the reason to want you back
Why should I love you again
Do you know, tell me how
How to forgive and forget

Give me the reason to love you now
It's been a mighty long time
And the love that used to be
Ended the day you walked out

Give me the reason
To love you, girl
To love you, girl
To love you, girl
To love you, girl
To love you, girl

Give me the reason
To love you, girl
To love you
To love you, girl
Ooh

To love you, girl
To love you, girl
To love you, girl
To love you, girl

Me and the Major could become close friends cause we
Get on the same train and he wants to talk to me
Me and the Major could become close friends cause we
Get on the same train and he wants to talk
But there is too much history, too much biography between us

Me and the Major don't see eye to eye on a
Number of things, he'll take a guy like me and then
Me and the Major don't see eye to eye on a
Number of things, he'll take a guy like me
And put him in the army
Cause the Queen's own army makes a man of you

But he doesn't understand and he doesn't try
He knows there's something missing and he knows it's you and I
We're the younger generation, we grew up fast
All the others did drugs
They're taking it out on us
They're taking it out on us

Me and the Major are from different worlds, but if
I get stuck in the lift it's always with a toff
Me and the Major are from different worlds, but if
I get stuck in the lift it's always with a man
Of noble standing who looks down on me like I was never born

I think the Major's going quite insane, he goes
Along the pavement and comes back again, oh yeah
I think the Major's going quite insane, he goes
Along the pavement and comes back again
Like he is on parade, and he is on parade
At least he thinks so

Now he is swapping his tent for a sheltered home
He doesn't have a family, he is living alone
He remembers all the punks and the hippies too
And he remembers Roxy Music in seventy-two
He doesn't understand and he doesn't try
He knows there's something missing and he knows it's you and I
We're the younger generation, we grew up fast
All the others did drugs
They're taking it out on us
They're taking it out on us
They're taking it out on us

I want a dance, I want a drink of whiskey so I
Forget the Major and go up the town
Because the snow is falling

Been listening to this song - and I can't stop thinking about that special person in me life :)

I've nothing much to offer
There's nothing much to take
I'm an absolute beginner
And I'm absolutely sane
As long as we're together
The rest can go to hell
I absolutely love you
But we're absolute beginners
With eyes completely open
But nervous all the same

If our love song
Could fly over mountains
Could laugh at the ocean
Just like the films
There's no reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It's absolutely true

Nothing much could happen
Nothing we can't shake
Oh we're absolute beginners
With nothing much at stake
As long as you're still smiling
There's nothing more I need
I absolutely love you
But we're absolute beginners
But if my love is your love
We're certain to succeed

If our love song
Could fly over mountains
Sail over heartaches
Just like the films
There's no reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It's absolutely true

Last night, she said:
"Oh, baby, I feel so down.
Oh it turns me off,
When I feel left out"

So I walked out:
"Oh, baby, don't care no more
I know this for sure,
I'm walkin' out that door"

Well, I've been in town for just about fifteen minutes now
And Baby, I feel so down
And I don't know why
I keep walkin' for miles

See, people they don't understand
No, girlfriends, they can't understand
Your Grandsons, they won't understand
On top of this, I ain't ever gonna understand...

Last night, she said:
"Oh, baby, don't feel so down.
Oh, it turns me off,
When I feel left out"

So I, I turn 'round:
"Oh, baby, gonna be alright"
It was a great big lie
'Cause I left that night, yeah

Oh, people they don't understand
No, girlfriends, they won't understand
Your grandsons, they won't understand
And me, I ain't ever gonna understand...

Last night, she said:
"Oh, baby, I feel so down.
See, it turns me off,
When I feel left out"

So I, I turn 'round:
"Oh, little girl, I don't care no more.
I know this for sure,
I'm walking out that door," yeah

at school he was no genius
but still he didnt care
he was strong and he was happy
in the sky and in the air
soon he would become a man
and try and reach his goal
but the joy he had soon turned to bitterness

She lay in bed all night watching the morning change
She lay in bed all night watching the colours change
She lay in bed all night watching the colours change into green and gold

The doctor told her years ago that she was ill
The doctor told her years ago to take a pill
The doctor told her years ago that shed go blind if she wasnt careful

They let lisa go blind
The world was at her feet and she was looking down
They let lisa go blind
But everyone she knew thought she was beautiful
Only slightly mental
Beautiful, a bit temperamental
Beautiful, only slightly mental
Beautiful

She thought it would be fun to try photography
She thought it would be fun to try pornography
She thought it would be fun to try most anything
She was tired of sleeping

They let lisa go blind, let lisa go blind, let lisa go blind
They let lisa go blind
Shes looking like a queen
But if you knew whats going on in her life
Thered be a thousand barren mothers there to talk to her
If you knew whats going on in her life
Thered be two hundred troubled teenagers to sit with her
And to talk to her
If you knew whats going on in her life
Whats going on in her life
Whats going on in her life
There would be a documentary on radio 4

She made herself a pair of orthopaedic shoes
She thought it was the answer to the fashion blues
She mad herself a pair of orthopaedic shoes
But she walked with a limp

I transcribed the lyrics. :D The chorus is awful but the verses are superb IMO.

It's by Alan Prosser: he's the guitarist in the Oysterband but he's made a few solo albums too. This is off The Nomads Cellar Sessions, which he recorded with a couple of other people a couple of years ago.

thaks  *makes note*

Hello, good evening and welcome
to nothing much
A no holds barred half -nelson
and the loving touch
The comfort and the joy
of feeling lost
With the only living boy in New Cross

Fill another suitcase
with another hall
Of hotel towels and toothpaste
and the bathroom wall
Then wipe the lipstick hearts and flowers
from the glass and chrome
Take five or six hot showers
and come on home
To the comfort and the joy
of feeling lost
With the only living boy in New Cross

I've teamed up with the hippies now
I've got my fringe unfurled
I want to give peace, love and kisses out
to this whole stinking world
The gypsies, the travellers and the thieves
The good, the bad, the average and unique
The grebos the crusties and the goths
And the only living boy in New Cross

Eyes down and I'll keep you up to date
Two fat ladies in 1988
The safe sixteen lovers who lied
Purley's queen and mother makes five
Butchered bakers, deaf and dumb waiters
Marble Arch criminals and clause 28'ers
Authers, authors, plastered outcasts
Locked up daughter, rock and roll stars
Goodbye Rudy, David and Rosie
Abraham and Julianne
and everyone that knows me

The gypsies, the travellers and the thieves
The good, the bad, the average and unique
The grebos the crusties and you and I
Hello, goodevening, welcome
and goodbye
