Mm mm, mm mm, mm mm, mm mm, mm mm, mm mm, mm mm, oh.
Now i've lost the plot.
I'm not the hero i could be,
But not the dog i was.
Kind of common cry,
Kind of common living lie.
Color my fast fading heart.
People laugh at anything,
And things just fall apart.
Kind of common cry,
Kind of common living lie.
You know the shape my breath will take before i let it out.
Stand like you did when i was beauty-marked in your eyes.
Now they'll sleep on lies.
Now eyes burn circles in the dark,
And when the mirror talks to me,
I listen with my heart.
Kind of common cry,
Kind of common living lie.
You know the shape my breath will take before i let it out.
Stand like you did when i was beauty-marked in your eyes.
Now they'll sleep all right.
You know the shape my breath will take before i let it out.
Stand like you did when i was beauty-marked in your eyes.
Stand like you did when i was beauty-marked in your eyes.
One common cry do do do do.
One common cry do do do do.
One common cry do do do do.
One common cry do do do do oh-ooo.

My daddy left home when I was three
And he didn't leave much to ma and me
Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze.
Now, I don't blame him cause he run and hid
But the meanest thing that he ever did
Was before he left, he went and named me "Sue."

Well, he must o' thought that is quite a joke
And it got a lot of laughs from a' lots of folk,
It seems I had to fight my whole life through.
Some gal would giggle and I'd get red
And some guy'd laugh and I'd bust his head,
I tell ya, life ain't easy for a boy named "Sue."

Well, I grew up quick and I grew up mean,
My fist got hard and my wits got keen,
I'd roam from town to town to hide my shame.
But I made a vow to the moon and stars
That I'd search the honky-tonks and bars
And kill that man who gave me that awful name.

Well, it was Gatlinburg in mid-July
And I just hit town and my throat was dry,
I thought I'd stop and have myself a brew.
At an old saloon on a street of mud,
There at a table, dealing stud,
Sat the dirty, mangy dog that named me "Sue."

Well, I knew that snake was my own sweet dad
From a worn-out picture that my mother'd had,
And I knew that scar on his cheek and his evil eye.
He was big and bent and gray and old,
And I looked at him and my blood ran cold
And I said: "My name is 'Sue!' How do you do!
Now your gonna die!!"

Well, I hit him hard right between the eyes
And he went down, but to my surprise,
He come up with a knife and cut off a piece of my ear.
But I busted a chair right across his teeth
And we crashed through the wall and into the street
Kicking and a' gouging in the mud and the blood and the beer.

I tell ya, I've fought tougher men
But I really can't remember when,
He kicked like a mule and he bit like a crocodile.
I heard him laugh and then I heard him cuss,
He went for his gun and I pulled mine first,
He stood there lookin' at me and I saw him smile.

And he said: "Son, this world is rough
And if a man's gonna make it, he's gotta be tough
And I knew I wouldn't be there to help ya along.
So I give ya that name and I said goodbye
I knew you'd have to get tough or die
And it's the name that helped to make you strong."

He said: "Now you just fought one hell of a fight
And I know you hate me, and you got the right
To kill me now, and I wouldn't blame you if you do.
But ya ought to thank me, before I die,
For the gravel in ya guts and the spit in ya eye
Cause I'm the son-of-a-bitch that named you "Sue.'"

I got all choked up and I threw down my gun
And I called him my pa, and he called me his son,
And I came away with a different point of view.
And I think about him, now and then,
Every time I try and every time I win,
And if I ever have a son, I think I'm gonna name him
Bill or George! Anything but Sue! I still hate that name!

If I saw you now
Could I look in your eyes?

Do you think of me
Like I dream of you?

Do you wish you were here
Like I wish I was with you?

You've loved me before
Do you love me now?

Does love ever end
When two hearts have torn away?
Or does it go on
And beat strong anyway?
You've loved me before
Do you love me now?

Come back to me right now!
C'mon c'mon come back to me right now!

C'mon c'mon come back to me right now!
C'mon c'mon come on!

You've loved me before
Do you love me now?

You've loved me before
Do you love me now?

You laugh at the people who walk outside on the sidewalk
And you talk to yourself so much
when you see other people you can't talk
This time it's true
The charade is through
And you can't seem to run away from you
Away from you
And the haggard ex-lover of a long-time loser
Stands rejectedly by the door
Doesn't Lenny live here any more?
Are you sure?

You sit at the desk
To lose your life in a letter
But the words don't seem to come and you know that they're better
and it's all so strange
Pictures lose their frame
And I'll bet you never guessed
There was so much pain
So much pain
Until the haggard ex-lover of a long-time loser
Stands rejectedly by the door
Doesn't Lenny live here any more?
Are you sure?

The moon, she shines too soon and simply sadly
You loved your love so much that you'd strangle her madly
And it's all so slow
Time has ceased to flow
And the whistling whore knows something you don't know
And the haggard ex-lover of a long-time loser
Stands rejectedly by the door
Doesn't Lenny live here any more?
Are you sure?

You swore you'd store your love for one time only
Now you searched the books in vain for better word for lonely
And you're torn apart
No other love will start
And you, you'd like to steal a happy heart
A happy heart
Then the haggard ex-lover of a long-time loser
Stands rejectedly by the door
Doesn't Lenny live here any more?
Are you sure?

The fat official smiles at the pass on the border
And the hungry broom makes sure that the room is in order
You pull the shade
All the beds are made
As your lips caress the razor of the blade
Of the blade
And the haggard ex-lover of a long-time loser
Stands rejectedly by the door
Doesn't Lenny live here any more?
Are you sure?

The soul of the sun shines just outsde of the winter
The shoulders charged, the boards of the barricade is splintered
Now at last alone
The flashlight is shown
Hello inside is there anybody home?
Anybody home?
It's the haggard ex-lover of a long-time loser
Standing rejectedly by the door
Doesn't Lenny live here any more?
Are you sure?
Are you sure?
Are you sure?

You're just a little girl with grey eyes
Never mind, say something
Wait until the crowd cries
Oh, wait until the crowd cries
You're just a little girl with grey eyes

So deep in your room,
You never leave your room
Something deep inside of me
Yearning deep inside of me
Talking through the gloom
What in the world can you do
What in the world can you do
I'm in the mood for your love
For your love
For your love

I'm just a little bit afraid of you
Cause love won't make you cry
But, wait
until the crowd goes
Oh, wait
until the crowd goes
I'm just a little bit afraid of you

So deep in your room,
You never leave your room
Something deep inside of me
Yearning deep inside of me
Talking through the gloom
What in the world can I do
What in the world can I do
I'm in the mood for your love
For your love
For your love

Oh, what you gonna say?
Oh, what you gonna do?
Ah, what you gonna be?
To the real me
to the real me

Ahhhh, ahhhh, ahhhh, ahhhh [repeat ad inf.]

(lol at their brackets)

^ yeah - prefer it from @ side 2 though but this has just got to me for the first time

Every chance,
every chance that I take
I take it on the road
Those kilometres and the red lights
I was always looking left and right
Oh, but I'm always crashing
in the same car

Jasmine, I saw you peeping
As I pushed my foot down to the floor
I was going round and round the hotel garage
Must have been touching close to 94
Oh, but I'm always crashing
in the same car

Little flightless metal birds
High above in limbless tree
Ring out into the atmosphere
Creating beauty inadvertently

It was a technological feat

This little bird

Wading through the market's waste
We locked eyes felt our lonliness abate
True desire showed its face, but only momentarily

Grey cascades in foreign waves
Wash the day away

I bought you from the dying woods of Brazil
This little bird
While the kids burned down the greenhouse pushed the
Charred frame into the landfill
Put his beak to the world
We bought new bodies we bought diamond encrusted guns
So who the hell are you?
Making out so high in the backseat of a car-bomb under carcinogenic sun

Grey cascades in foreign waves
Wash the day away
Grey cascades in foreign waves

We did believe in magic we did believe
We let our souls act as canaries
Our hearts gilded cages be

Watched a million dimming lanterns float out to sea
Lay your malady at the mouth of the death machine

Aeroplane odabo
ba mi ki won lo Odabo
Eko meji, o yo mi
O yo mi
O yo mi

Grey cascades in foreign waves
Wash the day away
Grey cascades in foreign waves

Night has drawn the curtain
Covered up their eyes
The angels will not hear him
His spirits start to rise
There's music from the bar
Drunken laughter down the hall
Is it pain or is it pleasure
You're hearing through the wall?

'Cruising for a bruising'
Tattooed above their hearts
It'd take the strength of Mary
To hold the boys apart
They flicker in their footsteps
A voltage overload
Dazzling the dancers like they're
Fixing to explode
You find them later, lying in the road

Granite years
Harbour lights, city nights and bitter tears
And you don't care where you're going
Say that I was foolish
Say that I was blind
But never say that I got left behind

Love you for a lifetime, but
I haven't strength to try
If I loved you for an hour
It wouldn't be a lie
Say that I was foolish
Say that I was blind
A seller bought a buyer
And the buyer didn't mind
Anything you ask I'll pay in kind

Granite years
Harbour lights, city nights and bitter tears
And you don't care where you're going
Say that I was foolish
Say that I was blind
But never say that I got left behind

The wind is off the sea tonight
It whistles through his soul
A solitary copper
Hopes that God is on patrol
A single star is shining
Across the evening sky
Sending us a message
They are waving us goodbye
They are waving us a long, long goodbye
Thousands of light years, goodbye!

Granite years
Harbour lights, city nights and bitter tears
And you don't care where you're going
Say that I was foolish
Say that I was blind
But never say that I got left behind

oh my stars:

Now I know why
you're floating away
like a white balloon
untied today or last night

I like the sounds
you when you sleep
like you're eating a meal
grinding your teeth or just breathing

Oh my stars
Crying, "Oh my stars!"
Oh my stars
Can't strangle anyone who has light
in their life

Put your mouth here on my belly
Put your fingers in my hair
After mountains there are valleys
We can fall asleep there

Sometimes it's hard
thinking about how the plans we made
won't happen today or tonight

I'm trying real hard
to not make you feel
like you've done something wrong
by leaving the chips open

(I won't wake you up)
Singing, "Oh my stars"
Oh my stars
Oh my stars
Can't strangle all my friends and their wives
and their sons' wives

Put your neck here on your best friend's
Hold your mouth up to the phone
Use the seatbelt like a bookend
We can sleep when we get home

and

screw up your courage

i can't
begin
to explain
what went
down, and if
i did, would you
understand?
half of
all my eyes
don't know how
to wink

hey, my heart
it's not a race;
all the same,
a good head start helps

-simultaneously-
it would scare
you shitless, unless
you're dead;
already put down
like a horse with a broken leg/
scarecrow waits
for crows to scare
my friend paces,
twists his hair tips

so my hands
will be red again
(i'm caught canary in a mine)
and oh, your legs
will mend again
(i'll charge the gate and gleam)

oh,
be
firm, and
ask me again

-simultaneously-
i hope someone
will unpack this crate,
will unwrap this cape cos it's
choking me/
i hope someone will
pack it up,
wrap me up
in holy cloth

and store me in
pyramids

you could bring
me juice, or
saltines when
i'm under
the weather, and
over you

all our songs
in unison
(here's where you bled, and here's where i did)
get your courage
to sick in place
(fight off the doubt that sings like silence)

-simultaneously-
oh,
be
firm, and/
oh,
just
speak
up, and

ask me again

fuck this is epic

I want to smash your house
I want to scratch your car
I want to fuck your wife
I want to wreck your life
I want to hear you snap
I want to feel you fucking crack.
I don’t like the world today;
I’m gonna build it my own way.
I’m a man, I am society,
You don't like it I’ll turn you into me
You can’t stand the sight of me
and all the pain I bring.
I showed you what it’s like
to fucking hate your life
now you see things like me and you will never be the same.
We cancelled all your plans,
you want to give up man.
You ruined life for us; we’ll ruin life for you.
so you'll just have to learn
it's for the best. I've heard
it only hurts for a moment
the baiting of the public.
Shout, cry asking why you feel like shit.
You want to die.

Sometime
They say that love is blind
But I think that dumb is what they had in mind
I could let it go
But I'd rather know
If I sit around
Will another show

Sometime
I get to fly so high
That the sun burns my wings but I will fly
Just a little too far
'cause that's where you are
And I won't bring you down
Believe in me

Sometime
I like to sit around
I'm just contemplating sitting round
I could lay in bed
Like my mamma said
Don't just do something
Sit around instead

Sometime
If I may say myself
I'm not bad at life, I'm not good as well
And though life goes on
I can plainly see
Just what is it for
If it's not for me

Sometime
Though it's a big surprise
I may compromise the thing I most desire
I can say with pride
Hold my head up high
That I had a great idea
But never mind

Oh babe
I'm going nowhere
Nowhere's where I wanna be

Oh babe
I'm good for nothing
Nothing is good enough for me
Anything, anything can come to anybody
Everything, everything can come to someone
Sometime

Oh babe
I'm good for nothing
Nothing is good enough for me
Anything, anything can come to anybody
Everything, everything can come to someone
Sometime

Sometime
Opportunity
Price is right by me living even slow
I can't breath and think
And I need a drink
All this common sense
Made a fool of me

Sometime
I like to sit around
I'm just contemplating sitting round
I could lay in bed
Like my mamma said
Don't just do something
Sit around instead

Sometime
I like to fly so high
That the sun burns my wings but I will fly
Just a little too far
'cause that's where you are
And I won't bring you down
Believe in me

Sometime
I get me all confused
And the reasons why I confuse you to
I could be with you
Try to sort it out
If I tell the truth
I like to lie about

Sometime
Though it's a big surprise
I may compromise
The thing I most desire
I can say with pride
Hold my head up high
That I had a great idea
But never mind

Sometime
I like to sit around
I'm just contemplating sitting round
And though life goes on
I can plainly see
All this common sense
Made a fool of me

I don't wanna live
But I can't resist

I've got some reasons
And I made amends

I'm gonna drown before my ship comes in
And I forgot to ring my mum again
And life ain't good without cigarettes

hey're digging up human remains
In Notting Hills
Behind the screens, behind the wall
In our backgarden

Don't you know when you're well off?
Don't you know when times are good?

I just want to be loved
I just want to be loved
I just want to be loved
I just want to be loved

They're asking questions door to door
Our friends in neighbours
They're piecing it together now
In perfect order

Don't you know when you're well off?
Make the best of English weather
Sort the roses 'round the door
We'll be growing old together

I just want to be loved
I just want to be loved
I just want to be loved
I just want to be loved

Don't you know when you're well off?
Don't look a gift horse in the mounts

I just want to be loved
I just want to be loved
I just want to be loved
I just want to be loved
I just want to be loved
I just want to be loved
I just want to be loved (I just want to be loved)
I just want to be loved (I just want to be...)
I just want to be loved (They're digging up human remains)
I just want to be loved (In Notting Hills) (I just want to be...)
I just want to be loved (Behind the screens, behind the wall)
I just want to be loved (In our backgarden) (I just want to be...)
I just want to be loved (They're digging up human remains)
I just want to be loved (In Notting Hills) (I just want to be...)
I just want to be loved (Behind the screens, behind the wall)
I just want to be loved (In Notting Hills) (I just want to be...)

black box recorder, i love you .

Out of sight is always out of mind
I think out of mind is out of sight
I was just looking for some peace of mind
I just couldn't find a peace of mine
They say that pride comes just before a fall
I have fallen and I wasn't sure
You know that I have fallen further before
I just cannot stand falling no more

If I am good I could add years to my life
I would rather add some life to my years
Life is really what you make it they say
I can't even make my mind up today
The world keeps turning it keeps me in my place
Where I stand is only three miles from space
Standing space is all the space I can stand
Gravity just keeps on keeping me down
(bridge)
OUT OF SIGHT IS ALWAYS OUT OF MIND
I THINK OUT OF MIND IS OUT OF SIGHT
I WAS JUST LOOKING FOR SOME PEACE OF MIND
BUT I JUST COULDN'T FIND A PEACE OF MIND
THEY SAY THAT PRIDE COMES JUST BEFORE A FALL
I HAVE FALLEN AND I WASN'T PROUD
YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE FALLEN FURTHER BEFORE
I JUST CANNOT STAND FALLING NO MORE
IF I AM GOOD I COULD ADD YEARS TO MY LIFE
I WOULD RATHER ADD SOME LIFE TO MY YEARS
AND LIFE IS REALLY WHAT YOU MAKE IT THEY SAY
I CAN'T EVEN MAKE MY MIND UP TODAY
THE PLANET SPINS AND IT KEEPS ME IN MY PLACE
WHERE I STAND IS ONLY THREE MILES FROM SPACE
WE'RE GETTING CLOSER NOW TO BEING APART
I (CAN'T (ADMIT I PEOPLE ?) RIGHT FROM THE START ?
(KINDA MISS YOU PEOPLE ?
(Counted on (the) people"?

I love you
Like I love the sunrise in the morning
I miss you
Like I miss the water when Im burning
I didnt mean to hurt you, dear
The words just came out wrong
Now Im broken down and lonely
And Im so cold at night...

Nothing hurts you like the pain of someone you love,
There ain't nothing you can gain that prepares you enough

Come on baby, stop your crying,
Come on baby, stop your crying now,
Come on baby, stop your crying,
Come on baby, stop your crying now

Nothing hurts you like the pain of someone you care about,
If I could take it all myself, you know, I sure would,
Without a doubt

Come on baby, stop your crying,
Come on baby, stop your crying now,
Come on baby, stop your crying,
Come on baby, stop your crying now

Nothing hurts you like the pain of someone so close to you,
I feel so broke inside, but I'll devote my life to lovin' you...

Come on baby, stop your crying,
Come on baby, stop your crying now,
Come on baby, stop your crying,
Come on baby, stop your crying now

[repeat chorus to fade out]

i never post on this but....

Huricane by mos def just came on and i havent heard it for ages and i want to post the lyrics and theres not a hiphop thread about.

Same story, same target, different time
Cyclical reaction from the prisoners of the bilnd
Trying to fight time, its a battle of the mind
Waiting for redemption, surviving in a bind

Same story, same target, different time
Cyclical reaction from the prisoners of the blind
Trying to fight time, its a battle of the mind
Waiting for redemption, surviving in a bind

Yo, talk about paying the ultimate price
Hurricane been incarcerated all of his life
Started out at like twelve
Trapped in a belly of hell
Grew into a man inside of a cell
Yo, anger just swell up
At a early age that develop
Hot head and now it aint shit yall could tell him
They said hes on a road to become a felon
But instead he swung blows thatll spilt your melon
He did his thing and was the king of the ring, undisputed
Started making noise but they tried to mute it
They put him through it
For him to make the system look stupid, [yo]
They rather look you in the face and shoot it
And leave your spot looted [or what]
Or leave your whole life blank futured and caught
When you scream at it and do it
With sweat leaking from the outline of your soluid
Dont understand the point that you at
Or how the hell you came to it?
Flashback to images of that night, out in patterson
They pulled him over heading home from a gathering
And when they told him the charge it kind of baffled him
Murder in the first for the champ, we on that again?

Chorus

Hurricane
Accuse a hurricane
Aint change a damned shame
Its life for hurricane, hurricane

*overtop of sung chorus*
Forever, imagine your locked down forever
Could yall stand the weather?
Could you hold it together?
You tell me that you know the pain
Yo, imagine if your life was like a hurricane, a hurricane
Forever, imagine your locked down forever
Could yall stand the weather?
You built for that weather?
Yo, know whatm saying?
Know whatm saying?

[common]
You gotta fight for what you believe in
Nobody knows the troubles seen
This flick left me wondering
what can become of kings and young kids?
Summer dream deferred, incident occured, freedom blurred
A freedom that would only be retrieved again in words, later on
The cops, yall know what they be on
A niggas life is like a field that they play upon, away and gone from
Natural lifer, a soul he had to fight,
Learn it himself, sleep days, stay up half the night
Amongst dead man walking, he got afterlife exercising,
Developing his knack to write
Never leaving his cell, in this world he trapped himself
What he loved on the outside world, detached himself
You know the cards blacks get dealt by the system
He drew a picture of freedom with many dimensions
This picture proved to be bigger than black and white
A young soul named lesra brought him back to life
Its amazing to a man what a book could do
And how certain books seem to look for you
This is the story of a champions fall and rise
The story left me wiping my eyes
Peace ru

Chorus

Hurricane
Accuse a hurricane
Aint change a damned shame
Its life for hurricane, hurricane

*overtop of sung chorus*
Yo, yo, forever, imagine your locked down forever
Could yall stand the weather?
Could you hold it together?
You tell me that you know the pain
Yo, imagine if your life was like a hurricane, a hurricane
Forever and ever yo, locked down forever
Could you stand the weather?
Yo, yo I cant even explain the pain
Just imagine if your life was like a hurricane

[mos def]
Yes, I am the inescapable, the irresistable,
The unnegotiable, the unchallenged [who dat? ]
I am time
I scroll in measurements, control the elements,
I hold the evidence, I tell the story [say what? ]
I am time
I know no prejudice, I bare no sentiments
For wealth or settlement, I move forward [who you? ]
I am time
You cant recover me, conceal or smuggle me,
Retreat or run from me, crawl up or under me,
You cant do much for me besides serve
Me well and have good dividends returned to you
Or attempt to kill me off and have me murder you
Many have wasted me but now they are facing me,
Treated me unfaithfully and now endure me painfully
Plaintively, I wait to see what history will shape to be,
Whos hearts will never die inside the sake of me
Angels scribe the page for me,
Keep a full account of all the names for me
And make a special mark for hurricane who (? ) patiently

Chorus

Hurricane
Accuse a hurricane
Aint change a damned shame
Its life for hurricane, hurricane

[black thought]
*overtop of sung chorus*
Yo, yo, a hurricane forever,
Imagine your locked down forever
Could you stand the weather?
Could you hold it together?
I cant even explain the pain
Imagine if your life was like a hurricane, a hurricane
Forever, imagine your locked down forever and ever, ever
Could you hold it together?
Yo, cant explain the pain with words, knowm saying?
Just imagine if your life was like a hurricane

[verse 4]
The clouds clashed and the heavens gave birth to star
God placed it in a man on the day he was born
Convicted minutes after, a true natural disaster
Framed for manslaughter, the hurricane carter rising
From out the south water, like torrential rains
In the ring no opponent escaped unscathed
You cant believe the world we live ins injust
All I see is more proof, theres no place for us
They had my man carter locked in a cage, like an animal
Drive him to the point where the mind work mechanical
Or works by remote control
It was done to all of us, they tapped directly into our soul
Either its sing-sing, or its bars around your mind
Theres no where to run, no where to hide
In a six-by-six a guilty man cries
For repentance and lost is what innocence is

Same story, same target, different time
Cyclical reaction from the prisoners of the bilnd
Trying to fight time, its a battle of the mind
Waiting for redemption, surviving in a bind

Same story, same target, different time
Cyclical reaction from the prisoners of the blind
Trying to fight time, its a battle of the mind
Waiting for redemption, surviving in a bind

Chorus

Hurricane
Accuse a hurricane
Aint change a damned shame
Its life for hurricane, hurricane

[black thought]
*overtop of sung chorus*
Your locked down forever
Could you stand the weather?
Could you hold it together?
I cant even explain the pain, knowm saying?
Your life was like a hurricane, a hurricane
Forever, imagine behind bars forever
Could you stand the weather?
You built for that? is you cut for that?
Dont be telling me that you know the pain
Your life was like a hurricane, yo

Same story, same target, different time
Cyclical reaction from the prisoners of the bilnd
Trying to fight time, its a battle of the mind
Waiting for redemption, surviving in a bind

Same story, same target, different time
Cyclical reaction from the prisoners of the blind
Trying to fight time, its a battle of the mind
Waiting for redemption, surviving in a bind

Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away

When the war is over
Got to get away
Pack my bag to no place
In no time no day
You and I we used each other's shoulder
Still so young but somehow so much older
How can I go home and not get
Blown away

You and I had our sights set
On something
Hope this doesn't mean our days are numbered
I got plans for more than a wanted man
All around this chaos and madness
Can't help feeling nothing more than sadness
Only choice to face it the best I can

When the war is over
Got to start again
Try to hold a trace of what it was
Back then
You and I we sent each other stories
Just a page I'm lost in all its glory
How can I go home and not get blown away

Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away

Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away

the vampire weekend version :)

Can you hear me calling
Out your name
You know that Im falling
And I dont know what to say

Ill speak a little louder
Ill even shout
You know that Im pround
And I cant get the words out

Oh i...
I want to be with you everywhere
Oh i...
I want to be with you everywhere
(wanna be with you everywhere)

Somethings happening
Happening to me
My friends say Im acting peculiarly

Cmon baby
We better make a start
You better make it soon
Before you break my heart

Oh i...
I want to be with you everywhere
Oh i...
I want to be with you everywhere
(wanna be with you everywhere)

Can you hear me calling
Out your name
You know that Im falling
And I dont know what to say

Come along baby
We better make a start
You better make it soon
Before you break my heart

Oh i...
I want to be with you everywhere
Oh i...
I want to be with you everywhere
Oh i...
I want to be with you everywhere
Oh i...
I want to be with you everywhere
(wanna be with you everywhere)

I'd move to Rockferry,
Tomorrow
And I'd build my house, baby
With sorrow

I'd leave my shadow,
To fall behind
And I wouldn't write to you
'cos I'm not that kind

The midnight trains are boarding
All wrap up 8s
I pich my load and i fill my truck
before its too late

I leave the stars to judge
my every move
I'm not going to think of you, oh
I'd get the blues

Theres no sleep on the journey
away from time
A bag of songs and a heavy heart
won't make me down

i'll give it all my strength and my mind
i'll make this decision with or without

I'd move to Rockferry,
Tomorrow
And I'd build my house, baby
With sorrow

I'd leave my shadow,
To fall behind
And i wouldn't write to you
'cos i'm not that kind
not that kind

tell me something, if you can say no, he comes for me, he comes for me, he comes for me, diety, diety, diety, diety, it wouldn't matter, looking for someone, he comforts me, he comforts me, diety, resurrection, coming in stereo, if you say so, if you say so, he comes for me, blood and wine, tv divinity, he covets me, he covets me, diety

As heard in Hootenannny tonight!
Lambeth you've never seen,
The skies ain't blue, the grass ain't green.
It hasn't got the Mayfair touch,
But that don't matter very much.
We play the Lambeth way,
Not like you but a bit more gay
And when we have a bit of fun
Oh, Boy.

Anytime you're Lambeth way
Any evening, any day,
You'll find us all doin' the Lambeth walk.

Ev'ry little Lambeth gal
With her little Lambeth pal,
You'll find 'em all doin' the Lambeth walk.

Ev'rything's free and easy,
Do as you darn well pleasey,
Why don't you make your way there,
Go there, stay there,

Once you get down Lambeth way,
Ev'ry evening, ev'ry day,
You'll find yourself doin' the Lambeth walk.
Doin' the Lambeth-
Doin' the Lambeth-
Doin' the Lambeth walk!

I'm sure it was fun. Fucking hate that song though.

Somehow it hurts even more that a Welshman would take to its charms.

Always reminds me of either a drunken Christmas or another mind-sapping episode of Eastenders.

Pass me the shooter...

I've never heard it played in any London pub/club, ever. And I've been frequenting London boozers for a very, very long time - including my many years living n the East End.

After I played the Mrs Mills version tonight, a guy came up and asked what it was because him and his mates wanted to base a new song around it for the Brixton market campaign.

*chuffed

ever been to The Dove in Bethnal green? Circa 1994 there was an o.a.p dressed as a fairy with a coat hanger shaped to her head who used to sing Lambeth walk along with other cock-er-nee classics on a casio keyboard while making various calls to the 'UFO folk'. The landlord said he put her on 'cos she drew the biggest crowd other than on NYE. :D

Darling your brow is wet
you've got a fever
darling rest your head
i'll make you a believer
baby come away from the window
i don't want you to see it
the things that you might see
you won't want to repeat it

cause it's a sick sick world
i'll be your medicine
come on take me take me
i'll make you feel better

when your mother bore you
boy did she adore you
she wanted to protect you
from the world she brought you into
but your curiosity
took you by the arm
make sure you take me with you
when you go into the unknown

cause it's a sick sick world
i'll be your medicine
so come on take me take me
i'll make you feel better

it's a sick sick world
i'll be your medicine
just come on take me take me
i'll make you feel better
