What have you driven?

Cars I have owned (in 30 years)

Ford Fiesta 1.1 Rustbucket
Peugeot 205 XLD
Citroen C3 Meh

Have driven other peoples' / work / hire cars and vans on quite a few occasions, including some transport museum residents. can't remember many specific varieties. and must have done my car learner driving in 3 or 4 different cars (financial circumstances meant i didn't see it through to test with the first two)

Have done the skid pan thing in an (unmarked) police car but can't remember what variety of car it was.

A few trams (under instruction) and a variety of buses (do hold the relevant licence for this, but have never worked full time as a bus driver)

the one i did my test on was one of this batch (it had moved south of the border by then)

not done anything that doesn't stay on the ground, and haven't done anything motorised with less than 4 wheels.
You mentioned a Citroen and I can't ever remember driving one of any description.

I'd love to try a DS and a 2CV but also a Traction Avant.

In your time as a driver, what makes and models have you driven? Put a * if you owned it.

Ford Cortina
VW Beetle
Thames van
LWB Landrover
SWB Landrover
Transit van
Ford Escort 1100
Ford Escort 1300
Austin Maxi
Mini*
Rover 2000
MGB GT
BMW 2000
Morris 1000

Ford Escort 1600*
Renault 21
VW Golf 1800

Merc 220
Audi Estate
Nissan Micra 1100*
Fiat Punto*
Nissan Almera*
Nissan Almera*
Nissan Note*
Hyundai i30*
Hyundai i30*

There are probably a couple more, certainly a BMW that I can't remember the model of.

I drove for the first time on 04/10/1969, my 17th birthday in a Cortina.
Were you the getaway driver for the Hatton Street Robbery......? :)

I can't even begin to think how many cars/lorries/buses I've driven. Main thing missing is nothing with tracks. ETA, thats not true if you count kids electric powered mini tank... Which I do..

I’ll only list the interesting ones, in no particular order:

Mini Moke
Caterham R500
Lamborghini Gallardo
Land Rover Lightweight
Ariel Atom
Formula Ford single seater
Formula 3 single seater
Rally spec Subaru Impreza
Bentley Brooklands coupe
My dad bought a Mini Moke just when I was turning the age to be very embarrassed to be driven round in it and pointed at. So he got rid of it, to my (later) massive regret 😫

Ford Fiesta
Ford Mondeo
Land Rover
Honda Prelude
BMW M3
TVR Chimera
Ford Ka
Nissan Qashqai

An ex-boyfriend put me on the insurance for his TVR, which was massive fun until someone crashed into us on the South Circular and the whole fibreglass dream machine cracked like an eggshell.

My dad’s Land Rover Defender was the best thing I ever drove. Big clunky thing with a canvas hood. I’d love to own one again, but it would just look stupid in Lewisham.

Oh yes, and a Toyota Supra which I drove from Bremerhaven to Berlin at 50mph.

The owner didn't have a British Forces Germany driving license, so we got a lift from Berlin to Bremerhaven, and I was to drive the car back. We got out of town onto the Autobahn, I sank the right foot, he nearly had a heart attack. For the first 1000 miles, you don't go above 50. It's about 280 miles. He did fall asleep, and some faster miles were put on. :)

My Escort got run in between Bridgewater and Nieuwpoort in Belgium which is where the motorway started back then. There was still a physical border between Belgium and France. If you have ever bought tobacco in Adinkerke, the wee building with the gnomes in it opposite Tobacco Alley was the passport point.

If we’re veering into planes and stuff then thread needs Lancman and DownwardDog

I wouldn't know where to start with the cars. I've owned over 300... Ditto motorbikes.

The aircraft are easier. Been solo/PF/type rated in:

Chipmunk T10
Jet Provost T3/T3A/T4/T5/T5A
Hawk T1/T1A
Tornado F3
Harrier T10/GR7/GR7A
757-200F/PF
747-400F
Gazelle AH1
Cessna 172/172S

Got stick time in:

Jaguar T2
Lightning T5
F-15D
F-104S
An-12
UH-1H
and probably a few other GA types I can't recall.

Ford Escort MkII (Learner car)
Renault 5 GTL (dad's car for a few weeks after pasing test)
MGB GT - first car (drove loads over the years)
MG Metro
MGB GT V8 x 2
Mini 30
Rover P5B Coupe
Cadillac DeVille - Hire car LA to Vegas and up to San Francisco in 1993
Citroen CX 22 TRS
Citroen DS 21
Citroen Traction Avant - Really wanted one, but would have been too slow in modern traffic. It felt ancient.
Volvo 1800S - Loved that car
TVR Vixen (owned 20 years)
Jaguar XJ6
BMW M3 -Track day thing. I was crap.
Jaguar XJS x 2
VW Beetle 1600 GT
VW Golf Gti Mk3
VW Polo diesel
Honda Civic Type-R EP3
Volvo S40
VW Golf Plus
Volvo S40 diesel
TVR S2
TVR Chimaera 500 (current car)
Volvo C70 (current car)

Plus loads of Transits, dull courtesy cars, hire cars and others that have gone from my mind. :)

Never ridden a proper motorbike as I haven't a clue what you do with them.

I haven't driven a so-called supercar like a Bugatti or a Lamborghini nor things like Rolls-Royce's, I also for some reason as far as I can remember have never driven a Citroen but other than that I have driven cars from most major manufacturers from Mercedes down to Lada's (I learnt to drive in a Fiat 128)
As to cars I have owned (either individually or collectively with Mrs Q) mostly but not entirely in order

Hillman Imp
Volkswagen Beetle
Triumph 1500
3 x Morris Marinas
Vauxhall Magnum
Renault 4
Renault 14
Austin Maestro
Mini
2 x Ford Escorts (Mk 3 and Mk 4)
Ford Focus (at 8 months old, the newest car I've ever owned)
Ford Galaxy
Ford Ka
Fiat 126
Toyota Previa
Currently we have an Audi A6 and a Nissan Micra
I am sure there is at least one missing from that list but I can't remember what it was
I've also owned motorbikes but I haven't been on one for getting on for 40 years and whilst it is probably a subject worthy of its own thread, the only place I have driven abroad is in the US
