What are you playing at the moment?

is it good? I rinsed the original way back when.
Yes it's an almost perfect reboot of the original. Some say that the format is just to tired for our modern times. However, that said if you like the very original then you'll like this. It's Master of Magic in glorious 4K if you have the monitor. That's it no more. So yeah... I like it.

Thanks for the warning. I can't play Civ like games (and MoM is basically Civ 2 with added magic), because I'll get sucked in and loose weeks of my life. Glad it got a reboot tho.

22 Hours into Hogwarts legacy.

It's a really good action rpg apart from having to go back to school (yes, I know that's kinda the point.)

It's very pretty, much much bigger than I expected. The story is good and intriguing and the voice acting is also very good.

It's definitely been made with love for the potter world, getting involved with the politics of it all is too much for me, im just a big kid who likes gaming cos the outside sucks, but I kind of want to support the devs who have obviously worked very hard to make this.

Atomic Heart - Bioshock ripoff, but a Soviet dystopia rather than a Randian one. Looks great but am kind of bored already - never been much into crafting/inventory control elements of these sort of games

The viva new new vegas mod guide has been pared down and now actually works. There was a brief bit in the description talking about how modding erratically can get you very pretty screenshots but the game will fall over the minute you try to play it. I took this on board.
So I'm having another run through on New Vegas and its looking better than ever. Still can't bring myself to do a legion playthrough though they bring out the smite in me.

I enjoyed New Vegas but it’s probably my least favourite. It’s on rails whilst pretending to be open world and it had a different Dev to the other Fallouts.

Been playing TW: Warhammer still. Going to try Akka Arh, which is the new Jeff Minter shooter and Phantom Brigade when that comes out next week.

Returnal. First Rogue-lite (like?) that I've really enjoyed. By 'really enjoyed' I mean it is fucking amazing. I love the story, the atmosphere, the levels, the enemies, the guns, the whole thing really.

For comparison I'm also playing Atomic Heart on Xbox which isn't great and that's well annoying because I was so looking forward to it coming out. Taking the shine off the whole experience are the interminable cut scenes that you can't always skip, the load times, the levels that don't quite gel and the awful dialogue of the protagonist, to name but a few of the bizarre choices the devs made. So it's a no from me.

Returnal is great, even if I can never get very far in it. It's made by the same guys who did Resogun and Nex Machina - which are both absolutely brilliant arcade shooters. Kind of sad they gave up on that genre.

Gunraiders on VR, tho I am not happy with some of the updates they are making, its spread people too thin around the different levels and too many people seem to land in a hub and not realise other levels exist that have more of an actual aim to them than randomly flying about.

I've still to get out of the first biome, or level as I call it, due to being very very good at running into anything that resets my Adrenalin. I only worked out this morning that you can dash through any kind of enemy projectile. It sounds like Housemarque weren't prepared for quite how popular the game is. They say that they're putting stuff into their next IP that didn't make it into Returnal, rather than making Returnal 2. I hope it gets made at some point.

I'm on a second run through Nier: Automata, absolutely fantastic stuff. The story, the atmosphere, the look of it, and combat is hilarious. Second playthrough is better than the first because when you finish the game you play again as another character, keep all levels and gear but with new abilities.
