L'altra notte in fondo al mare
Il mio bimbo hanno gittato,
Or per farmi delirare dicon ch'io
L'abbia affogato.
L'aura è fredda,
Il carcer fosco,
E la mesta anima mia
Come il passero del bosco
Vola, vola, vola via.
Ah! Pietà di me!
In letargico sopore
E' mia madre addormentata,
E per colmo dell'orrore dicon ch'io
L'abbia attoscata.
L'aura è fredda,
Il carcer fosco, ecc.

And how can we win
When fools can be kings

Don't waste your time
Or time will waste you

No one's gonna take me alive
The time has come to make things right

You and I must fight for our rights
You and I must fight to survive

No one's gonna take me alive
The time has come to make things right

You and I must fight for our rights
You and I must fight to survive

No one's gonna take me alive
The time has come to make things right

You and I must fight for our rights
You and I must fight to survive

This is your last chance.
After this there is no turning back.
You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.
You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbithole goes.

Where we go from now, is a choice I leave to you...

Take the blue pill, take the red pill,... (16 times)
Take the bluuue, take the reeed,... (4 times)
And I show you how deep the rabbithole goes.

Take the blue pill, take the red pill,... (7 times)
Where we go from now, is a choice I leave to you.

Take the bluuue, take the reeed,... (2 times)
Take the blue pill, take the red pill. (with echo)

Take the blue pill, take the red pill,... (6 times)
And I show you how deep the rabbithole goes.
Where we go from now, is a choice I leave to you.

Take the blue pill, take the red pill,... (8 times)
Take the bluuue, take the reeed,... (3 times)

I took a walk (he was walkin' up and down Broadway)
I was hungry (he had an eye out for a swell cafe)
I was searchin' (he was soundin' for a bite to munch)
I found a spot (he took a table at the Merchants Lunch)
Oh, the Merchants Lunch, it was an ocean of gloom
It looked like half past midnight in the afternoon

Down by the bar (a rat-faced manager was pouring suds)
For the boys (Trailways cowboys in their Goodwill duds)
And the girls (a pride of peddle-pushin' pinball queens)
Chewin' gum (in sweaty combat at the Wizard machines)
But the queen of them all, lookin' big as a fort
Was Broadway Brenda and her derelict court

I ordered a blue plate special and peered out through the room
Just to see what kind of citizens inhabited this gloom
And the hapless visages I saw were innocent of cheer
Though mirthless laughter filled the air inspired by wine and beer

From these helpless accidents of Fortune's careless aim
Broadway Brenda rose upon her queen-sized six foot frame
I looked away to shun her eyes but I knew it was too late
A hand fell on my shoulder as my gaze fell on my plate

I looked her up and over (and she did the same to me)
Her teeth were green (as green as garden peas)
She shaped her hair (with dishpan fingertips)
An earthquake of excitement shook her Krakatoan hips
Her hands went to her bosom, a hush fell on the crew
An acre of Brenda lay exposed to view

These fevered words she whispered as I gazed upon the scene,
"It's the custom here at Merchants Lunch to entertain the queen"
I grabbed my hat (and in an instant he was on his feet)
I was sober (as a judge down at the county seat)
I kept my diesel up to 80 way past Baton Rouge
Made it back to Beaumont for the "Evening News"

I own a wide-load rig (he pays thousands in tax
He's gonna keep it it Texas)-- I ain't leavin' for snacks
(He's a driving fool) the interstate belongs to me
But I'm never going back (into the state of Tennessee)

Oh, the Merchants Lunch, it was an ocean of gloom
It looked like half past midnight in the afternoon.

Mad about the boy
I know it's stupid to be mad about the boy
I'm so ashamed of it but must admit the sleepless nights I've had
About the boy

On the silverscreen
He melts my foolish heart in every single scene
Although I'm quite aware that here and there are traces of the cad
About the boy

Lord knows I'm not a fool girl
I really shouldn't care
Lord knows I'm not a school girl
In the fury of her first affair

Will it ever cloy
This odd diversity of misery and joy
I'm feeling quite insane and young again
And all because I'm mad about the boy

So if I could employ
A little magic that will finally destroy
This dream that pains me and enchains me
But I can't because I'm mad...
I'm mad about the boy

"Learning To Fly"
Pink Floyd

Into the distance, a ribbon of black
Stretched to the point of no turning back
A flight of fancy on a windswept field
Standing alone my senses reeled
A fatal attraction holding me fast, how
Can I escape this irresistible grasp?
Can't keep my mind from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted Just an earth-bound misfit, I
Ice is forming on the tips of my wings
Unheeded warnings, I thought I thought of everything
No navigator to find my way home
Unladened, empty and turned to stone
A soul in tension that's learning to fly
Condition grounded but determined to try
Can't keep my mind from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I
Above the planet on a wing and a prayer,
My grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air,
Across the clouds I see my shadow fly
Out of the corner of my watering eye
A dream unthreatened by the morning light
Could blow this soul right through the roof of the night
There's no sensation to compare with this
Suspended animation, A state of bliss
Can't keep my mind from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I

And now it's....

Under Pressure
David Bowie / Queen

Mm ba ba de
Um bum ba de
Um bu bu bum da de
Pressure pushing down on me
Pressing down on you no man ask for
Under pressure - that burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets
Um ba ba be
Um ba ba be
De day da
Ee day da - that's o.k.
It's the terror of knowing
What the world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming 'Let me out'
Pray tomorrow - gets me higher
Pressure on people - people on streets
Day day de mm hm
Da da da ba ba
O.k.
Chippin' around - kick my brains around the floor
These are the days it never rains but it pours
Ee do ba be
Ee da ba ba ba
Um bo bo
Be lap
People on streets - ee da de da de
People on streets - ee da de da de da de da
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming 'Let me out'
Pray tomorrow - gets me higher high high
Pressure on people - people on streets
Turned away from it all like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don't work
Keep coming up with love
but it's so slashed and torn
Why - why - why ?
Love love love love love
Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance
Why can't we give love that one more chance
Why can't we give love give love give love give love
give love give love give love give love give love
'Cause love's such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And loves dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves
Under pressure
Under pressure
Pressure

Nirvana - I Hate Myself And I Want To Die Lyrics

Complimentary I Hate Myself And I Want To Die Ringtone

Runny nose and runny yolk
Even if you have a cold still
You can cough on me again
I still havent had my fulfill

In the someday what's that sound?
In the someday what's that sound?
In the someday what's that sound?
In the someday what's that sound?

Broken heart and broken bones
Think of how a castrated horsefeels
One more quirky cliche'd phrase
You're the one I wanna refill

In the someday what's that sound?
In the someday what's that sound?
In the someday what's that sound?
In the someday what's that sound?

most people don't realize
that two large pieces of coral,
painted brown, and attached tohis skull
with common wood screws can makea child look like a deer

In the someday what's that sound?
In the someday what's that sound?
In the someday what's that sound?
In the someday what's that sound?

Runny nose and runny yolk
Even if you have a cold still
You can cough on me again
I still havent had my fulfill

In the someday what's that sound?
In the someday what's that sound?
In the someday what's that sound?
In the someday what's that sound?

Life On Mars
David Bowie

It's a God awful small affair
To the girl with the mousey hair,
But her mummy is yelling, "No!"
And her daddy has told her to go,
But her friend is no where to be seen.
Now she walks through her sunken dream
To the seats with the clearest view
And she's hooked to the silver screen,
But the film is sadd'ning bore
For she's lived it ten times or more.
She could spit in the eyes of fools
As they ask her to focus on

Sailors
Fighting in the dance hall.
Oh man!
Look at those cavemen go.
It's the freakiest show.
Take a look at the lawman
Beating up the wrong guy.
Oh man!
Wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show.
Is there life on Mars?

It's on America's tortured brow
That Mickey Mouse has grown up a cow.
Now the workers have struck for fame
'Cause Lennon's on sale again.
See the mice in their million hordes
From Ibeza to the Norfolk Broads.
Rule Britannia is out of bounds
To my mother, my dog, and clowns,
But the film is a sadd'ning bore
'Cause I wrote it ten times or more.
It's about to be writ again
As I ask you to focus on

Sailors
Fighting in the dance hall.
Oh man!
Look at those cavemen go.
It's the freakiest show.
Take a look at the lawman
Beating up the wrong guy.
Oh man!
Wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show.
Is there life on Mars?

Marlena Shaw
Woman of the Ghetto

ging, gi-gi-gi-gi-ging...)
(la-la-la-la-la-la-la, ...)

I was born, raised in a ghetto
I was born and raised in a ghetto
I'm a woman, of the ghetto
Won't you listen, won't you listen to me, legislator?

(ging, gi-gi-gi-gi-ging...)

How do you raise your kids in a ghetto?
How do you raise your kids in a ghetto?
Do you feed one child and starve another?
Won't you tell me, legislator?

Enthralled through
I know that my eyes ain't blue
But you see I'm a woman
Of the ghetto

I'm proud, free,
Black, that is me
But I'm a woman of the ghetto

(ging, gi-gi-gi-gi-ging...)

How does your heart feel late at night?
How does your heart feel late at night?
Does it beat with shame, or does it beat with pride?
Won't you tell me, legislator?

(na-na-na-na-na-na-na, ...)

Puts me in the mind of,
come and cross the water in a boat
Chained, tied, together

They said, "no, no, they're really not man, and women,
just chain 'em up, tie 'em up, chain 'em up, tie 'em up,
chain 'em up, tie 'em up, work, work, work"
There's where the movement came from

Say no, no...

My children learned just the same as yours
As long as nobody tries to close the door
They cry with pain when the knife cuts deep
They even close their eyes when they wanna sleep

Now peace, you say
is all that you ask
But self-respect is a separate task

You may be sitting up there
in your ivory tower
60 stories tall

I know that you may have checked out at least one ghetto
But I wonder have you lived there at all?

Places like Watts,
ah, Holland, tell me
Chicago, ah tell me
Washington got some too
I have been up on the mountains, I

And I'm free at last
I say I'm free at last
I've seen the children dying
And I've been one of the mothers who was crying

(ging, gi-gi-gi-gi-ging...)

I am a woman
I am a woman
I am a woman, yes I
I said that I am,
I mean that I am,
I'm the woman, I'm the woman, I'm the woman of the ghetto

Strong, true,
A woman
A woman

You can walk through the streets of the ghetto at night
Whole lotta pretty, some ugly sites
Along comes the sleek limousine
Say "hey baby I got ten...
Look at me, I'm clean"
So she takes a little dope
What the hell everybody got to go

I got a baby
I got a baby
I got a baby i want to feed and I'm not really giving it all

up, just a little ten-cent piece or two
Ah, the black woman...

But I ain't gonna raise your babies no more
I got a few on my own,
I wanna keep strolling,
I say I am a woman

gi-gi-gi-gi-ging, I am

I
I am
I am

Remember me
I'm the one who had your babies, I

gi-gi-gi-gi-ging, I am
I am
I am a woman
Of the ghetto

Woman,
I'm a woman, yeah yeah yeah
Just a woman...

I was made in england out of cadillac muscle
I had a quit-me father, had a love-me mother
I had little richard and that black piano
Oh that sweet georgia peach and the boy from tupelo

Oh, I was made in england
Oh, I was made in england

I was made in england out of cadillac muscle
Face down on a playground crying God send me a brother
Not a bloody nose for rock and roll
Give me that sweet georgia peach and the boy from tupelo

I was made in england like a blue cortina
But a yankee summer had a way about her
You had a scent for scandal, well heres my middle finger
I had forty years of pain and nothing to cling to

If youre made in england, youre built to last
You can still say homo and everybody laughs
But the jokes on you, you never read the song
They all think they know but they all got it wrong

Dirty Revolution - I love reggae
http://www.myspace.com/dirtyrevolution

He was dressed the same as me
Doctor Martin boots and turned up jeans
standing alone under Blackpool Pier
I went over and offered him a beer
'cos I was feeling full of love and unity
talking to him about the bands I'd seen
thinking I'd found a kindred spirit
not realising I was putting my foot in it

'cos I said I love reggae
I said I love ska,
he said he loved Skrewdriver
I said I love reggae
I said I love ska,
he said he loved Skrewdriver

He looked a bit puzzled when I didn't react
kept turning round looking behind his back
then he said he had somewhere better to be
stood up and walked away from me

well you can call me niave, call me stupid
didn't know people still listened to Nazi music
can call me niave, call me stupid
I didn't know people still listened to Nazi music

I love reggae, I love ska,
I've never heard of Skrewdriver
I love reggae, I love ska,
I've never ever heard of Skrewdriver

He had a Nazi salute and a steelcap boot
Him and me wear the same clothes
He had a Nazi salute and a steelcap boot
Him and me wear the same clothes
He had a Nazi salute and a steelcap boot
Him and me wear the same clothes
He had a Nazi salute and a steelcap boot
Him and me wear the same clothes

but I love reggae, I love ska,
I've never heard of Skrewdriver
I love reggae, I love ska,
I'm glad I've never heard of Skrewdriver

i want you to find me
but i don't want you to touch me
seems so disgusting
to be handled like a doll
i'm not trying to be dramatic
i'm trying to be nothing
so when you find i've finally done it
please burn me where i lay

things aren't getting any better
things are only getting worse
i'll apologize for the mess of my life
for the rest of my life, forever
unless you promise, promise to kill me first

i want you to find me
but i don't want a big party
hiding my body in the ground
so your version of the story is safe for the rest of your lives
i'm crying for attention
i'm done
i'm trying to resign
so when you find i've finally done it
forget my name and set my stupid fucking corpse on fire

i'm not afraid
why should i be?
i've got all my friends from baltimore right here with me
i'm not afraid
why should i be?
i've got all my friends from highschool right here with me

eventually i'll have to take them
on my break if i don't shake less
empty hands. the fire's left
they can't quite fight with their old strength
i'm so tired
i'm torn up
it's over now
you can make me normal

your eyes are broken
you must lose them
take the pills
kill the delusions
you can't see it's adaquate
so swallow while you can't fix

i havn't shaken in what seems like forever
i have let go of all my old obsessions
i'm healthy i am better
there's no more songs so when i'm dead and gone
i know it won't be the new me they rememeber
but i don't need my eyes to see
my eyes have only lied to me
recognize the time for quitting
and your vision will outlive them all

When I'm at the pearly gates
This will be on my videotape
My videotape
My videotape

When mephistopholis is just beneath
And he's reaching up to grab me

This is one for the good days
And I have it all here in red blue green
In red blue green

You are my centre when I spin away
Out of control
On videotape
On videotape

This is my way of saying goodbye
Because I can't do it face to face

No matter what happens now
I won't be afraid
Because I know today has been
The most perfect day I've ever seen

The time is too short
but never too long
to reach ahead,
to project the image,
which will in time become a concrete dream.
Another cigarette,
another day,
from A to B,
again avoiding C, D, and E,
'cause E is where you play the blues.
Avoiding a death
is to win the game,
to avoid relegation,
the big E.
Drowning in the big swim,
rising to the surface
The smell of you
That's the lowdown

Who killed Liddle?
Did you kill Liddle?
Who killed Liddle?
Police killed Liddle Towers

Who killed Liddle?
Did you kill Liddle?
Who killed Liddle?
Did you kill Liddle Towers?
Who killed Liddle?
Did you kill Liddle?
Who killed Liddle?
Police killed Liddle Towers

Why did he die, or did they lie?
I think he's dead, so a doctor said
He was beaten black, He was beaten blue
But don't be alarmed, it was
the right thing to do
The police have the power,
Police have the right
To kill a man to take away his life
Drunk and disorderly was his crime
I think at worst he should be doing time
But he's dead
He was drunk and disorderly
and now he's dead

Questions are unanswered
Policeman scared to talk
Perhaps they are hiding something
Will my message get across
Please tell me why, why did he die
Please tell me now, and tell me how

Police have the answers
But they haven't got the
right, to kill a man
To take away his life
Perhaps I'm not to clever,
perhaps I'm not to bright
But I think your verdict
was just a lie, a lie, a
lie, lie

Murder, murder, murder, murder...
MURDER

Who killed Liddle?
Did you kill Liddle?
Who killed Liddle?
Police killed Liddle Towers
Who killed Liddle?
Did you kill Liddle?
Who killed Liddle?
Police killed Liddle Towers

Arthur McBride, though not quite in this version:

1. Oh, me and my cousin, one Arthur McBride,
As we went a-walkin' down by the seaside,
Mark now what followed and what did betide,
For it bein' on Christmas mornin'
Now, for recreation, we went on a tramp,
And we met Sergeant Napper and Corporal Vamp
And a little wee drummer intending to camp,
For the day bein' pleasant and charmin'.

2. "Good morning, good morning," the Sergeant he cried.
"And the same to you, gentlemen," we did reply,
Intending no harm but meant to pass by,
For it bein' on Christmas mornin'
"But," says he, "My fine fellows, if you will enlist,
Ten guineas in gold I'll stick to your fist,
And a crown in the bargain for to kick up the dust,
And drink the king's health in the morning.

3. "For a soldier, he leads a very fine life,
And he always is blessed with a charming young wife,
And he pays all his debts without sorrow or strife,
And he always lives pleasant and charmin',
And a soldier, he always is decent and clean,
In the finest of clothing he's constantly seen.
While other poor fellows go dirty and mean,
And sup on thin gruel in the morning."

Instrumental

4. "But," says Arthur, "I wouldn't be proud of your clothes,
For you've only the lend of them, as I suppose,
But you dare not change them one night, for you know
If you do, you'll be flogged in the morning,
And although that we're single and free,
We take great delight in our own company,
We have no desire strange places to see,
Although that your offers are charming.

5. "And we have no desire to take your advance,
All hazards and dangers we barter on chance,
For you'd have no scruples for to send us to France,
Where we would get shot without warning,"
"Oh no," says the Sergeant. "I'll have no such chat,
And neither will I take it from snappy young brats,
For if you insult me with one other word,
I'll cut off your heads in the morning."

6. And Arthur and I, we soon drew our hogs,
And we scarce gave them time to draw their own blades
When a trusty shillelagh came over their head
And bid them take that as fair warning.
And their old rusty rapiers that hung by their sides,
We flung them as far as we could in the tide,
"Now take them up, devils!" cried Arthur McBride,
"And temper their edge in the mornin'!"

7. And the little wee drummer, we flattened his bow,
And we made a football of his rowdy-dow-dow,
Threw it in the tide for to rock and to roll,
And bade it a tedious returning,
And we havin' no money, paid them off in cracks.
We paid no respect to their two bloody backs,
And we lathered them there like a pair of wet sacks,
And left them for dead in the morning.

8. And so, to conclude and to finish disputes,
We obligingly asked if they wanted recruits,
For we were the lads who would give them hard clouts
And bid them look sharp in the mornin'.

Instrumental

9. Oh, me and my cousin, one Arthur McBride,
As we went a-walkin' down by the seaside,
Mark now what followed and what did betide,
For it bein' on Christmas mornin'

I am the passenger
And I ride and I ride
I ride through the citys backside
I see the stars come out of the sky
Yeah, theyre bright in a hollow sky
You know it looks so good tonight
I am the passenger
I stay under glass
I look through my window so bright
I see the stars come out tonight
I see the bright and hollow sky
Over the citys a rip in the sky
And everything looks good tonight
Singin la la la la la-la-la la
La la la la la-la-la la
La la la la la-la-la la la-la
Get into the car
Well be the passenger
Well ride through the city tonight
See the citys ripped insides
Well see the bright and hollow sky
Well see the stars that shine so bright
The sky was made for us tonight
Oh the passenger
How how he rides
Oh the passenger
He rides and he rides
He looks through his window
What does he see?
He sees the bright and hollow sky
He see the stars come out tonight
He sees the citys ripped backsides
He sees the winding ocean drive
And everything was made for you and me
All of it was made for you and me
cause it just belongs to you and me
So lets take a ride and see whats mine
Singing...
Oh, the passenger
He rides and he rides
He sees things from under glass
He looks through his windows eye
He sees the things he knows are his
He sees the bright and hollow sky
He sees the city asleep at night
He sees the stars are out tonight
And all of it is yours and mine
And all of it is yours and mine
Oh, lets ride and ride and ride and ride...
Singing...

Taskmaster burst the bionic zit-splitter

Breakneck speed we drown ten pints of bitter

We lean all day and some say that ain't productive

That depend upon the demons that you're stuck with

Cause right now, I see clearer than most

I sit here contending with this cheese on toast

I feel the pain of a third world famine

Segue, we count them blessings and keep jamming

It's him scumbag, scum of the earth, his worth was nil

Until he gained the skill of tongues

From fifteen years young straight to my greyback self

I stay top shelf material, jerk chicken, jerk fish

Breakaway slave, bliss

Generate gees and then we stash 'em in the Swiss

Fools can't see this, audio pistols

A fistful of hip hop banzai, progressing in the flesh

Esoteric quotes, most frightening

Duppy took a hold of my hand while I was writing

Let go me ting, duppy, let go me hand

I summon up the power of banana clan!

[Chorus x4]

Witness the fitness

The Cruffiton liveth

One hope, one quest

Swigging that beetroot juice, now we dipping and boost

Set the spirit dem loose, go head go slash up the noose

We conclusive proof of both the truth, the right

Cause whether we hitchhike or push bike or travel kind of trash

Manifest that with wholesome roots rap, manifest that, yeah!

I do my same way, ain't nothing else I know

Gone up in the life with this here rag-and-bone flow

Squeeze the pain from my belly and set my soul free

Travel over ocean, land and sea, face nuff stress and difficulty

Flung back from the brink, gwan in kinda stink

We don't give a frigg about what dem fools think

Frigg your network, our debt work a speak for itself

Proof of the trophy and champion belt

Come sun, come rain, come hailstone pelt

[Chorus x4]

Bwana Smith with some old time shit

Let the whole world know we on some off-key tip

Mega-manic when time the pressure start lick

By the hook or by the crook, by the poop or by the kick

He's sickly cryptic, spitting that code

And most proud to present that Cruffiton mode

And it shows that they bros done seen a few sleights

Life throws scenarios, reality bites

We in collision with the beast

Lost we religion and we can't get no peace

Idiot weakhearts want to take I for chief

Stoop to their level and we plotting cold grief

But we should know that discipline maketh the gees

Separation of the DAT from the rap, that's a must

Proceed set speed with the Cruffiton touch

Proceed set speed..Cruffiton, y'all

A star shining in a universe far away
My heart knows that we shall meet again some sweet day
And you, you will be the flame that burns in my breast
And oh, I know just by knowing you I was blessed.
Yes I was truly blessed

Heaven, Heaven, ooh waiting there for me
Heaven, Heaven, ooh always let it be

So why, tell me why the good die young my old friend
I pray that heaven waits for everyone in the end
And love, love is how we cross that bridge to the light
A star that is what you are in my darkest night
Be always by my side

Heaven, Heaven, ooh waiting there for me
Heaven, Heaven, ooh always let it be

Heaven, Heaven, ooh waiting there for me
Heaven, Heaven, ooh always let it be

Out on the wiley, windy moors
We'd roll and fall in green.
You had a temper like my jealousy
Too hot, too greedy.
How could you leave me,
When I needed to possess you?
I hated you. I loved you, too.

Bad dreams in the night
You told me I was going to lose the fight,
Leave behind my wuthering, wuthering
Wuthering Heights.

Heathcliff, it's me, your Cathy, I've come home. I´m so cold,
let me in-a-your window

Heathcliff, it's me, your Cathy, I've come home. I´m so cold,
let me in-a-your window.

Ooh, it gets dark! It gets lonely,
On the other side from you.
I pine a lot. I find the lot
Falls through without you.
I'm coming back, love,
Cruel Heathcliff, my one dream,
My only master.

Too long I roamed in the night.
I'm coming back to his side, to put it right.
I'm coming home to wuthering, wuthering,
Wuthering Heights,

Heathcliff, it's me, your Cathy, I've come home. I'm so cold,
let me in-a-your window.

Heathcliff, it's me, your Cathy, I've come home. I'm so cold,
let me in-a-your window.

Ooh! Let me have it.
Let me grab your soul away.
Ooh! Let me have it.
Let me grab your soul away.
You know it's me--Cathy!

Heathcliff, it's me, your Cathy, I've come home. I´m so cold,
let me in-a-your window
Heathcliff, it's me, Cathy, I've come home. I´m so cold,
let me in-a-your window.

Heathcliff, it's me, your Cathy, I've come home. I'm so cold.

"...well that's my story and i'm sticking to that. So let's have another drink and let's talk about the blues. Blues is about dignity, it's about self-respect, and no matter what they take away from you - that's yours for keeps. I remember how it was, how every medium - T.V. and papers and radio and all those people were saying: 'you're on the scrap-heap, you're useless', and I remember how easy it was to start believing that. I remember how you'd hear people take it for granted that it was true - just 'cause someone with an ounce of power said so. And that's a problem now, too many oddballs, too many pocketbook psychologists and would-be philosophers with an axe to grind. But there's a solution, it's not easy, but it's a matter of coming to terms in your heart with situation you're in, a matter of choosing how things go for you and not having things forced upon you. There are plenty of forces against you, forcing you against your will, your ideals - you've got to hope for the best, and that's the best you can hope for - you've got to hope against hope... I remember something Sal Paradise said, he said: 'the city intellectuals of the world are divorced from the full bodied blood-of-the-land and are just rootless fools'. So listen, when the smile, the condescending pat-on-the-back comes and says: 'we're sorry, but you're nothing, you've got nothing for us and we've got nothing for you', you say: 'No', and say it loud: "NO!", and remember, people who talk about revolution and a class-struggle without referring explicitly to everyday life, without understanding what is subversive about love and what is positive in the refusal of constraints, such people have a corpse in their mouth..."

Once again this is it
Turn it up
Here we go
But this time the rhyme
Gonna ask who did the crime
Then let's get down to the nitty gritty
Like I wanna know who
Picked Wilson's pocket
Afth he rocket it
Fact he shocked it
Same kinna thing they threw at James
An what did to Redd was a shame
The the Black get
The bigger the feds want
A piece of that ... booty
Intentional rape system, like we ain't
Payed enough in this bitch, that's why I dissed them
I learned we earned, got no concern
Instead we burned so where the hell is our return?
Plain and simp the system's a pimp
But I refuse to be a ho
Who stole the soul?

Ain't, no, different
Than in South Africa
Over here they'll go after ya to steal your soul
Like over there they stole our gold
Yo they say the Black don't know how to act
'Cause we're waitin' for the big payback
But we know it'll never come
That's why I say come and get some
Why when the Black move it, Jack move out
Come to stay Jack moves away
Ain't we all people?
How the hell can a color be no good for a neighborhood
Help, straighten me out
'Cause my tribe gets a funny vibe
They I'm wrong for singin' a song
Without solutions
All the dancers answer questions
And try to be the best and...
Let everybody know before I blow
For the sake of what's right
I wanna know who stole the soul?

We choose to use their ways
And holidays notice some of them are heller days
Invented bye those who never repented
For the sins within that killed my kin
But that's all right
I try do what a brother does
But I'll never know if you're my cuz
That's why I try my best to unite
And damn the rest if they don't like it
Banned from many arenas
Word from the motherland
has anybody seen her
Jack was nimble, Jack was quick
Got a question for Jack ask him
40 acres and a mule Jack
Where is it why'd you try to fool the Black
It wasn't you, but you pledge allegiance
To the red, white, and blue
Sucker that stole the soul!

I've just flicked over the telly and heard Neil Diamond doing Love on The Rocks at his 'audience with' thing on ITV. Followed it up with Sweet Caroline, but i'd forgotten how good Love on the Rocks is. My dad used to play it a lot years ago.

Neil Diamond has still got it

Love on the rocks ain't no surprise
Pour me a drink,
And I'll tell you some lies
Got nothing to lose,
So you just sing the blues, all the time

Gave you my heart, gave you my soul
You left me alone here
With nothing to hold
Yesterday's gone
Now all I want is a smile

First they say they want you
How they really need you
Suddenly you find you're out there
Walking in a storm

When they know they have you
Then they really have you
Nothing you can do or say,
You've got to leave, just get away
We all know the song

You need what you need
You can say what you want
Not much you can do
When the feeling is gone
May be blue skies above,
But it's cool
When your love's on the rocks

First they say they want you
How they really need you
Suddenly you find you're out there
Walking in a storm

And when they know they have you
Then they really have you
Nothing you can do or say
You got to leave, just get away
We all know the song

Love on the rocks
Ain't no big surprise
Just pour me a drink
And I'll tell you my lies
Yesterday 's gone
Now all I want is a smile.....

It's Saturday and i've had a few beers :oops::D

It's been the longest winter without you
I didn't know where to turn to
See somehow I can't forget you
After all that we've been through

Going
Coming
Thought I heard a knock(Whose there, No one?)
Thinking that (I deserve it)
Now I have realised
That I really didn't know

If you didn't notice
You mean everything (quickly I'm learning)
To love again (all I know is)
I'll be OK

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's going to hurt when it heals too
Oh yeah (It'll All get better in time)
Even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile because I deserve too
Oooh(It'll all get better in time)

I could of turned on the TV
Without something that would remind me
Was it all that easy?
To just put us out your feeling

If i'm dreamin
Don't want to let it (hurt my feelings)
But that's the past (i believe it)
And I know that, time will heal it

If you didn't notice
Well you mean everything (quickly i'm learning)
Oooh turn up again (All I know is)
I'll be ok

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too
Oooh yeah(It'll all get better in time)
Even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile because I deserve too oooooh(It'll all get better in time)

Since there's no more you and me (No more you and me)
This time I let you go so I can be free
And Live my life how it should be(No No No No No No)
No matter how hard it is
I will be fine without you
Yes I Will

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too
Oooh(It'll all get better in time)
Even though I really loved you
I'm gonna smile cos I deserve too yes I do(It'll all get better in time)

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too yeaaaah Ooooh oooooh (It'll all get better in time)
Even though I really loved you
Going to smile cos I deserve too Ooooooh (It'll all get better....)

is he playing stuff off the Seeger sessions? - there's a track on there that sounds a lot like Sally MacLennane

speaking of Springsteen...

was eight years old and running with a dime in my hand
Into the bus stop to pick up a paper for my old man
I'd sit on his lap in that big old Buick and steer as we drove through town
He'd tousle my hair and say son take a good look around this is your hometown
This is your hometown
This is your hometown
This is your hometown

In '65 tension was running high at my high school
There was a lot of fights between the black and white
There was nothing you could do
Two cars at a light on a Saturday night in the back seat there was a gun
Words were passed in a shotgun blast
Troubled times had come to my hometown
My hometown
My hometown
My hometown

Now Main Street's whitewashed windows and vacant stores
Seems like there ain't nobody wants to come down here no more
They're closing down the textile mill across the railroad tracks
Foreman says these jobs are going boys and they ain't coming back to your hometown
Your hometown
Your hometown
Your hometown

Last night me and Kate we laid in bed
talking about getting out
Packing up our bags maybe heading south
I'm thirty-five we got a boy of our own now
Last night I sat him up behind the wheel and said son take a good look around
This is your hometown

Love on the rocks ain't no surprise
Pour me a drink,
And I'll tell you some lies
Got nothing to lose,
So you just sing the blues, all the time

 I used to love that song when I was (a lot) younger - haven't heard/thought of it for years.
always thought it was by Dire Straights for some reason:oops:

bought an old Neil Diamond comp just the other day too (during a local charity shop raid - not sure if that's on it though)
